乡村教师的专业发展既能为乡村振兴提供优质教育,又能为乡村振兴构建活力文化,还可以为乡村振兴造就现代农民。所以,乡村教师的专业发展与乡村振兴战略的实现息息相关、休戚与共。然而,乡村教师队伍面临着为乡信念的缺失、乡土知识的匮乏以及内生能力的弱化等诸多现实困境,这将会直接影响乡村振兴战略的实施和成效。基于此,乡村教师需要从以下方面寻求专业发展的突围之径,以便更好地服务中国乡村振兴战略。首先,精心培植个人的为乡信念,强化专业素养的内驱动力;其次,努力扩充自身的乡土知识,重塑专业成长的美好蓝图;最后,积极发挥个体的主体作用,强化专业发展的内生能力。     

教学视频对概念性知识学习效果的影响——基于实物视频与动画视频的差异性影响比较

教学视频因其生动形象、易于理解的特质,在教学中得到了广泛的应用,但研究者较少对不同类型教学视频的教学效果进行比较研究。为此,文章基于认知负荷理论,以初中生为实验对象,以概念性知识为实验内容,从学习成绩、认知负荷和专注力三个角度探究了实物视频和动画视频对学习效果的不同影响,并分析了造成差异的原因。实验结果表明:在概念性知识学习中,动画视频在提高学习成绩、降低认知负荷方面优于实物视频,但这两种视频对学习者专注力的影响差异不显著。此结论可为探究不同类型教学视频的有效性、选择课堂教学视频提供参考,并对概念性知识的教学有一定的促进作用。     

But I want to fly too!: Girls and superhero play in the infant classroom

This article describes a study which was conducted in an inner-city school in the north of England, in a base which contained 57 children aged 6 and 7 years old. The purpose of the study was to explore the potential role of popular culture in the literacy curriculum. During the project, a socio-dramatic role-play area which was related to a popular superhero icon was set up in the classroom. Children's play in the area was recorded using a variety of methods, including field notes, video recording and photographs. Some of the previous research on superhero play has focused on the attraction the discourse has for boys or suggested that girls take on a non-female persona in such a play. The findings from this study suggest that superhero play is strongly attractive to girls, who explore agency and autonomy through such play and actively position themselves as females within a heroic discourse.     

'Your View of Nature is Not Mine!': Learning about pluralism in the classroom

This paper describes a multidisciplinary action research project that aimed to develop a theoretical framework and four exemplary teaching modules for elementary and secondary school that promote a pluralistic view on nature. In a 2-year study, researchers from three disciplines (pedagogy, sociology and philosophy) collaborated with curriculum developers and textbook authors. This paper presents the theoretical framework that was developed during the project. The teaching modules are described, and one of the modules is delineated. Finally, the results are discussed.

It was a challenge but we did it! Digital worlds in a primary classroom

In this article I explore one day in the life of a primary classroom in which teacher and children are playful social insiders in digital worlds. I argue that this snapshot offers glimmers of unimagined ways forward in teaching in digital worlds. The classroom culture is one of challenge, collective intelligence and reflection. The teacher's own history of participation is significant. She is a reflective teacher educator, children's literature is central to her teaching and her journey into digital worlds is playful social.     

It's about time! Repetition,fantasy, and the contours of learning from feminist pedagogy classroom breakdown

This paper explores feminist pedagogy classroom conflict through looking at how time, in a psychoanalytic sense, can rupture straightforward interpretations of manifest classroom dynamics. I use the concept of transference to consider how classroom conflict is complicated by the reliving and replaying of past conflicts in the pedagogical arena, a dynamic that is more unwieldy in feminist pedagogies that rely on personal experience and dialogue. Conflicted classroom experience can also reappear and be repeatedly relived in fantasy; I examine how fantasy can work as an ego defence at the same time that it can be a location for learning about the conflict that produced it. Finally, I draw on Freud's concept of deferred action to explore the haunting of difficult classroom experience. My central concerns lie in the difficulties of crafting learning from feminist pedagogy conflict and of arriving at a tolerable afterwards to such conflict.     

Development of turn and turn measurement concepts in a computer-based instructional unit

This study investigated the development of turn and turn measurement concepts within a computer-based instructional unit. We collected data within two contexts, a pilot test of this unit with four third graders and a field test in two third grade classrooms. We conducted paper-and-pencil assessments, interviews, and interpretive case studies. Turns were less salient for children than forward and back motions. Students evinced a progressive construction of imagery and concepts related to turns. They gained experience with physical rotations, especially rotations of their own bodies. In parallel, they gained limited knowledge of assigning numbers to certain turns, initially by establishing benchmarks. A synthesis of these two domains — turn-as-body-motion and turn-as-numbe — constituted a critical juncture in learning about turns for some students. Some common misconceptions, such as conceptualizing angle measure as a linear distance between two rays, were not in evidence. This supports the efficacy and usefulness of instructional activities such as those employed.     

MOOC视频的分类和吸引力研究

教学视频是MOOC学习经历的核心部分,其质量对学习者学习MOOC课程以及MOOC的发展至关重要。MOOC视频主要包括拍摄类视频和录屏类视频两大类,时长短小、语速较快、教师出镜率高的视频最吸引学习者。教师和视频制作人员应加强教学设计,根据教学内容和视频特点,采用适宜的视频组织和制作方式,合理切分视频,使每段视频控制在6-12分钟。     

Distributing and Showing Farmer Learning Videos in Bangladesh

Purpose: To describe the results of showing farmer learning videos through different types of volunteers.

Design/Methodology/Approach: Semi-structured interviews with volunteers from different occupational groups in Bangladesh, and a phone survey with 227 respondents.

Findings: Each occupational group acted differently. Shop keepers, tillage service providers, agricultural input and machine dealers reached fairly small audiences. Tea stall owners had large, male audiences. Non-governmental organisations and community-based organisations, reached more women. The cable TV (dish-line) operators showed the videos on local TV, but some were reluctant to do so again. The Union Information Service Centres showed the videos and reached women viewers. Half of the official government extension agents surveyed also showed the videos publically.

Practical Implication: This video featured maize, wheat and rice seeding machinery. Because the machinery is complex and requires hands-on training, this first video aimed to expose tillage and sowing service providers and farmers to the machinery, without trying to teach them how to use it. But some farmers were so interested that they watched the video many times to learn more about the equipment. Before farmers and service providers decide to buy machinery for direct seeding, they still want to see and learn from demonstration plantings, to examine first-hand how the crop behaves when planted with the new equipment.

Originality/Value: Video can be an effective way of sharing high-quality information with a large audience, if properly distributed.

A situative turn in the conversation on motivation theories

In this commentary I take a situative turn in the theoretical conversation around the question, “Why do people do what they do?” The first section describes in broad strokes what a situative perspective on motivation or engagement entails. Next, I comment on aspects of the five articles as they relate to the history and methods of socio-cognitive and situative approaches to understanding motives to learn. Then, using the central organizing framework of “meaning systems” in situative approaches, I suggest ways that a situative perspective might contribute to ongoing work in the five motivation theories and how some of the authors take steps in that direction.

Scapegoating and conflict in the classroom: A resolution through classroom discussions

Summary As is often the case for the counsellor, initial referrals when explored further lead to other issues. In this paper, a methodology was presented for dealing with scapegoating problems and a negative classroom atmosphere. The methodology involved the use of structured questions designed to help children: explore problem areas, express feelings, understand conflicts and activate the motivation to change and act positively. The sequencing of the format is important in that it allows for movement and transformation of thoughts and feelings. In addition, particular attention was paid to entry and exit stages and to shifts from self to other, facts to problems and problems to solutions. The model is easily understood by teachers and after a few modelling sessins by the counsellor most are able to use it on their own with minimal supervision.University of British ColumbiaThis article will also be published in Elementary School Guidance and Counseling, a journal of APGA.     

‘Shoot for the moon!’ Students' identities as writers in the context of the classroom

A study of students' identities as writers was carried out in the classroom of a New Zealand primary teacher who had been formally identified by a national body of teachers as having excellent practice in supporting literacy acquisition. The researchers, Professor Janice Wearmouth, from the University of Bedfordshire, Mere Berryman, from the University of Waikato, New Zealand, and Lisa Whittle, from the Department of Conservation, Wellington, New Zealand, aimed to compare high and low literacy achievers' identities as writers within the context of this teacher's pedagogy and the learning environment of her classroom. The researchers concluded that all students, both high and low achievers, were developing very positive writing identities in a context where the teacher's method of supporting her students' writing was very well planned through a process‐writing approach. This teacher had a very high degree of subject and pedagogical content knowledge and an acute awareness of her students' literacy learning needs. Her approach had an immediacy of responsiveness in relation to every student's learning and, above all, had recognition of the overwhelming importance of positive relationships in the classroom, teacher to student and peer to peer.
