Social Philosophy of Sport: A Critical Interpretation*

In this article I argue both that an understanding of sport’s general character as competitive play can help us to read Homer more insightfully and that this reading can boomerang back to us to further illuminate the sport as competitive play thesis. My overall method is that of (Rawlsian) reflective equilibrium. The three sections of Homer that I examine are the Phaiacian games in Book 8 of the ‘Odyssey’, the Patroclos games in Book 23 of the ‘Iliad’, and the Penelope games in Books 21–22 of the ‘Odyssey’.

体育哲学与二元论--体育哲学研究范式的重建与实践

由于体育哲学诞生以来分析主义哲学的研究范式占据了主导性地位,概念化思维方式影响了当前中西体育哲学研究基本走向与研究内容,从而导致了体育哲学的生发一直处于与二元论的对峙之中。基于科学研究范式理论的视角转换,在现象学范式下二元论转变为积极推进体育哲学研究范式变革的反常现象。借助现象学的理论襄助,体育哲学在经过"普通现象学转化"与"普通现象学-知觉现象学""普通现象学-历史现象学"两条前后相继的思想通路后,形成了新式体育哲学研究范式的框架与研究范例,使体育与二元论紧张关系逐渐疏解,并在知觉与记忆两个层面进行重建,形成了体育哲学的现象学范式的理论核心、解释性原则与应用性方法,进而实现体育哲学在研究视角、研究路径上的变革,形成中西交融的体育哲学研究学脉基础。     

体育收藏研究述评及其展望

体育收藏研究已成为当前一个充满活力的学术领域,属于新兴交叉学科研究范畴。从综合著述与学术论文两个层面对现有研究成果进行了分析,采用分层次、先述后评而后进行总体综合评价的方式,对我国的体育收藏研究进行了述评。分析了体育收藏研究的主要成果及其取得的成绩,同时也指出了研究视角、研究方法、研究内容以及研究力量等方面存在的不足,并以此为依据对体育收藏研究的发展提出了建议。     

The Philosophy of Sport

Philosophy as a discipline is typically characterized through the use of rigorous argument and analysis, and the clarification of the meaning of concepts. Philosophical problems are thus resolved, not through the appeal to empirical evidence, but by identifying inconsistent and confusing patterns of thought and reflection. This paper will clarify the nature of a philosophical methodology by explicating the relationship between the philosophy of sport and the core traditional areas of philosophy, metaphysics, epistemology, axiology and logic.     

发展体育收藏,弘扬体育文化——兼评《体育收藏文化博览》

《体育收藏文化博览》是由我国体育收藏界著名学者蓝翔与李祥合著的专门性学术著作.在剖析该书描述性史实多而学术性探讨少、研究引导性突出而策略指导性缺失以及研究内容“薄古厚今”等特点基础上,从体育收藏的内涵、发展趋势以及实践策略指导等三个维度对体育收藏文化进行了深入探讨,以期为我国体育收藏事业的健康、可持续发展提供借鉴.     

Women,Sport, and the Press in Twentieth-Century Mexico

Abstract

The concept of women engaging in physical recreation was anathema to late nineteenth-century Mexican society. While underlying scepticism continued throughout the decades that followed, post-Revolutionary reforms provided a surprisingly open arena within which both men and women could practice sport. We analyze how the issue of gender influenced these reforms and the degree to which this affected popular participation in sports. Identifying media coverage as a barometer of broader society’s perceptions of female sporting activity, we consider the salient trends in the Mexican press, how these changed over time, and the ways in which female journalists approached women’s sport. Our findings suggest the need for caution in leaping to gender-based assumptions and provide evidence that, in some respects, male journalists became more enlightened than their female counterparts in confronting underlying prejudices.
