大学英语文化教育的跨文化比较

随着经济全球化的不断蔓延,我国英语文化教学也逐步受到重视.但由于我国大学英语文化教学起步较晚,较美国和欧洲国家仍显不足,表现在教学理论欠缺、教材内容不够完善以及学生学习缺乏主动性等问题,因此,未来大学英语文化教学可采取如下策略:树立正确的教学理念、完善教材内容和培养学生自主学习能力.

欧洲文化与美国文化均属西方文化的范畴,但二者从来不是一个有机的整体.在早期美国人的脑海中,欧洲多是作为一种消极的形象出现,正是欧洲的专制、腐败、堕落才凸现了美国这个新兴国家在各方面的优越,也表明了"新大陆"与"旧世界"在文化上的二元对立.这样,美国文化中体现出的"例外论"最初主要是针对欧洲而言的.早期美国人的欧洲观不见得与实际完全相符,但却成为美国彰显其对世界承担的一种特殊使命的最好理由,也对美国处理与欧洲国家的关系产生了深刻的影响.     

跨文化交际学视角下的赛珍珠儿童故事《于兰》

赛珍珠在其创作的儿童小说《于兰：中国的飞行男孩》中,塑造了一个有理想有追求、爱学习、爱劳动的中国男孩于兰的形象,和一个了解中国人、乐于帮助中国人的美国士兵吉米的形象,打破了中美两国人对于彼此的刻板印象。从跨文化交际学视角来看,该书表现了赛珍珠力图消除文化偏见、提倡文化移情、反对文化中心主义和推崇多元文化求同存异的思想,使她无愧于“文化人桥”的赞誉。
