Aspect-based sentiment analysis allows one to compute the sentiment for an aspect in a certain context. One problem in this analysis is that words possibly carry different sentiments for different aspects. Moreover, an aspect’s sentiment might be highly influenced by the domain-specific knowledge. In order to tackle these issues, in this paper, we propose a hybrid solution for sentence-level aspect-based sentiment analysis using A Lexicalized Domain Ontology and a Regularized Neural Attention model (ALDONAr). The bidirectional context attention mechanism is introduced to measure the influence of each word in a given sentence on an aspect’s sentiment value. The classification module is designed to handle the complex structure of a sentence. The manually created lexicalized domain ontology is integrated to utilize the field-specific knowledge. Compared to the existing ALDONA model, ALDONAr uses BERT word embeddings, regularization, the Adam optimizer, and different model initialization. Moreover, its classification module is enhanced with two 1D CNN layers providing superior results on standard datasets.  相似文献

The polarity shift problem is a major factor that affects classification performance of machine-learning-based sentiment analysis systems. In this paper, we propose a three-stage cascade model to address the polarity shift problem in the context of document-level sentiment classification. We first split each document into a set of subsentences and build a hybrid model that employs rules and statistical methods to detect explicit and implicit polarity shifts, respectively. Secondly, we propose a polarity shift elimination method, to remove polarity shift in negations. Finally, we train base classifiers on training subsets divided by different types of polarity shifts, and use a weighted combination of the component classifiers for sentiment classification. The results on a range of experiments illustrate that our approach significantly outperforms several alternative methods for polarity shift detection and elimination.  相似文献

The increasing interest around emotions in online texts creates the demand for financial sentiment analysis. Previous studies mainly focus on coarse-grained document-/sentence-level sentiment analysis, which ignores different sentiment polarities of various targets (e.g., company entities) in a sentence. To fill the gap, from a fine-grained target-level perspective, we propose a novel Lexicon Enhanced Collaborative Network (LECN) for targeted sentiment analysis (TSA) in financial texts. In general, the model designs a unified and collaborative framework that can capture the associations of targets and sentiment cues to enhance the overall performance of TSA. Moreover, the model dynamically incorporates sentiment lexicons to guide the sentiment classification, which cultivates the model faculty of understanding financial expressions. In addition, the model introduces a message selective-passing mechanism to adaptively control the information flow between two tasks, thereby improving the collaborative effects. To verify the effectiveness of LECN, we conduct experiments on four financial datasets, including SemEVAL2017 Task5 subset1, SemEVAL2017 Task5 subset2, FiQA 2018 Task1, and Financial PhraseBank. Results show that LECN achieves improvements over the state-of-art baseline by 1.66 p.p., 1.47 p.p., 1.94 p.p., and 1.88 p.p. in terms of F1-score. A series of further analyses also indicate that LECN has a better capacity for comprehending domain-specific expressions and can achieve the mutually beneficial effect between tasks.  相似文献

Sentiment analysis (SA) is a continuing field of research that lies at the intersection of many fields such as data mining, natural language processing and machine learning. It is concerned with the automatic extraction of opinions conveyed in a certain text. Due to its vast applications, many studies have been conducted in the area of SA especially on English texts, while other languages such as Arabic received less attention. This survey presents a comprehensive overview of the works done so far on Arabic SA (ASA). The survey groups published papers based on the SA-related problems they address and tries to identify the gaps in the current literature laying foundation for future studies in this field.  相似文献

Sentiment analysis concerns about automatically identifying sentiment or opinion expressed in a given piece of text. Most prior work either use prior lexical knowledge defined as sentiment polarity of words or view the task as a text classification problem and rely on labeled corpora to train a sentiment classifier. While lexicon-based approaches do not adapt well to different domains, corpus-based approaches require expensive manual annotation effort.  相似文献

Sentiment analysis on Twitter has attracted much attention recently due to its wide applications in both, commercial and public sectors. In this paper we present SentiCircles, a lexicon-based approach for sentiment analysis on Twitter. Different from typical lexicon-based approaches, which offer a fixed and static prior sentiment polarities of words regardless of their context, SentiCircles takes into account the co-occurrence patterns of words in different contexts in tweets to capture their semantics and update their pre-assigned strength and polarity in sentiment lexicons accordingly. Our approach allows for the detection of sentiment at both entity-level and tweet-level. We evaluate our proposed approach on three Twitter datasets using three different sentiment lexicons to derive word prior sentiments. Results show that our approach significantly outperforms the baselines in accuracy and F-measure for entity-level subjectivity (neutral vs. polar) and polarity (positive vs. negative) detections. For tweet-level sentiment detection, our approach performs better than the state-of-the-art SentiStrength by 4–5% in accuracy in two datasets, but falls marginally behind by 1% in F-measure in the third dataset.  相似文献

Electronic word of mouth (eWOM) is prominent and abundant in consumer domains. Both consumers and product/service providers need help in understanding and navigating the resulting information spaces, which are vast and dynamic. The general tone or polarity of reviews, blogs or tweets provides such help. In this paper, we explore the viability of automatic sentiment analysis (SA) for assessing the polarity of a product or a service review. To do so, we examine the potential of the major approaches to sentiment analysis, along with star ratings, in capturing the true sentiment of a review. We further model contextual factors (specifically, product type and review length) as two moderators affecting SA accuracy. The results of our analysis of 900 reviews suggest that different tools representing the main approaches to SA display differing levels of accuracy, yet overall, SA is very effective in detecting the underlying tone of the analyzed content, and can be used as a complement or an alternative to star ratings. The results further reveal that contextual factors such as product type and review length, play a role in affecting the ability of a technique to reflect the true sentiment of a review.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce HEMOS (Humor-EMOji-Slang-based) system for fine-grained sentiment classification for the Chinese language using deep learning approach. We investigate the importance of recognizing the influence of humor, pictograms and slang on the task of affective processing of the social media. In the first step, we collected 576 frequent Internet slang expressions as a slang lexicon; then, we converted 109 Weibo emojis into textual features creating a Chinese emoji lexicon. In the next step, by performing two polarity annotations with new “optimistic humorous type” and “pessimistic humorous type” added to standard “positive” and “negative” sentiment categories, we applied both lexicons to attention-based bi-directional long short-term memory recurrent neural network (AttBiLSTM) and tested its performance on undersized labeled data. Our experimental results show that the proposed method can significantly improve the state-of-the-art methods in predicting sentiment polarity on Weibo, the largest Chinese social network.  相似文献

Although deep learning breakthroughs in NLP are based on learning distributed word representations by neural language models, these methods suffer from a classic drawback of unsupervised learning techniques. Furthermore, the performance of general-word embedding has been shown to be heavily task-dependent. To tackle this issue, recent researches have been proposed to learn the sentiment-enhanced word vectors for sentiment analysis. However, the common limitation of these approaches is that they require external sentiment lexicon sources and the construction and maintenance of these resources involve a set of complexing, time-consuming, and error-prone tasks. In this regard, this paper proposes a method of sentiment lexicon embedding that better represents sentiment word's semantic relationships than existing word embedding techniques without manually-annotated sentiment corpus. The major distinguishing factor of the proposed framework was that joint encoding morphemes and their POS tags, and training only important lexical morphemes in the embedding space. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, we conducted experiments comparing with two baseline models. As a result, the revised embedding approach mitigated the problem of conventional context-based word embedding method and, in turn, improved the performance of sentiment classification.  相似文献

Structured sentiment analysis is a newly proposed task, which aims to summarize the overall sentiment and opinion status on given texts, i.e., the opinion expression, the sentiment polarity of the opinion, the holder of the opinion, and the target the opinion towards. In this work, we investigate a transition-based model for end-to-end structured sentiment analysis task. We design a transition architecture which supports the recognition of all the possible opinion quadruples in one shot. Based on the transition backbone, we then propose a Dual-Pointer module for more accurate term boundary detection. Besides, we further introduce a global graph reasoning mechanism, which helps to learn the global-level interactions between the overlapped quadruples. The high-order features are navigated into the transition system to enhance the final predictions. Extensive experimental results on five benchmarks demonstrate both the prominent efficacy and efficiency of our system. Our model outperforms all baselines in terms of all metrics, especially achieving a 10.5% point gain over the current best-performing system only detecting the holder-target-opinion triplets. Further analyses reveal that our framework is also effective in solving the overlapping structure and long-range dependency issues.  相似文献

Nowadays, online word-of-mouth has an increasing impact on people's views and decisions, which has attracted many people's attention. The classification and sentiment analyse in online consumer reviews have attracted significant research concerns. In this thesis, we propose and implement a new method to study the extraction and classification of online dating services(ODS)’s comments. Different from traditional emotional analysis which mainly focuses on product attribution, we attempted to infer and extract the emotion concept of each emotional reviews by introducing social cognitive theory. In this study, we selected 4,300 comments with extremely negative/positive emotions published on dating websites as a sample, and used three machine learning algorithms to analyze emotions. When testing and comparing the efficiency of user's behavior research, we use various sentiment analysis, machine learning techniques and dictionary-based sentiment analysis. We found that the combination of machine learning and lexicon-based method can achieve higher accuracy than any type of sentiment analysis. This research will provide a new perspective for the task of user behavior.  相似文献

Compared with explicit sentiment analysis that attracts considerable attention, implicit sentiment analysis is a more difficult task due to the lack of sentimental words. The abundant information in an external sentimental knowledge base can play a significant complementary and expansion role. In this paper, a sentimental commonsense knowledge graph embedded multi-polarity orthogonal attention model is proposed to learn the implication of the implicit sentiment. We analyzed the effectiveness of different knowledge relations in the ConceptNet knowledge base in detail, and proposed a matching and filtering method to distill useful knowledge tuples for implicit sentiment analysis automatically. By introducing the sentimental information in the knowledge base, the proposed model can extend the semantic of a sentence with an implicit sentiment. Then, a bi-directional long–short term memory model with multi-polarity orthogonal attention is adopted to fuse the distilled sentimental knowledge with the semantic embedding, effectively enriching the representation of sentences. Experiments on the SMP2019-ECISA implicit sentiment dataset show that our model fully utilizes the information of the knowledge base and improves the performance of Chinese implicit sentiment analysis.  相似文献

Detecting sentiments in natural language is tricky even for humans, making its automated detection more complicated. This research proffers a hybrid deep learning model for fine-grained sentiment prediction in real-time multimodal data. It reinforces the strengths of deep learning nets in combination to machine learning to deal with two specific semiotic systems, namely the textual (written text) and visual (still images) and their combination within the online content using decision level multimodal fusion. The proposed contextual ConvNet-SVMBoVW model, has four modules, namely, the discretization, text analytics, image analytics, and decision module. The input to the model is multimodal text, m ε {text, image, info-graphic}. The discretization module uses Google Lens to separate the text from the image, which is then processed as discrete entities and sent to the respective text analytics and image analytics modules. Text analytics module determines the sentiment using a hybrid of a convolution neural network (ConvNet) enriched with the contextual semantics of SentiCircle. An aggregation scheme is introduced to compute the hybrid polarity. A support vector machine (SVM) classifier trained using bag-of-visual-words (BoVW) for predicting the visual content sentiment. A Boolean decision module with a logical OR operation is augmented to the architecture which validates and categorizes the output on the basis of five fine-grained sentiment categories (truth values), namely ‘highly positive,’ ‘positive,’ ‘neutral,’ ‘negative’ and ‘highly negative.’ The accuracy achieved by the proposed model is nearly 91% which is an improvement over the accuracy obtained by the text and image modules individually.  相似文献

Aspect-based sentiment analysis aims to predict the sentiment polarities of specific targets in a given text. Recent researches show great interest in modeling the target and context with attention network to obtain more effective feature representation for sentiment classification task. However, the use of an average vector of target for computing the attention score for context is unfair. Besides, the interaction mechanism is simple thus need to be further improved. To solve the above problems, this paper first proposes a coattention mechanism which models both target-level and context-level attention alternatively so as to focus on those key words of targets to learn more effective context representation. On this basis, we implement a Coattention-LSTM network which learns nonlinear representations of context and target simultaneously and can extracts more effective sentiment feature from coattention mechanism. Further, a Coattention-MemNet network which adopts a multiple-hops coattention mechanism is proposed to improve the sentiment classification result. Finally, we propose a new location weighted function which considers the location information to enhance the performance of coattention mechanism. Extensive experiments on two public datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of all proposed methods, and our findings in the experiments provide new insight for future developments of using attention mechanism and deep neural network for aspect-based sentiment analysis.  相似文献

In an environment full of disordered information, the media spreads fake or harmful information into the public arena with a speed which is faster than ever before. A news report should ideally be neutral and factual. Excessive personal emotions or viewpoints should not be included. News articles ought not to be intentionally or maliciously written or create a media framing. A harmful news is defined as those explicit or implicit harmful speech in news text that harms people or affects readers’ perception. However, in the current situation, it is difficult to effectively identify and predict fake or harmful news in advance, especially harmful news. Therefore, in this study, we propose a Bidirectional Encoder Representation from Transformers (BERT) based model which applies ensemble learning methods with a text sentiment analysis to identify harmful news, aiming to provide readers with a way to identify harmful news content so as to help them to judge whether the information provided is in a more neutral manner. The working model of the proposed system has two phases. The first phase is collecting harmful news and establishing a development model for analyzing the correlation between text sentiment and harmful news. The second phase is identifying harmful news by analyzing text sentiment with an ensemble learning technique and the BERT model. The purpose is to determine whether the news has harmful intentions. Our experimental results show that the F1-score of the proposed model reaches 66.3%, an increase of 7.8% compared with that of the previous term frequency-inverse document frequency approach which adopts a Lagrangian Support Vector Machine (LSVM) model without using a text sentiment. Moreover, the proposed method achieves a better performance in recognizing various cases of information disorder.  相似文献

This article describes in-depth research on machine learning methods for sentiment analysis of Czech social media. Whereas in English, Chinese, or Spanish this field has a long history and evaluation datasets for various domains are widely available, in the case of the Czech language no systematic research has yet been conducted. We tackle this issue and establish a common ground for further research by providing a large human-annotated Czech social media corpus. Furthermore, we evaluate state-of-the-art supervised machine learning methods for sentiment analysis. We explore different pre-processing techniques and employ various features and classifiers. We also experiment with five different feature selection algorithms and investigate the influence of named entity recognition and preprocessing on sentiment classification performance. Moreover, in addition to our newly created social media dataset, we also report results for other popular domains, such as movie and product reviews. We believe that this article will not only extend the current sentiment analysis research to another family of languages, but will also encourage competition, potentially leading to the production of high-end commercial solutions.  相似文献

Social media data have recently attracted considerable attention as an emerging voice of the customer as it has rapidly become a channel for exchanging and storing customer-generated, large-scale, and unregulated voices about products. Although product planning studies using social media data have used systematic methods for product planning, their methods have limitations, such as the difficulty of identifying latent product features due to the use of only term-level analysis and insufficient consideration of opportunity potential analysis of the identified features. Therefore, an opportunity mining approach is proposed in this study to identify product opportunities based on topic modeling and sentiment analysis of social media data. For a multifunctional product, this approach can identify latent product topics discussed by product customers in social media using topic modeling, thereby quantifying the importance of each product topic. Next, the satisfaction level of each product topic is evaluated using sentiment analysis. Finally, the opportunity value and improvement direction of each product topic from a customer-centered view are identified by an opportunity algorithm based on product topics’ importance and satisfaction. We expect that our approach for product planning will contribute to the systematic identification of product opportunities from large-scale customer-generated social media data and will be used as a real-time monitoring tool for changing customer needs analysis in rapidly evolving product environments.  相似文献
