龚自珍和薛福成的“再就业“观

龚自珍和薛福成是请末著名的人口学家，他们针对当时人口暴涨、大量无业失业人口流离失所、社会动荡不安的状况，提出了各自的“再就业”主张。本文切入人口学视角，认为龚自珍、薛福成人口“再就业”理念虽然不同，但殊途同归，都具有深沉的时代价值。     

汪士铎人口思想研究

晚清的社会危机，使从事汉学研究的下层知识分子汪士铎也走上了“经世”的道路。他在著述中系统提出的人口理论是其经世思想的重要组成部分，其晚婚晚育、节制生育等主张在历代鲜有其例，是人口思想的巨大进步。但其溺杀女婴，仇视农民的思想则是糟粕。     

汪士铎经世思想探略

晚清道咸以来,经世思潮涌起,不同治学路向、各个社会阶层的学者都卷入其中。汪士铎作为禀承汉学的下层知识分子,在日趋严重的社会危机刺激之下,也走上了经世致用的道路。他激烈抨击社会弊病,同时提出消弭内乱,改革社会的主张。其中,他对孔孟儒学的尖锐批判和晚婚晚育、节制生育、减农广商等人口思想独具特色。     

汪士铎的反名教思想

汪士铎(1802——1889年),字振庵,别字梅村,晚年自号悔翁。江苏江宁(今南京)人。中国近代史学家和经济思想家。早在本世纪四十年代初,就有人对汪士铎的反名教思想深为不满,专门写了《<乙丙日记>纠缪》一书,对汪士铎的反孔言论进行逐条反驳,为孔孟之道正言,而且还把汪士铎和“五四”运动时期的反孔名将吴虞相提并论,被认为是“名教罪人”,咒骂为“身未灭而嗣先绝”。后来的史学界对汪士铎也多有责难,尤其是他的人口思想,被经济学界的一些学者认为是中国的马尔萨斯人口论翻版。对此,笔者不敢苟同,现不揣冒昧,对汪士铎的反名教思想,提出一些新的看法。     

论薛福成的边防思想

薛福成是晚清重要的思想家。他主张在国防建设上要边防与海防并重,认为中国的边防威胁主要来自英、俄、法三国,且俄国威胁最大。薛福成提出调整中国与属国关系的政策。他主张根据中国边防安全的需要,区别对待藩属国,主动放弃无关紧要的藩邦,保护朝鲜、越南。同时,他意识到铁路在边防建设中的重要作用,中国应该引进铁路技术,修建铁路,以巩固边防。     

从“五蠹”篇管窥韩非子人口论

韩非子的人口论虽有唯心史观的不足,但其对后世学者如马端临、徐光启、汪士铎等的人口思想与观点的影响是显而易见的。韩非子有关人口与货财的关系、人口与社会生活资料等观点对后世学者也有影响与启发。     

从洋务论者到改良派代表——论薛福成的思想

薛福成(1838—1894),字叔耘,江苏无锡人,是中国近代史上著名的思想家。政论家、外交家。福成早年长时间充任曾国藩、李鸿章幕僚,受其影响颇深,富国强兵的洋务主张很突出。后来,随着西方资本主义国家对中国侵略的日益加深,洋务运动的弊端明显暴露,薛福成顺应时代潮流,提出了效法西方变法图强的改良主义思想。今天,我们正在进行有中国特色的社会主义改革开放事业,回顾总结近代史上改革开放的经验教训,并对以通晓“洋务”著称的薛福成进行研究是十分必要的。

薛福成是我国十九世纪后半叶洋务官僚培植起来的官僚知识分子,又是主张效法西方发展中国资本主义工商业、改革封建专制政体的早期改良思潮的代表人物。当我们把他放在特定的历史条件和社会环境中进行考察的时候,就会提出这样的问题:薛福成是否经历了从洋务派到改良派的转变?他的经济思想究竟是怎样形成发展的,有什么特点?笔者试图就上述问题作一综合论述。不妥之处,请同行先进和读者批评指正。     

薛福成"工商立国"思想述论

薛福成在对西学的探求过程中形成了一整套“工商立国”的思想：为破除人们对商人谋利的偏见,提出了“人之笃与私计者,情也”的主张;为倡言重商,首次提出“握四民之纲者,商也”的命题;他主张以机器殖财养民,振百工,设专利,设立公司,发展资本主义工商业。这为后来的进步思想家们提供了丰富的思想养料。
