本文搜集整理已有文献,清晰地界定了三个基本概念:批判、批判理论和传播批判理论.     

对“传播”在文化研究发生史中地位的历史考察

"传播"一直"构连"在文化研究发生、发展的过程中。这种"构连"既体现为"传播"在文化研究生成语境中的结构性影响,也反映在文化研究不同阶段代表人物的研究主题和研究方式中。通过运用人物图片式扫描的方法,经过对"传播"与文化研究学术渊源、文化研究经典阶段以及后续发展阶段"构连"方式的详细分析,实现对"传播"在文化研究发生发展史中历史地位的考察。     

Between the Structural and the Personal: Situated Sense-Makings of “Race” This research was supported by a grant from the MOSAIC Multicultural Center at San Jose State University.

Using a critical intercultural communication perspective and cultural studies interviewing method, this study traces individuals’ subjective sense-makings of diversity through the trope of “race.” Such sense-makings represent the key (and taken-for-granted) locus of the structural and personal where social actors live out the constructions of diversity and race in deeply felt ways. Our study reveals how individuals articulate and understand race via raceless diversity encodings (whereby race is seemingly stripped of its power inequalities, and all racial/ethnic groups are made equal) and racial pivoting (whereby participants both discursively pull away from and move toward race to suit their individual experiences).     

敦煌学数字化的现状及评析

文章在简要介绍国内外已建和在建敦煌学数字化项目的基础上,对敦煌学数字化的现状进行了评析,揭示了敦煌学数字化过程中存在的诸如重复建设、版权纠纷等问题,并提出了几点建议。     

Theory stranded at the borders,or, Cultural Studies from the southern fringes

ABSTRACT

Isolating certain critical blind spots that one encounters in studying lifeworlds of the global South, this essay calls for: (1) a grasp of the irreducible singularity of each historical formation as an essential aspect of southern Cultural Studies, so that its lessons are not readily erased, dismissed as signs of failure, or bracketed as idiosyncratic exceptions to universalized standards; and (2) the recognition of volatile and illicit forms of popular agency—emerging in friction with the security-obsessed governmentality of the borderlands, the exclusionary institutions of civil society, and the normativities of citizenship—as legitimate heralds of a global political futurity.     

When facts,truth, and reality are God‐terms: on journalism's uneasy place in cultural studies

This article tracks the uneasy coexistence of journalism and cultural studies, arguing that the tensions between the two fields have worked to mutual disadvantage. The article suggests that rethinking the ways in which journalism and its inquiry might be made a more integral part of cultural studies could constitute a litmus test of sorts for cultural studies. Figuring out how to embrace journalism's god‐terms of facts, truth, and reality alongside its own regard for subjectivity and construction could help move cultural studies into further degrees of maturation as a field.     

Interview with Lawrence Grossberg

Cultural studies seems to have passed into the shadows of academic interests, replaced by globalization and political economy as the new millennium's privileged concerns among left academics. Yet, cultural studies' longstanding interest in the interrelationship of power, politics, and culture remains critically important. Matters of agency, consciousness, pedagogy, and rhetoric are central to any public discourse about politics, not to mention education itself. Hence, this article argues that the promise of cultural studies, especially as a fundamental aspect of higher education, resides in a larger transformative and democratic politics in which matters of pedagogy and agency play a central role.     

Web2.0时代“草根传播”的民粹主义倾向

网络事件引发网民舆论监督热情高涨的同时,也鼓舞了网民对抗主流文化与权力话语的意识。当前,体现为好事者文化的民粹主义受到许多人的追捧,成为一种网络传播潮流。本文认为,网络草根传播的民粹化导致了传播的非理性,其产生的社会根源在于社会不平等、不公正引发的文化政治对抗心理,而根本的心理根源则是力比多释放带来的。这种网络传播文化可能导致传媒文化的低质化。当前我国网络文化中的这种倾向应当引起必要的关注。     

Cultural Studies and/of Economic Rights: Neglect and Promise

This article theorizes the historical non-relation between cultural studies and economic rights discourse, tracing it to ideal typical distinctions between economy and culture in early cultural studies; Karl Marx's influence on Left thought generally via his critique of bourgeois rights; and Foucauldian governmentalist treatments of rights as neoliberal technologies of control and treatments of economy as having no agency of its own but rather as an effect of governmentality. It then introduces a case-study conjunctural history of American economic rights as a history of present American citizenship and politics in order to demonstrate the historically contingent articulations of individual freedom, government, and economic relations, which are not easily explained by the Marxist or Foucauldian vocabularies. The conjunctural history provides cultural studies research with a new perspective for attention to radical democracy and critiques of neoliberal capitalist policies without surrendering the utility of rights to (neo)liberalism.     

Finopower: Governing Intersections Between Gambling and Finance

Regulatory distinctions between “problem” and “recreational” gambling have contributed to the neglect of important discursive and cultural practices at the intersection of finance and gambling. This intersection is now sufficiently formative of everyday life and popular culture to warrant closer scrutiny within cultural studies research. Through a range of examples, I elaborate the concept of “finopower” as a specific kind of governmentality through which individuals negotiate the mutual imbrications of gambling and finance. The final part of the article draws on theories of “post-disciplinary” societies to explore social and political implications of cultural distinctions between skill and chance-based games.     

文化、权力与多元性:关于媒介批评学科体系建设的思考

随着大众传媒与社会生活的关系日益紧密,旨在为观察、分析、阐释错综复杂的媒介现象提供理论与方法的传播学分支学科——媒介批评——的重要性正日益凸显。然而,目前我国的媒介批评学科体系中存在着包罗万象、还原主义和重理论轻实践的三种倾向,制约着媒介批评学科的发展。本文认为,媒介批评学科体系的建构需在文化、权力分配与多元性的框架内展开,赋予该学科以真正的批评力量,切实推动社会变迁。     

Rhetoric (Dis)Appearing

The institutional history of rhetoric is isolated to appreciate its future value to critical communication and cultural studies. Four institutional encounters are highlighted: 1) its role in the creation of this journal under the auspices of the National Communication Association; 2) its shape shifting character as disciplinary knowledge, practice, and process for engaging democratic imaginaries; 3) its governmentalization under the sign of communication; 4) its ability to escape the ways institutions govern.

Connecting the Disconnected: Balkan Culture Studies

This article looks at the emergence and potentials of a Balkan cultural studies. I argue that the productivity of a Balkan cultural studies lies in its willingness to engage with popular culture as a very real political force in the revolutionary transformations from the 1980s on. Some recent cultural developments are presented here to show how the mix of culture and cultural studies contributes to the political relevance and academic vibrancy of Balkan cultural studies, which captures the imagination of students in the region precisely because of its engaged character and its contemporary relevance.     

Harry Potter and the Commodity Fetish: Activating Corporate Readings in the Journey from Text to Commercial Intertext

Recent years have seen a productive dialogue develop between political-economic and cultural approaches to media studies. In this spirit, this article draws on the analytic tools of political economy to produce a textual analysis of J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. In particular, we argue that Rowling has woven throughout the Potter series a set of contradictory discourses related to class and consumerism. Yet out of this heteroglossia, AOL Time Warner—the holder of the series’ film and merchandising rights—has activated a narrow reading of Harry Potter that subordinates Rowling's critique of social inequality and materialism while amplifying those moments in the texts that celebrate the “magic” of commodity consumption. Our conclusion discusses the role such corporate activations might play in the struggle over how commodity production and consumption will be understood in the wider social field.     

传播政治经济学与文化研究的分歧与整合

以往对传播政治经济学与文化研究诸种分歧的讨论多停留在表象的差异。本文提出,要理解这些差异,需要从根源上把握哲学观的差异。而实现两者整合的可能途径,则可以从中间温和立场的交叉地带寻求共识。柯伦和莫利、莫斯可以及巴伯等人的一系列新作都是这种整合合作的重要成果。对这两个学派关系的再度反思,亦对中国语境下的传播研究提供了方法和理论的借鉴。     

中国传媒多元化投资现状与对策研究

多元化投资是当前中国传媒产业发展的一大趋势。综观我国传媒多元化投资现状,总体情况不能令人满意。要使传媒多元化投资行为趋于理性成熟,中国必须进一步深化传媒产权制度改革,同时放松传媒规制,并在有条件的情况下尝试建立有效、严格的破产制度。     

山东省地市科技报告工作现状与建议

本文根据2016年底山东省对全省17个地市的科技报告工作进行的专项检查和问卷调查结果,归纳总结了17 个地市的科技报告工作现状及取得的成效和经验,对目前阶段工作中存在的问题进行分析,最后从制度条件、人员队 伍、服务平台、考核机制、试点工作对推进地市级科技报告工作提出了对策和建议。     

陕西省农村文化设施建设现状及对策

大力发展农村文化设施是社会主义新农村建设的重大任务，也是广大农民群众提高自身文化素养的必然要求。纵观陕西农村文化设施建设的现状，情况不容乐观。今后，陕西应将县级图书馆建设作为农村文化设施建设的龙头，将乡镇文化站、图书室作为农村文化设施建设的纽带，将农村文化活动中心建设作为农村文化设施建设的基础。
