略论王先谦的教育思想与实践

王先谦是湖南近代史上公认的教育界领袖人物之一.他的教育思想与实践有力地推动了湖南近代教育事业的发展.在民族危机日益深重的年代,王先谦从"中体西用、致用于世"的教育理念出发认识到传统教育的弊端,努力倡导教育革新,反对科举取士制度,主张废八股和学习西方科技知识;在长期的治学和教学实践中,坚持"兼收并蓄、不唯门户"的思想,培养了众多出色的湖湘学子.

王先谦系中国近代著名学者、作家、教育家，亦是湖南一师第一任校长及其前身城南书院最后一任山长。他虽为官多年，但教育实践贯通一生；虽政治上保守，但教育思想与时俱进。

王先谦一生中最主要的成就在学术文化、教育事业上。任祭酒期间,对国子监进行改革;归乡后,增设西学内容革新中国传统教育,并向学部奏请新的留学方案。但因他对儒家文化、封建王权的坚守,采取经世致用及中体西用的策略,注定其教育改革的成效不大。晚清政府处于内忧外患之际,无暇顾及留学策略的调整,最终导致新的留学方案未能实施。在王先谦从传统教育走向新式教育的改革历程中,可看出他归乡前后两种教育改革理念的矛盾与冲突。

王先谦（1842-1917）,清末学者。湖南长沙人。字益吾。因宅名葵园,学人称为葵园先生。曾有史学家、经学家、训诂学家、实业家等称号。

刘凤苞,湖南常德人,清代庄子散文研究家、诗人。同治四年进士,授翰林院庶吉士。历任云南省云南府禄丰县知县、元江直隶州知州、大理府知府、永昌府知府、顺宁府知府等,后因事遭黜。晚年积极致力于地方文化与教育事业,撰修《桃源县志》,主讲常德朗江书院,担任长沙城南书院山长。一生与王闿运和王先谦等交往密切。     

找准发展方向，加快农业工业化进程——湖南省县、乡（镇）、村企业职业素质亟待提高的对策与措施

加快工业化进程是有条件的，湖南是一个传统的农业大省，工业经济比较落后，本文针对湖南的实际，提出了湖南要加快工业化进程还是要在“农”字上唱大戏，“乡”字上做文章，调整农业结构，改造和发展县、乡（镇）、村企业，提高职工素质，建立具有中国特色的企业教育，培养出与现代农业和农业工业化相适应的现代农民，实现农业文明向工业文明转轨。

对《湖南教育》，我是有着深厚感情的。我不仅每期必读，而且在上面画了很多圈圈点点。《湖南教育》在教学上给了我不少的帮助，我感谢《湖南教育》。
