“家长参与教育”的国际经验及启示

近年来学校不断在进行各种各样的改革,而对于学校教育的天然合作者——家长却没有给予足够的重视。有研究指出“家长参与”对于教育改革是相当重要的因素,家庭的影响力的展现并不亚于学校和老师。但在现实中家长作为学校教育的有力合作者的身份没有很好的被认识和利用,不少学校或者教师潜意识中仍然认为学校教育是正统,家长所能做的只有服从和配合学校。     

新高考视角下基础教育阶段职业生涯教育的国际比较

新高考改革下,我国基础教育阶段对职业生涯的专业指导呈现需求。通过对美国、日本、英国等发达国家基础教育阶段职业生涯教育实践的比较和分析,总结对我国职业生涯教育的启示:国家应以政策为导引,建立完善的职业生涯教育体系;增加资金投入,开发专业课程和培养师资;学校应培训各科教师,实现学科教学与职业生涯教育的融合。     

How Good Are Our Schools

ABSTRACT

Research suggests a positive relationship between schools’ efforts to engage parents and parents’ involvement in their child's education. The authors investigated school socioeconomic status, school size, grade level, and student–teacher ratio as predictors of schools’ efforts to engage parents of students receiving special education services. The dependent variable was the Schools’ Efforts to Partner with Parents’ Scale, which has been validated for states’ use in their federal accountability systems. Mean school-level scores were calculated for 265 schools in a large southeastern state. Results indicated that student–teacher ratio was the strongest predictor of parents’ perceived school engagement efforts. Implications are drawn for ways in which all schools, including those with high student–teacher ratios, can improve their collaboration with parents of students receiving special education services.     

高职院校大学生职业观教育研究综述

高职院校大学生的职业观教育,已经成为了国内外学术界研究的重要内容.国内外已有的研究成果主要集中在职业观教育的概念、现状和开展路径等方面,具有十分重要的学术启迪价值.立足于多学科的视野,运用定性与定量相结合的方法,探究高职院校大学生职业观教育的影响因素和大学生对职业观教育的主观认知,努力构建一套科学、合理的高职院校大学生职业观教育的创新方案,仍是理论界亟待开拓的一个全新学术领域.     

Linking School–Family–Community Partnerships in Urban Elementary Schools to Student Achievement on State Tests

This study examines the relationship between the quality of school, family, and community partnership programs and student performance on state-mandated achievement tests. Data from 82 elementary schools, located in a large urban area, were collected to explore the relationship between family and community involvement and students' achievement test performance. Analyses show that, controlling for school characteristics, the degree to which schools were working to overcome challenges to family and community involvement predicted higher percentages of students scoring at or above satisfactory on state achievement tests. The findings suggest that schools' efforts to involve families and the community in students' learning may be a useful approach to help students achieve in school, especially for students in early elementary grades. Also, the findings illustrate the importance for schools located in large urban areas to address obstacles to family and community involvement to realize the benefits associated with family and community involvement.

从世界基础教育发展的趋势看,基础教育除了使学生学会读、写、算和日常生活所需要的技能之外,还要培养学生学会解决问题和学会实践,增强寻求就业机会的能力和公民意识。在现有的基础教育框架不变的情况下,满足青少年对教育的基本需求,重要的途径是在中小学增加生涯教育课程,对学生进行生涯辅导。生涯教育会使学生在知识的学习与个体自我觉察、社会、工作之间建立起积极的联系,会使学生在丰富知识学习和塑造完美个性的同时增强未来进入社会的适应能力。

“Contact us next year”: Tracing teachers' use of gifted practices

After attending a summer institute on gifted education, teachers reported they changed their beliefs about gifted learners. This article traces the nature and course of the changes these teachers made in their classrooms over a two year period. Factors that supported and impeded change are considered. These include student success, personal challenge and increasing self confidence. Obstacles are feelings of isolation, school bureaucracy, large class sizes, fear and lack of time.     

当代大学生职业生涯规划问题研究

随着大学生人数的急剧增长,就业难问题日益突出。如何提高大学生的专业素养和竞争能力,以达到与职业的匹配,成为社会关注的焦点。文章从大学生职业生涯的概念界定出发,分析了当前大学生职业生涯规划中存在的问题,如规划意识淡薄、自我认识片面、缺乏职业目标等。针对这些问题,从树立职业理想、开展自我评估、正确认识职业、分析外部环境、确定职业发展目标、设定职业生涯发展路线、实施和修正职业生涯规划等方面,提出了当代大学生进行职业生涯规划的具体方法和步骤,以及大学生职业生涯规划保障机制的完善措施。

通过自编《大学生职业生涯规划能力现状调查问卷》,对某高校1200名本科生进行的问卷调查,表明大学生对自身职业生涯规划现状的总体满意度一般,大学生自我个性认知、职业发展认知、职业发展规划都较好,但高校职业生涯辅导教师队伍建设需要加强     

Counselling the Gifted and Talented in France: Minimizing Gift and Maximizing Talent

After a presentation of the French school system, we describe how the three principal practices—acceleration, enrichment, and special classes—for the education of the gifted are functioning in France. Then, we deal with the counselling of the gifted through 1) the presentation of the professional involved in these tasks, 2) the role played by the parent associations of gifted children, and 3) the identification practices. For the talented, there are many practices, from primary education onwards, which allow schooling to be reconciled with sports studies or artistic tuition. The concept of “dual project” is introduced: the need for sportsmen/women to elaborate their career plan at the same time as their sporting project. The conclusion stresses that in France, measures for the gifted are not clearly laid out; whereas, provisions benefiting from clear and explicit information have been made for the talented and are encouraged by various institutions.

Exploring Latino/a college students’ transition experiences: An ethnography of social preparedness and familial support

This ethnographic case study examined first-year, first-generation, low-income Latino/a college students’ social experiences and familial support during their transition from a charter high school to four-year universities. Through interviews and observations, we found that maintaining communication and building relationships among high school and college peers, high school faculty and staff, and college professors were essential to navigating the educational system; also, having a family that supported their academic work to allow students to only focus on their coursework was important.
