深化图书馆服务功能 推动“知识工程”展开

图书馆历来就是人们学习知识，提高文化素质的知识殿堂，如何在“知识工程”活动中更好发挥主阵地作用，本文从加强图书馆基础业务、加强阵地服务、加强协作、面向基层等方面方面进行了探讨。     

不可放弃“知识服务”——对图书馆核心能力“知识服务”问题的思辩

本文通过对《不可轻言“知识服务”》论点的评析,认为：图书馆的文献信息服务在本质上是一种知识服务。文章分析了“知识服务”作为图书馆核心能力的特殊内涵,并对图书馆开展“知识服务”可能会引发“问题”的言论进行了思辩。结论是：“知识服务”不可不言,更不能放弃。

运用零数据破除信息茧房的研究

大数据分析和云计算技术的发展催生出的智能推荐虽然一定程度给读者的阅读带来了便捷,但计算机信息处理的局限性会导致读者获取信息的范围习惯性受自己短时期内的兴趣引导,以至于获取信息不断收敛,就像蚕茧一般被困于"茧房"之中成为信息孤岛。为破除信息茧房这一困境,文章采用逆向思维提出零数据,以零数据和信息茧房文献调研为基础,分析了零数据破除信息茧房的本质,从零数据的获取、定性运用、交叉领域共享运用、创新推荐运用等方面提出了运用零数据破除信息茧房的策略。     

体验评价文章抽取模型研究*

提出一种体验评价性文章判定、抽取模型,并构造原型系统完成博客体验评价文章抽取的评价实验。该模型基于文章的基本表现特征和简单的规则,不需要进行详细的语法语义分析,只需以文章中出现的体验对象、体验行为、体验评价描述短语三者搭配强度和距离来计算、判定文章是否为体验评价性文章。评价实验结果表明基于该模型的系统具有较高的抽取精度。     

An Australian Law Librarian's Experience in London

Summary

This article details the author's experience as the fortunate incumbent of the second Visiting Fellowship in Law Librarianship at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London, during the summer of 1999. The experience, one of the most rewarding of the author's career, was a unique combination of teaching and learning. The most satisfying outcome of the experience was to see the birth this year of http://www.bailli.org, providing free access to British and Irish legal information, with the assistance of the Australian Legal Information Institute. The development of such a service was the main research interest of the author during the fellowship, and to see its inception so soon far exceeded expectations and proves that this is the type of international cooperation that the Institute fellowships can foster. An edited version of this article is being simultaneously published in 7 Australian Law Librarian 281 (1999).     

Google Scholar Usage: An Academic Library's Experience

Google Scholar is a free service that provides a simple way to broadly search for scholarly works and to connect patrons with the resources libraries provide. The researchers in this study analyzed Google Scholar usage data from 2006 for three library tools at San Francisco State University: SFX link resolver, Web Access Management proxy server, and ILLiad interlibrary loan server. Overall, the data suggested that Google Scholar had become a very useful resource in the library and was a significant addition to the library's collection of research databases. SFX data revealed requests from Google Scholar grew ten-fold from 2006 to 2011, and that Google Scholar became the top-ranked SFX source for requests in 2011. Library patrons favored Google Scholar over San Francisco State University's federated search tool, MetaLib, and it has become an important source for interlibrary loan requests. Analysis of San Francisco State University usage data will assist other libraries in their decisions about the implementation of Google Scholar.

我是1989年10月从北京广播学院调进中国广播电视学会的。职务是常务副秘书长．协助秘书长赵水福同志处理学会的日常工作。1991年11月在第二届理事会议上匀选秘书长．1997年4月第二届理事会届满离任。吴冷西会长把1986年10月至1997年4月这十年．称作学会的“始创时期“。这个时期．有一些工作印象较深．这里作一点回忆。     

从微观研究入手实现文献资源合理布局

The library collection development belongs to the microcosmic research of documentary resources development.The work of starting with the collection developments of various library and information departments and then making certain the features of the collection composition is the prerequisite and the foundation of the coordination work.The paper introduces the state of collectionn development research of the Library of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and suggests that a manual for the collection development should be drawn up which will integrate the macroscopic documentary layout with the microcosmic collection development in order to determine the principles of collecting decuments under various conditions assured for funds.tab.3 ref.10     

An Institutional Repository Experience at a Large Health Care System

Institutional repositories (IRs) collect, preserve, and disseminate the scholarly output of an organization. Though common in academic settings, they are less so in hospitals or health care systems. The librarians for Aurora Health Care decided to create a primarily citation-level IR to organize and promote the scholarly output of Aurora faculty, residents, and fellows using the proprietary software Digital Commons, a product of the company bepress. The repository also hosts a newly published peer-reviewed journal and includes digitized historical images and institutional memorabilia. Suggested alternatives are given for hospitals or health care systems that may not currently be able to pursue a full-fledged IR.     

An Intern's Experience at the Great Lakes Resources Sharing Conference

This article chronicles the involvement of an intern working and attending the 2017 Great Lakes Resource Sharing Conference (GLRSC) in Oak Brook, Illinois. GLRSC primarily targets library professionals interested in various forms of cross collaboration within their communities and/or college campuses. Ideas in the areas of open educational resources (OER) and new strategies for interlibrary loan were discussed. As part of the planning process, the interns were required to attend virtual planning meetings, to set up the signage and technology, and to provide social media and technical support during the presentations. This was a positive experience to those interested in emerging technologies and differing avenues of resource sharing, and was also great exposure to the practice of organizing a large-scale library conference.
