作为一种全新的网络社交服务手段,"微博"(Twitter)大大超越了"博客"对用户的种种限制;其强大的功能迎合了青年人在现实生活中无法满足的需求,因而很快风靡全球。如何有效利用"微博"的优势开展思想政治教育,同时避免其可能带来的消极后果,对思想政治教育工作构成挑战。研究表明,运用"微博"开展思想政治教育工作不仅是必要的,而且可以站在发展的潮头来拓展思想政治教育工作的领域,提高思想政治教育工作的针对性和有效性。 相似文献

微博是基于用户关系的信息分享与获取平台.与SNS不同,微博的传播模式是一种裂变式和多中心式传播;从传播效果看,微博在短期内极易形成焦点轰动效应,长期影响渗透力强,但平民效应差;微博传播碎片化明显、信息量庞杂,内容丰富,信息传播自由,但需要“把关人”介入,传播机制需要改进. 相似文献

The expression “big data” is ubiquitous in the business world today, but few undergraduate business students have the opportunity to gain practical experience with how new business analytics tools can be used in decision making. This article describes a set of hands‐on labs that prepare students to incorporate streaming data analysis into group research projects. Splunk is used to help students analyze and visualize streaming social media data. An evaluation of student projects and student survey results show that this practical approach of training students to manipulate and visualize big data was largely successful in achieving instructional goals. 相似文献

Gender differences in participation were examined across four Twitter chats for social studies teachers. Analyses drawing on mixed methods revealed that while there was parity across most kinds of tweets, participants identified as men were more likely to use the examined Twitter chats to share resources, give advice, boast, promote their own blog/resource/website, and offer critique to another participants' tweet. Participants identified as women were more likely to write tweets that included positive affirmations for other chat participants. These findings suggest that there are differences in the way that women and men tend to participate in teacher Twitter chat spaces. 相似文献

Social networking sites provide opportunities for informal and social learning of academic practices in higher education, yet not all academics engage in these spaces. This qualitative study suggests that while Twitter offers informal opportunities for academic development, inhibiting factors prevent staff from establishing their social presence and participating in conversations on academic Twitter. In a pervasively digital era, rethinking academic development practices is required to build digital capacity and digital identity of staff to support participation on social networking sites for academic learning and development. 相似文献

This study employed data mining and quantitative methods to collect and analyze the available histories of primary Twitter accounts of institutions of higher education in the U.S. (n?=?2411). The study comprises a sample of 5.7 million tweets, representing 62 % of all tweets created by these accounts and the entire population of U.S. colleges and universities. With this large, generalizable dataset, researchers were able to determine that the preponderance of institutional tweets are 1) monologic, 2) disseminate information (vs. eliciting action), 3) link to a relatively limited and insular ecosystem of web resources, and 4) express neutral or positive sentiment. While prior research suggests that social media can serve as a vehicle for institutions to extend their reach and further demonstrate their value to society, this article provides empirical and generalizable evidence to suggest that such innovation, in the context of institutional social media use, is limited. 相似文献

Using social media platforms to build informal learning processes and social networks is significant in academic development practices within higher education. We present three vignettes illustrating academic practices occurring on Twitter to show that using social media is beneficial for building networks of academics, locally and globally, enhancing information flows, inspiring thinking, and motivating academic practice. Using a reflective and diffractive methodology, we illuminate how different flows of forces and relations are enacted. We argue it is in this fluidity of informal learning that perspectives are contested and shaped, and that academic developers can benefit by encompassing such practices. 相似文献

During 1991 BTEC (the Business & Technology Education Council) researched into how far design programmes in colleges in North East and North West England were meeting employer needs. The research involved gathering information from colleges in the regions, and from employers. A selected sample of employers were consulted and their perceptions of design education and training matched against the range of provision available. At the same time employers were asked to comment on how they used design within their organisations and from where they recruited designers. Set against a background of economic recession, the research gave rise to some interesting findings. In particular, it highlighted the move toward more broad-based and multi-disciplinary provision in some colleges as a response to employer demand for designers who were flexible and adaptable. Transferability was seen as important by both colleges and employers for fighting recession. Design courses that had originally been set up to answer specific industry needs were now having to adopt a wider remit to place students in employment. 相似文献
