西方人文主义精神探讨

西方人文主义思想在公元前5世纪的古希腊就出现,然而,在神学的束缚下,人文主义思想不仅没有发展起来反而被扼杀.公元前7世纪希腊出现了最早的哲学,随着科学技术的发展到16世纪文艺复兴运动,标志着人文主义的复兴,而此后发生的宗教改革则使得人文主义得到发展,17世纪和18世纪的启蒙运动则标志着人文主义思想发展到高峰.

文艺复兴是西方史学研究年久不哀的论题。雅各布·布克哈特“人和世界的发现”的提出奠定了直至 2 0世纪上半叶文艺复兴史学的基础。继承和发展布克哈特的是美裔德国史学家汉斯·巴伦。他提“公民人文主义”新概念 ,实现了史学的突破。“公民人文主义”强调积极参政投身社会 ,激发爱国激情 ,捍卫祖国独立自由。巴伦通过从彼得拉克到布鲁尼 ,到马基雅维里 ,直至近代启蒙思想家思想发展轨迹的探究 ,揭示西方近代文明积极价值观的渊源。在布克哈特以个人主义为基础的人文主义中增添表达爱国热情 ,体现集体精神的新的内容和价值观念。这个‘新的’“公民人文主义”也不愧是人类的精神遗产
