Assessment and Treatment of Patients with Borderline Personality Disorder in the College and University Population

The assessment and treatment of students with borderline personality traits or disorders poses specific challenges for clinicians at college and university mental health centers complicated, frequently, by a model of brief treatment frameworks and high patient volumes. Students with borderline pathology will be well represented in student health centers and will likely generate unusually complex and concerning situations for clinicians and administrators. Accurate diagnosis of borderline pathology, avoidance of iatrogenic complications related to misdiagnosis, and referral to informed and evidence-based interventions can guide clinicians’ management. Risk management concerns are best addressed by a clear and realistic understanding of the borderline pathology. The author proposes a variety of interventions for college and university mental health clinicians with the goal of accurate diagnosis of borderline personality, management focusing on safety for both students and clinicians, and targeted referrals for both borderline symptomatology and co-occurring conditions.

提升网络学习环境的交互技术水平,以及加强网络互动教学活动的探索,是当前促进大学生英语实践能力提高的核心研究内容.通过问卷等方法对大学英语网络学习的相关问题和需要做了较细致的调查,根据调查结果,以富交互技术的使用和协作交流功能的设计作为核心,探索了大学英语富交互型网络学习环境.依托该大学英语网络学习环境设计了交互特征明显的教学活动,运用实验法对大学生英语实践能力进行了实验效果分析,考查了大学英语网络教学环境中的交流互动与大学生英语听力、写作水平的关系.研究表明,师生通过富交互技术参与英语网络教学活动,形成了积极运用英语来交流与表达的互惠团体,从而能够较好地提高大学生的英语实践能力.     

Shifting The Burden: Public and Private Financing of Higher Education in the United States and Implications for Europe

Over the last two decades, there has been a significant change in the financing of higher education in the United States. A decrease in student and institutional support in real terms, tuition increases at all types of institutions, along with the view that students are the primary beneficiaries of higher education has resulted in policies that reduce the proportion of higher education costs borne by the federal and state governments. This paper will describe this financing shift in the United States, and analyse its impact on college participation with a particular focus on equity and opportunity. It will also provide an analysis of some questions that European countries should address as they implement their own policies that shift the burden of paying for college from the government to individuals, and as they consider various forms of financial assistance to help students pay for college.

Abstract

Love in the Time of Facebook: How Technology Now Shapes Romantic Attachments in College Students

College counseling clinicians need to understand how students use technology to form, sustain, and end romantic attachments. Students now frequently incorporate aspects of these technologically based interactions, or mediated communications, into counseling sessions and often make important attributions based on them. Heavy daily use of a growing array of options includes telephonic conversations, text messaging, chat, Facebook, and e-mail. This article will provide a theoretical framework that integrates attachment and communications theory to assist college counseling clinicians to make positive therapeutic use of this remarkable shift in how students communicate in romantic (and other) relationships.     

Chinese Colleges Need More Endowment

In this paper I talk about the importance of increased college endowments. First I will introduce the limited financial situation of current Chinese colleges. Second, I will present an analysis on the financial reports of STU and Yale. Thirdly, I will describe the current Chinese College endowment situation. In conclusion I will present four suggestions for enhancing current Chinese college endowments.

我国高校学报目前实行规模狭小的办刊方式、自我封闭的管理模式以及条块分割的管理体制，难以形成规模效应和品牌优势。组建高校学报集团，开发中国高校学报的网络电子版，有利于充分发挥高校在学术科研上的资源优势，通过互联网来拓展学报在日趋激烈的市场竞争中的生存空间，取得在知识传播、创新和产品经营中的双赢局面。     

关于当代大学生上网情况的调查及其教育对策的思考

通过对400名大学生有关上网普及度、上网依赖度、上网与学习的关系、上网内容、上网态度等情况的问卷调查发现,网络给当代大学生带来了信息传播、交往、休闲、学习等方式的变革。这些变革也必然推动着教育方式的变革。网络与专业课程教学相结合、网络与思想政治教育相结合、网络与心理健康教育相结合是高等教育方式变革的新路径,也只有这样才能有效地规避网络的副作用,扩大其正功能。     

“自我同一性”理论视阈下高校校园网络文化建设路径探究

当前的大学校园网络是一把双刃剑,在为大学生提供信息与拓展知识、促进学习与便利生活的同时,不良网络文化在思想、精神、生活、学业、人际等方面对"网生代"大学生所产生的负面影响也日益显现,校园网络文化的良性发展受到挑战。文章结合埃里克森(E.H. 针对高校网络舆情边评估研究较少、评估指标单一、评估因素特定等问题,提出多指标加权关键边评估模型。首先,将高校网络拓扑化,并利用矩阵表示网络参与者之间的关系;其次,计算网络拓扑中每条边的边介数以及支撑边两个点的点介数;最后,分析在边介数、支撑边两个点的点介数及3个指标的不同加权作用下高校网络中关键边的评估情况。根据多指标加权关键边评估模型,可从网络舆情引导机制、信息工作机制、预警和处理机制4个方面为高校网络舆情引导策略的制定提供参考。
