21世纪的中国体育文化与中国民族传统体育文化研究

面对人类文化日益趋向世界性与民族性的21世纪,中国体育文化的发展,应采取立足于本民族体育文化,向世界体育文化开放的战略.随着中国全面走向世界,中国体育文化也必将成为在当代世界产生重大影响的世界体育文化组成部分.中国民族传统体育研究应致力于挖掘中国民族传统体育中的民族精神,强化民族性,建设当代体育文化,并以此立于世界体育文化之中,为世界体育文化建设做出贡献.     

高等院校实施终身体育教育的研究

采用献资料法、专家访谈法、实验法，对高等院校实施终身体育教育的现状进行了研究，学生通过终专体育教育后体育意识、身体锻炼、体育能力和身体素质得到较为明显的提高，而且进行终身体育教育能有效激发学生长期进行科学地锻炼身体的积极性，为人才的可持续发展提供良好保证。     

新世纪体育的走向——娱乐与健康

由于历史的原因，自西方体育传入中国以来，一直受政治、军事的制约，而忽略了体育自身的人文内涵。娱乐与健康，是人类对体育的根本需求。本文论述了体育伴随着人类社会生产方式的发展而诞生和进步，在信息社会经济全球化的浪潮下，21世纪的体育与20世纪的体育相比，将更加注重娱乐与健康。     

The evolution of physique in male rugby union players in the twentieth century

Data on 1420 high-standard rugby union players measured between 1905 and 1999 were collated to chart the evolution of body size and shape in rugby union football. Individual data were available for 843 players. Where only summary statistics were presented, Monte Carlo simulation was used to generate pseudo-data. Anthropometric variables included height, body mass, body mass index (BMI) and somatotype where available. The rates of increase in body mass (2.6 kg per decade) and BMI (0.4 kg ·m -2 per decade) were well above those of the general population of young males. The increase in height (1.0 cm per decade) was comparable to the secular increase. The increases in body mass and BMI since 1975 have been three to four times those between 1905 and 1975. Since 1975, players have been less endomorphic (-0.3 units per decade) and less ectomorphic (-0.4 units per decade), but much more mesomorphic (+1.1 units per decade) than before. There is a close association between body size and success. Final ranking in the 1999 World Cup showed significant correlations with the average mass of the squads.

探讨了体育院校图书馆产业的科学内涵及其进入知识经济时代所具有的知识与信息的优势，阐明了体育院校图书馆走产业道路的必然性，揭示了体育院校图书馆实施知识产业化的体育固有特色，并提出了其实施的措施。     

中国体育文化的人文精神

中国的体育文化和西方存在着很大的差别，其中所蕴涵的人文精神也很独特，中国的体育人文精神主要表现在以人为本和天人合一两个方面，对它加以批判地继承和发展有利于新时期中国体育文化的良性化发展。     

The mythical Jim Thorpe: Re/presenting the twentieth century American Indian

This article examines the social significance of Jim Thorpe as a pivotal figure in twentieth-century American history, exploring representations of Thorpe in the context of his life and times, the entities that produced these representations, and the social consequences of their productions. In a century in which attitudes about, definitions of and policies towards Native Americans were dramatically reshaped, Thorpe's life story had tremendous popular appeal and symbolic significance for both Native Americans and non-Native Americans. A closer look at how this story was framed, by whom and for what purposes, offers critical insights into the role that representations played – and continue to play – in producing, legitimating and occasionally challenging systems of power and privilege in the United States.

对21世纪中国发展老年体育产业的必要性和可行性进行了分析,指出了制约老年体育产业发展的主要因素,并提出相应的对策和建议,旨在为我国老年体育产业的发展提供理论依据。

对新世纪以来我国农村体育研究文献进行分析，发现农村体育研究日益受到关注，研究内容广泛，研究队伍初步形成；但基础理论研究薄弱，深入的实证研究不够，发展对策的指导性和可操作性不强。建议将农村体育置于社会发展的大背景中观察，运用多学科知识对其进行综合性的研究，深入实际进行田野调查和个案研究，进一步突出农民的主体性，以全面建设小康社会为契机，开拓农村体育研究的新领域。
