There are not as many British positive romanticism research as romanticism research. The positive romanticism possesses distinguished characteristics in different cultures. The English positive romanticism pushed the romanticism literature to the highest among which Shelley’s Ode to the West Wind is one of the best works.Through mainly analysis on the background of Ode to the West Wind, and the features of positive romanticism,my research finally drew an conclusion that Ode to the West Wind adopts a variety of ways to analyze the subjectivism, the political lyricism, idealism. This thesis also illustrates the features of human’s appreciations for the nature.  相似文献

<正>"Ode to the West Wind" written by Percy Bysshe Shelley is an excellent romantic poem in the 19th century and the best lyric of the poet. In the poem Shelley expresses his great love for nature, praises the West Wind for its spirit of destroying old things and being pregnant with new things. By evoking the great force of the West Wind, he expresses his determination to fight against dying things and disseminate new ideas with his Poetry. This point is well shown, especially in the first and the last two stanzas.  相似文献

Scarlett who was the heroine in the world famous book Gone with the Wind,is regarded as one of the most impressive images in the world literature. Her charm lies in her perverse personality of independence and her spirit of freedom. This essay analyzes the characters of the heroine through highlighting women’s social status in the South during the age of Scarlett’s time.It could be safely concluded that Scarlett’s characters and her courage to face the difficulties during the war reveal the awakening of women’s self-consciousness and the realization of feminine value.  相似文献

Scarlett and Bai Liusu, the protagonists of American literary classic Gone with the Wind and Chinese modern literary work Love in a Fallen City, are two distinct women images in the history of world literature.Their female consciousness can be discovered throughout both works. This paper attempts to make a comparative study between the two heroines,by analyzing their female consciousness which is primarily expressed in the pursuit of love, money and independence,as well as their personalities and destiny. The study discovers that although Scarlett and Bai Liusu experience similar awakening process, their endings are different. The democratic Western culture allows Scarlett to grow up into a rebellious new woman;by contrast, thousands of years of Chinese feudal society decide that Bai Liusu’s female consciousness is not thorough enough.  相似文献

Jane Austen’s posthumously published novel Persuasion has been regarded as a foreshadowing of Romanticism, especially in its autumnal tone that has inherent intimacy with John Keats’s To Autumn and Percy Bysshe Shelley’s Ode to the West Wind. Blending the stylistic disparities in the two Romanticist poems, Persuasion ’s autumnal sensation changes its colors from being tinged with Keats’s melancholy to the touch of Shelley’s animation. The integration of both tones has created a unique autumnal duet that is remindful of its Romanticist followers.  相似文献
