在经济全球化的浪潮冲击下,英语的广泛传播尤其在非英语文化背景中的应用孕育了多种地域变体,使得英语成为跨文化交际中最重要的国际语言。英语世界化这一独特的语言现象也给我国英语教育提供了新的发展思路。基于国际英语(EIL)理论的国际化语言教学观,英语教学应该以培养学生的跨文化交际能力为目标;广大英语教师应该充分发挥本土优势,形成具有中国特色的英语教学风格。  相似文献

随着信息全球化的快速发展,英语已经成为了国际通用语言,而对英语语言学的研究早在文艺复兴时期就已经开始了,特别是英国文学巨匠莎士比亚的戏剧文学,使英语语言的语音、词汇用法和结构都有了极大的进步。在第二次世界大战后,英语从文学戏剧中脱离出来,并且成为国际外交官通用的交流语言,逐渐发展为一个完整的英语语言学体系;而后在英帝国殖民主义时期,英语语言得到了广泛的扩张,成为了国际通用的语音。本文通过了解英语语言学的发展历程,对英语语言学语音和词汇的变化进行了简要的分析。  相似文献

在全球化的需求和影响下,英语被推动成为一种国际通用语(lingua franca),其非母语使用者的数量已远远超出母语使用者,很多人担心英语的广泛使用以及对英语的推崇会阻碍语言多样性的发展和对民族文化的认同。本文针对此类消极观点提出辩驳,通过分析英语语言本身的灵活性和应用性特征,以及英语作为国际通用语激发起的对民族语言的保护意识和对多民族文化特征的承载作用,认为英语作为一种通用语言,对世界语言多样性和民族文化认同的消极作用并不明显,反之在一定程度上促进了后两者的发展。  相似文献

This interpretive qualitative study describes the experiences of six Afro-Caribbean multilingual educators with Englishes across Caribbean and United States contexts and classrooms. Findings showed how confidence vs. doubtfulness and resistance vs. acceptance seemed visible in the educators' use of Englishes based on the expectations of others and how distance vs. closeness and negative vs. positive feelings were reflected in educators' learning about their use of Englishes. Overall, the findings suggest that the educators' experiences were characterized by recursivity, repositionality and bidirectionality. Recursivity seemed evident because the educators moved back and forth in their thinking about Englishes, English ideologies, and between conflicts about these ideologies in their experiences across Caribbean and U.S classrooms. Repositionality seemed visible in their increasing acceptance of non-standardized Englishes for ‘outer circle’ classroom instruction and through shifts in their ideologies about English as moved back and forth across ‘inner’ and ‘outer circles,’ both via various digital technologies and by way of their physical movement across geographic boundaries. Bidirectionality appeared to be present in the impact of educators' ideologies about Englishes on ‘inner circle’ speakers, and the impact of ‘inner circle’ speakers' ideologies about Englishes on educators. This study raises questions about the ways in which educators' Englishes function as they interact with English speakers in the United States.  相似文献

While the experiences of international doctoral students, especially those from Asian countries, have been well researched, fewer studies have explored the experiences of African students in Southern countries like Australia and Aotearoa/New Zealand. This article reports on doctoral writing and student and supervisor perspectives on English languages in a small study of supervisors and African students in New Zealand. It challenges deficit constructions of African students and illustrates how the growing internationalisation of higher education is adding to the complexities of doctoral writing, raising questions as to how students and supervisors recognise and navigate differences in Englishes and doctoral writing. It makes a number of recommendations about how supervisors might work effectively with African and other doctoral students.  相似文献

English spoken by people from different countries takes on different characteristics. Many linguists conducted researches on World Englishes. Focusing on the pronunciation,grammar, vocabulary and literature achievement, these studies present the target English's environment and features. However,there is rare achievement of study.in English in Vietnam. Under the economy boom, Vietnamese government attached importance to the English education, which led to the wide utilization of English.
