医学本科生大学英语写作策略调查

论文以某医学本科院校为例,通过问卷及访谈的方式,利用数据分析研究了该校低年级本科生在英语写作过程中采取的策略,及不同水平学习者采取写作策略的差异.研究发现:医学本科生广泛地对写作前与写作后的策略使用不足,同时,英语水平高低学习者对写作策略的使用存在显著差异.     

A Study of the EFL Writing of Chinese Learners: A Critical Narrative

Writing is often a massive challenge for the learners who study English as a Foreign Language (EFL). Many EFL practitioners are searching for solutions to help learners improve the level of their writing. In this auto-ethnographic study, two narratives are discussed. In the first narrative, the primary challenges of EFL writing encountered by a cohort of Chinese international students studying in Australia are narrated and then examined from the perspective of a Chinese EFL researcher. In the second narrative, the author’s personal experiences of EFL writing are recounted, with a focus on dialogical awareness and identity construction of an EFL writer. The interactive relationship for EFL learners between English learning and identity construction is discussed. In conclusion, the author reflects upon a dialogic model of EFL teaching and learning in the Chinese cultural context and calls for the setting up of interactive contact zones to help the identity construction of Chinese learners in their EFL writing practices as well as in EFL teaching and learning.

EFL学习者在学术写作中还面临着诸多问题,突出表现在写作文体非正式性、过分强调写作＂成品＂性自主性动机匮乏上。在此情况下,实施以＂过程写作法＂为中心的学术写作教学势在必行。＂过程写作法＂大致包括六个写作阶段,其反馈方式主要有三种（教师编辑、同伴编辑及自我编辑）。正确实施运用＂过程写作法＂可以提高EFL学习者的英语学术写作能力。     

高校学生英语写作中的搭配能力分析

搭配不仅是语言学习的重要内容之一,也是语言教学的一大难点。外语学习者的搭配使用能力直接影响着其中介语的地道性、流利性和准确性。本文以搭配理论为依据,对高校学生英语写作中出现的不同的搭配使用情况进行分析研究,讨论学生使用错误搭配的原因,从而得出启示,以求在今后的教学中得以改进。     

中国学生英语习语习得模式研究

本研究以代表三个不同英语水平的98名英语专业本科生为受试,对其进行了三类英语习语产出性知识和接受性知识的测试。通过对收集数据的初步定量分析,发现:(1)整体而言,英语习语的接受性知识显著大于产出性知识,两者皆会随着英语水平的提高而增长,其差距也会随着英语水平的提高而缩小;(2)因习语类别的不同,接受性知识和产出性知识的大小、差距,以及增长速度、增长阶段皆有所不同;(3)无论把三类习语作为一个整体还是分开来看,其产出性知识和接受性知识显著相关,随着接受性知识的增长,产出性知识也会显著增长。最后,研究者从学习环境和词汇习得的认知机制两方面对调查结果的可能原因进行了探讨。

A Comparative Study on English Pronunciation and Phonology of Chinese EFL Learners

Pronunciation often gets ignored over grammar and vocabulary in EFL programs.However,words stressed incorrectly or with inappropriate pitch or intonation will impede the learner in getting the intended message across.Phonology,then,should be an integral part of any EFL lesson.This paper examines the current situation of English pronunciation of Chinese students and aiming to present a procedural approach for incorporating phonological elements into an EFL syllabus.     

对中国英语学习者在议论文写作中选词错误的研究——基于语料库的调查

研究关注中国英语学习者在英语议论文写作中的选词错误情况,研究者从“北京语言大学中国学生英语笔语语料库”中选取了两组不同水平学习者的语料进行比较调查。参考James（1998）对词汇错误的分类,研究者把语料中的选词错误分为7类：误用形近词、误用固定搭配、从母语直译、凭空造词、误用近义词、错误理解词的指示义和具体语境选词不当。通过分析数据,研究者发现了两组不同水平学习者在选词错误方面的一些特点和差异,并且有针对性地对英语词汇教学和写作教学提出了一些建议。

Emergent Target Language Identities Among Latino English Language Learners

During 2nd language acquisition, a learner’s identity is consigned, juxtaposed, coconstructed, and reified through various affective positions and mitigating linguistic behaviors. Our study of adult Latino ESL students in Dallas, Texas, shows how language socialization experiences are shaped by the learners’ affective stances toward the project of learning and using the English language. Students reflected on how their specific social barriers created conditions that impeded interaction with interlocutors who could potentially aid their socialization process in English.

Pairing Fiction and Nonfiction Texts to Promote Literacy and Language Development of Adolescent English Learners

Abstract

Based on the relevant research that highlights the impact of pairing fiction and nonfiction texts around a specific theme or a topic for enhanced motivation and reading comprehension for English learners (ELs), this article describes ways to combine texts of various genres to promote ELs’ language and literacy development. A middle school example of a lesson on chocolate exemplifies how pairing a number of fiction and nonfiction texts supports differentiation and multiple opportunities for writing.     

论认知语境视角下英语思维方式对EFL学习者的重要性

思维与语言密切相关,思维对人类的语言形式具有重要的影响。思维支配语言,并且不同民族有着不同的语言文化和思维方式。而在EFL学习过程中,英语思维方式却常常被忽略,因此造成了学习过程中的诸多困难。本文以关联理论的语境观——"认知语境"为基础,通过对EFL学习者认知语境的分析,阐明了EFL学习者认知语境的主要来源,并通过英汉思维方式的对比揭示了英语思维方式在EFL学习过程中的重要性。最后,本文就如何在EFL学习者的认知语境中建构完善的英语思维方式提出了若干建议,旨在帮助学习者们更好地掌握并运用英语这门语言。
