论数字时代图书馆员的信息素养与职业道德

数字时代图书馆员的职业道德建设是关系到民族文化存亡和人类文明进步的关键,数字时代图书馆员的信息素养或信息水平应包括信息技术技能、信息化应用技能、信息化组织能力、信息化创新能力四个层次。本文对数字时代图书馆员的信息素养与职业道德的内容进行了探讨。     

Developing Teaching Competencies for Instructors in the Academic Library

Abstract

A university library developed a list of teaching competencies with three goals in mind: (1) to improve the quality of teaching in the information literacy program, (2) to create an outline for training in pedagogy, and (3) to provide a mechanism for self and peer assessment in library instruction. The authors describe the development process and discuss the rationale for each set of skills and behaviors. The article includes the list of competencies.     

数字时代图书馆的发展方向及评估标准

数字时代,图书馆正在经历巨大的转变--由“图书资料储存库”变成“信息资源的通道”;由仅仅提供馆内服务发展到提供及时、广泛的虚拟状态下的信息服务。随着运作环境的改变,图书馆的综合实力,包括信息的获取能力及信息技术的运用将会变得格外重要。在这一前提下,笔者提出一个图书馆评估的新体系,包括以下6个方面的评估标准:①馆藏资源的数量和质量;②网络及数字化程度;③多元化的信息管理和服务;④全球范围内信息资源的获取和利用;⑤提供远距离学习和教育之环境;⑥馆员素质。     

A Comparison Between The Competencies Deemed Necessary for Teacher-Librarians in Iran and Those Suggested by Librarians from Developing Countries

Abstract

The present survey attempts to investigate the viability of a single library education programme for the education of teacher-librarians in developing countries. Questionnaires were sent to 55 professional librarians in 29 different countries, of which 35 replies were received. Data were analysed and the result was compared with the outcome of a similar survey done for the education of teacher-librarians in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The overall view is that a single library programme for developing countries is possible.

Abstract

A first-person account of the drama inside the CNN newsroom on the day the Hurricane Katrina rocked the US Gulf Coast. Elliot Masie's document shows how the gathering and reporting of the news has become more eclectic, technical and under the influence of citizen-journalists who shape the news by what they send electronically to news outlets and to each other. In the librarian's job of helping researchers access information about the news has become more complex because the traditional linkage of reporting, editing and publishing has broken down.
