研训一体体制下的教研工作

研训一体就是将教师研修和教师培训有机结合。教研是培训的基础,只有深研,方能笃训,研训一体体制下,教研工作不可削弱。本文就研训一体体制下的教研工作的模式、价值取向以及如何开展教研工作进行探讨。     

A New Disciplinarity: Communities of knowledge,learning and practice

The welcome new attention paid to subject teaching should have bridged the old divide between pedagogical and disciplinary research. But this paper argues that the focus on subject, rather than disciplinary communities is part of the commodification of higher education; that what is needed to re-energise both teachers and students is an inclusive new model of disciplinary education based on an engaged community's processes and practices. Each discipline, it is proposed, will model differently its practices, knowledge creation and dissemination, its writing, its community. The model may change received ideas about the focus and central concerns of the discipline, and in modelling disciplinary learning will change teaching and assessment. The model will be discipline specific and, as such, will resist generic and imposed 'skills and outcomes' frameworks. Evolving out of practice, rather than an external agenda, it should link disciplinary and pedagogical research so that they are mutually informing and transforming.

Research‐led teaching: moving from a fractured engagement to a marriage of convenience

There are many reasons to develop closer links between research and teaching. To do this, we argue the need to move beyond university rhetoric that fractures the engagement of teaching with research and instead focus on the development of what is necessary to bring these two core academic activities closer together. Opening with a review of the current literature on research‐led teaching, the paper then highlights the various debates about whether or not the divide between research and teaching can be broached. We then explore a number of often contradictory myths that we argue universities subscribe to in their efforts to bring teaching and research together as they simultaneously create structures to separate them. The paper seeks to better ‘marry’ research and teaching activities in higher education settings, concluding with a set of principles that could be used by university leaders to guide the implementation of research‐led teaching.

Who's afraid of research questions? The neglect of research questions in the methods literature and a call for question-led methods teaching

This paper examines the place of research questions in the teaching of research methods. It describes the neglect of research questions in both methods texts and the wider academic literature, but notes that this situation is not peculiar to educational research and that similar concerns have been raised in the social sciences more widely, as well as in the humanities. It explores some possible explanations for this neglect and argues that the lack of attention paid to research questions may be related to the availability of appropriate resources, the structure and content of methods texts and the way some research is conducted and presented. Question-led methods teaching is presented as both a logical approach to the teaching of research design and data analysis and also a strategy that may help to overcome some of the weaknesses in current practice. It is argued that focusing on research questions can encourage capacity-building among new researchers and may discourage the early formation of ‘mono-method’ identities.

当前教学论研究:热点与沉思

教学世界自身的演变发展历程决定了教学世界不能简单地回归生活世界,而是在生活世界的基础上超越生活世界。因此,作为教学世界核心的课堂既要传承知识,更要激扬生命,即由知识课堂走向生命课堂。与此相适应,当前教学论研究范式不能迷恋书斋文献,而是要热衷于课堂实践,即研究范式从"文本式"向"田野式"转向;教学理论来源不要仅停留在思辨演绎层面,而是要实践生成,即从理论教学论到实践教学论;研究取向不应只追求宏大理论,而是要关注教学生活,即研究取向由"科学泛化"趋向"泛学科化"。

Mission Creep and Teaching at the Master's University

Abstract

The accusation of mission creep at master's institutions is not erroneous. It has been occurring for decades. The imitation of the research universities by other institutions is not good for the institutions, for their faculty members, or for the cause of college teaching. Research and scholarship need to be differentiated so that scholarliness, not research activity, is seen as the foundation for good teaching. The model master's institution professor will engage in modest amounts of disciplinary research, as a complement to, not as a support or replacement for, scholarly teaching and scholarly engagement with the community.     

世纪初我国教学论学科发展的问题与走向

在世纪之初,教学论学科建设在原有基础上取得了新进展,但也存在着基本概念模糊不清、研究对象尚不明确,教学论研究功利化倾向等问题。为了走出教学论学科发展的误区,实现教学论的科学化、现代化、中国化,教学论学科发展应兼顾“学科体系”建设和“问题研究”并举,分化研究和整合研究并重,积极探索对话合作机制、构建研究共同体,加强教学论学科制度建设,注重教学论研究者知识分子精神的自我形塑。     

Teaching to enhance research

In this paper, I present a conceptual argument for ‘teaching-led research’ in which university lecturers construct courses that directly and positively influence their research, while at the same time, safeguard and enhance the student experience. A research-pedagogy for higher education considers the link between teaching and research, but rather than the more usual conception of research-led teaching, in which teaching is enhanced by research, it becomes teaching-led research in which research is enhanced by teaching. I argue that this idea is foundational to the modern research university, but also difficult to realize unless teaching and learning are designed for these ends. A potential model is teaching undergraduates as researchers with students learning by doing research and I present a case study from a science degree programme. I conclude by anticipating the likely cultural and political barriers to teaching-led research and suggest how tensions can be managed.     

Faculty Entrepreneurialism and the Challenge to Undergraduate Education at Research Universities

This study attempts to unravel the complex relationships between faculty entrepreneurialism and teaching. Specifically, this study (1) compares the extent of entrepreneurial activities (i.e., using funds for research and consulting activity) across disciplinary fields and levels of teaching commitment and (2) examines the relative effects of faculty entrepreneurialism on commitment to teaching. Using a national database of four-year college faculty, research findings demonstrate variations of teaching commitment with respect to disciplinary fields and forms of entrepreneurial activities. More important, this study reveals rather strong negative relationships between using funds for research and teaching commitment. Such findings have important implications for policy makers, administrative leaders, and university faculty as they seek to balance the institution's instructional mission in light of the increasing trend toward entrepreneurialism.     

高校公共英语分级教学研究综述

随着近些年来各高校公共英语教学改革的开展,对分级教学的研究越来越受到关注和重视。文章回顾了分级教学在国内外的发展历史,对国内高校公共英语分级教学的研究成果在理论依据、分级模式以及分级的成效和存在的问题等方面进行了分类和总结,并指出了目前研究的一些不足和待改进之处：理论研究不够全面和深入;实证研究对象较单一、数据采集的范围较小;综合性研究缺乏多维度、跨学科的深入拓展研究。     

生物医学信号处理课程研究性教学的探索与实践

研究性教学是近年来高等教学改革的方向,在学界中已经基本达成共识。本文就如何在生物医学信号处理课程中开展研究性教学进行了总结。教学实践表明,在教材、教学方法与手段、习题题型设计以及教学评价机制等教学环节上结合多种教学措施,是在该课程中实施研究性教学的有效途径,可以提高课程教学效果,培养学生主动探究的能力。     

我国探究教学研究综述

我国探究教学研究可以分为理论研究与实践研究两方面。在理论方面,从研究问题来看,主要研究了探究教学的涵义、价值、理论基础、类型、特点、条件、要素、模式、设计、实施与评价、师资培训等问题;从研究视角来看,主要有教育学视角、心理学视角、哲学视角、学科视角、比较视角等。在实践方面,主要研究了探究教学程序、案例研析、影响因素、存在问题与建议等方面的问题。我国探究教学研究的趋势是:构建高水准的探究教学理论体系,探究教学理论研究与实践研究的融合发展,探究教学研究方法的多元化和内在化。     

行动研究——实现中学英语教师教学与科研的一体化

中学英语教师普遍面临着科研困境。要解决科研难题,中学英语教师应通过行动研究,联系日常的实际教学,利用丰富的教学经验,达到教学与科研的紧密结合。行动研究是实现中学英语教师教学与科研一体化的最直接,最实际的方法。
