On Word-formation of China English Lexis

This paper introduces China English and China English lexis,and analyzes the four ways of the word-formation of China English lexis:transliteration,loan translation,loan-blend and coinage.The analysis can show that China English is used to express the language system in a special situation in China,and it has brought large number of new lexis and new vision into world Englishes,which has enhanced the expressive force of English.

CLT and its Application in Oral English Classroom

Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) is beyond doubt the most advanced language teaching approach in the new era. Yet, it was treated coldly in China at the outset. After over two decades of reform and trial, Chinese educators become aware that CLT does not clash but complement with Chinese traditional teaching methods if used selectively and flexibly. To stimulate further research on adapting CLT appropriately to Chinese EFL classroom, the author hereby shares with all the measures she has taken to meet the challenges in teaching speaking with CLT.

Reflections on the application of the western reproduction theory in the research into the education of China

The ＂reproduction theory＂ was conceived and born in the research into educational inequalities in Western countries. The Appropriate Relevance between Putonghua and Dialects

The Research on the Current Situation of English Interpreting Studies in Three Northeastern Provinces of China

Since the Master of Translation and Interpreting has been established under the approval of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and the Chinese Ministry of Education, translation discipline stepped into a rapid development period in China as well as the research of interpreting studies. This paper aimed at providing a brief introduction of the current situation and existing problems of English interpreting studies in Three Northeastern Provinces of China under the comparative analysis of literature in CNKI China Academic Journal Network Publishing Database from 2004 to 2013.     

A Comparison between Life of Chinese Women and That of American Ones

The United States is the largest developed country in the world and China is the largest developing country in the world. As America and China are playing increasingly important roles in the world, people are eager to learn more about these countries. This paper makes a comparison of the lives of Chinese and American women so as to give readers an idea of the cultures, customs and values of these two countries. The discussion of women’s lives in China and America is conducted from three aspects, namely, occupation, women and family, women’s education.     

Experimental study on uniaxial time-dependent ratcheting of a polyetherimide polymer

The uniaxial ratcheting behavior of a polyetherimide （PEI） polymer ＇TECAPEI＇ was studied using stress-controlled cyclic loading at room temperature, including both cyclic tension-compression with non-zero tensile mean stress and tension- unloading tests. The experimental observations were focused on the time-dependent ratcheting of the PEI polymer revealed in cyclic tests at diverse stress rates and with different peak stress holding times. The results showed that the PEI polymer shows obvious ratcheting deformation; i.e., the ratcheting strain accumulates progressively in the tensile direction during stress- controlled cyclic tests with non-zero mean stress. The ratcheting is highly dependent on the applied mean stress and stress am-plitude, and is also characterized by a strong time-dependency during the cyclic stressing at diverse stress rates and with different peak stress holding times. The time-dependent ratcheting of the PEI polymer is caused mainly by its remarkable viscosity. A comparison of the ratcheting occurring before and beyond the ultimate stress point of the PEI polymer showed that the ratcheting beyond the ultimate stress point is more significant than that occurring before that point.     

School Voucher Program and Its Enlightenments to the Education Reform in China

This article roughly retrospects the idea of school voucher program proposed by Milton Friedman, lately developed by Peacock, Wiseman and Jencks. The reasons like privatization in education, deterioration of public schooling and school choice promote this program. Then taking a simple look at the ramification of voucher program＂ and its value inclination and the practice of school voucher program in the USA and the problems existing in America. Finally, this paper introduces the school voucher program practiced in China and the enlightenments that school voucher program can offer to the education reform in China. With the idea and practice of school voucher program, the introduction of the market mechanism benefits the innovation of education fiscal system, the competition between schools, improvement of the education quality and parents＇ needs of school choice; it benefits the development of non-governmental education; it helps to build a better school governance situation. We should use two forms of constitutional transformation to ensure the widespread of school voucher program in China.
