Abstract: The objective of this study was to provide the person in charge and food safety instructors an assessment tool to help characterize, identify strengths and weaknesses, determine the completeness of the knowledge gained by the employee, and evaluate the level of content presentation and usability of current retail food safety training platforms. An existing evaluation tool was modified to assess online food safety training programs that contained 5 areas of emphasis: content and instruction, learners, job transfer, design and packaging, and operation. Participation included watching 3 food safety training modules and afterwards evaluate what degree the module content met objectives. More than 85% of the participants responded positively to the scale‐based items of the course evaluation. Items addressing the content and instruction received positive responses. The assessment tool helped panelists to objectively evaluate an online food safety training program that provided numeric data for a valid comparison.  相似文献

This paper reports an experimental evaluation of a children's safety training programme,Kidscape, which aims to increase primary school children's ability to deal with four types of potentially unsafe situation: being bullied, being approached by a stranger, being subject to inappropriate intimacy from a known adult and to pressure from such adults to keep such intimacy secret. Assessments of children's safety awareness were carried out in three schools which used the programme, and in three matched control schools which did not, with children at two age levels, 6 years and 10 years. These assessments of children's awareness were made on three occasions: before, immediately after and 2‐3 months after the training programme for the experimental sample (60 children) and on corresponding occasions for the control sample (60 children). The results revealed a significant improvement in the safety awareness of the experimental (trained) group after training and also a significant difference between the groups, in favour of the trained group. However, an improved performance of the control (untrained) group suggests that factors other than the Kidscape programme itself may influence these differences. Age differences in children's wariness of the four safety situations are also discussed.  相似文献

通过分析学生顶岗实习中容易出现的安全问题,结合企业生产安全管理制度和学校有关管理制度,提出了合作教育顶岗实习安全管理的具体措施:加强安全意识教育;加强工作过程中的监督和管理;实习考核与安全状况相挂钩;建立学生安全管理机构;建立实习活动记录制度;加强后期安全保障。根据生产实际,与企业共同制定相关制度并在具体实习中试行,取得了良好的效果。  相似文献

Summative evaluation is defined as the process of determining the value, effectiveness, or efficiency of an object to form a decision–making basis about that object. In this article, we present an overview of one major aspect of summative evaluation–the planning process–and then present essays on five topics that we believe are difficult issues most often faced in the conduct of summative evaluation. These five topics are: (a) client commitment to evaluation; (b) evaluating the training organization; (c) evaluating management training; (d) institutionalizing the evaluation process; and (e) the conduct of cost benefit studies.  相似文献

Internships play a pivotal role in the future of school psychology, and internship training is influenced by disciplinary trends including (a) an increased focus on accountability and demonstrating the positive impact of trainees' practices on student outcomes and (b) growing emphasis on scientifically based and empirically based practice. These influences also include greater sophistication in decision making as well as different ways of outcome‐focused decision making. System‐wide approaches such as Positive Behavior Support (PBS) and response to intervention (RTI) require high training demands to develop intervention‐related decision and accountability skills. Programmatically, accountability systems to meet the training needs of intervention services require scaling up. This article describes a multiyear developmental project bringing diverse universities together to institutionalize a statewide system of accountability. We share data from 3 years (N of interns = 278) and suggest recommendations for outcome‐oriented evaluation for other universities, agencies, school psychological services delivery units, or states. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

Abstract: This article describes an innovative assessment tool designed to evaluate the effectiveness of a food safety skills curriculum for learners receiving special education services. As schools respond to the increased demand for training students with special needs about food safety, the need for effective curricula and tools is also increasing. A Food Safety Education for High School and Transition Special Needs Students curriculum served as the basis upon which our assessment tool was developed. The project was a collaborative effort by food safety and education professionals in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. This USDA‐funded initiative emerged from teacher‐generated data that identified critical gaps in food safety knowledge and skills among students with disabilities (SWD) receiving special education services. As an adjunct to this curriculum, a Food Safety Practices Assessment Tool was developed to: 1) conduct observations of students as they demonstrate food safety practices, and 2) use this information to design classroom‐based learning activities that are aligned with students’ Individual Education Plans (IEP). Pilot data suggest that the tool is valid and reliable for use in a kitchen‐based setting. This is the first known tool of its kind to test food safety skills of individuals with special needs in a real‐world environment. Further testing is needed to determine the usefulness of the tool for broader audiences.  相似文献

依据安全工程专业的专业定位和培养目标,本文重点分析了2008版安全工程专业的研究型本科教学的方案。该方案提出了坚持矿业安全特色、兼顾工业安全的总体建设思路,采用“5+3”培养模式设立课程体系,强化基础;缩减课堂教学学时数,降低毕业最低学分数;设置研讨课程、双语课程和特色课程,优化课程结构;采取开展学科前沿讲座、本科生导师制培养、大学生科研训练计划、实验课独立开设并预约实验等措施,开创研究型本科教学。  相似文献

This article focuses on discourses of child safety and protection of stakeholder organisations (SOs) and school pastoral care co-ordinators (PCCs) on educating young people about sexting. Individual semi-structured interviews were conducted with the representatives of four organisations who assist schools in the delivery of Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE); and with three PCCs in three different types of secondary schools in Northern Ireland to ascertain how their school educates and responds to sexting. Focus groups were also conducted with 17 (10 girls and 7 boys) 16–17-year-olds to explore their views on sexting. The results of this study reveal that the predominant discourse in RSE is child safety and protection, and abstention from sexting. The three main groups (young people, SOs and PCCs) vary, however, in how they view sexting behaviour: the stakeholders are largely cautious and counsel against sending sexual pictures, while the young people regard it as normal behaviour. RSE provided by the schools is inadequate and unrealistic, and does not represent what actually goes on in young people’s sexual lives. Young people want to be consulted on the content of RSE lessons and resources; and RSE content should desist from telling them not to sext and enable them to explore appropriate relationship behaviours, including sexting. Teachers should feel confident in teaching such material and should have access to appropriate training.  相似文献

The creation of a federal Safe Schools/Healthy Students (SS/HS) Initiative reflects a growing level of concern across the United States that many children do not feel safe at school, and that teachers must receive a new level of training to better equip themselves to manage a diverse student population. PROJECT BLUE was funded during the first phase of this initiative and proposed to provide students in its District with a range of services to improve school safety, decrease school violence, decrease alcohol and drug use, and improve student mental health. The local evaluation team collected information regarding project implementation and its impact on school safety, school climate, and teacher preparedness to manage student misbehavior. Selected results are highlighted in the article. However, the primary purpose of this article is to document lessons learned from the evaluation of this project. Lessons learned are presented in four areas: leadership, communication, system change efforts, and local evaluation of federal initiatives. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
