“当”的语法化

"当"的语法化过程经历了"助动词—副词—连词"的发展路径和演变模式。在其语法化过程中,句法、语义、语用等因素均起着重要作用。就情态范畴而言,"当"是沿着"动力--道义--认识"的路线发展的,从语义机制来看,"当"从动词到助动词是隐喻在发挥作用,而从动力情态到道义情态、从道义情态到认识情态都是转喻在发挥作用。

英语情态动词的语义存在模糊性,给使用和理解造成了困难。情态动词多个义项之间存在着怎样的联系一直是困扰我们的问题。主观性是英语情态的重要特征,因而,本文从认知语言学的角度出发,从语法化理论,动力语义学框架和隐喻扩展理论来研究情态动词语义的历时演变和共时联系,为情态动词的语义分析提供新的视角。

情态作为一个语义范畴,它反映了说话人对所阐述内容的评价或态度。作为人际功能的语义载体,情态具有调节,维系和发展人际关系的特殊作用。本文在前人研究的基础上,重点从认知角度探讨认知因素对情态意义和功能的解释力,这不但可以丰富认知语言学的内容,而且也为情态的研究提供了一条新的思路,使我们对情态的发展及其前景有一个较为科学、系统的认识,从而超越逻辑和传统语法对情态研究注重语法形式研究的局面。

语篇中的情态系统及情态隐喻一直是系统功能语法研究的重点领域.文章试图从情态隐喻角度透视新闻报道中记者的交际意图,体现新闻语篇中复杂的语义内涵.     

副词“搞不好”的语义情态与分布验证

“搞不好”是活跃于汉语口语中的述补结构,后逐渐语法化为表示"揣测"义的副词。多年来,学界在副词“搞不好”的句法分布特点、语义情态、历时演变等方面取得了丰硕的研究成果,但也存在着句法分布描写不够精确、语义情态的归纳缺乏正反验证和系统解释等问题。文章以语义语法理论为指导,按照从句法分布特点到话语关联再到语义情态的顺序,概括出副词“搞不好”的话语关联为"因情估果",并正反验证副词“搞不好”的“担忧”或“乐观”情态,力图解决以上问题。     

汉语情态动词“能”语义演变的机制

本文以语法化理论为基础,考察了现代汉语情态动词“能”的语义演变路径及其演变机制。研究发现,情态动词“能”最初是表达动力情态的意义,然后由动力情态分别演变出道义情态和知识情态的意义。我们的研究还显示,推理是汉语情态动词“能”语义演变的主要机制,原来认为许多由隐喻机制所引发的语义演变,其实是由推理所引发的。     

英语方言中的双情态动词现象:主观化下情态语义的分化

在部分英语方言中出现的某些双情态动词结构中,情态语义发生了分化,获得重新调配:第一情态动词主要承载"推测"意义,主现化程度更加深化;第二情态动词主要传达其他一些"非推测"意义.本文在对其结构特征和情态意义表达进行分析的基础上,结合语法化的运行机制以及与语法化动因密切联系的"主观化"概念,揭示双情态动词结构语法化倾向。
