Making Connections： Values,Challenges and Successes in the Implementation of Eportfolios in Teacher Education at a Community College in New York City

This paper triangulates perspectives on reflective pedagogy （Yancey, 2009）, integrative learning （Eynon, 2009） and technology integration into learning and teaching （Wenzlaff, 1998） in order to connect the dots among a set of values, challenges and opportunities that concomitantly emerge from using eportfolios （electronic portfolios） in teacher education at BMCC （Borough of Manhattan Community College） in New York City. The aim of this paper is to share insights that could help to inform and encourage best practices across community colleges and other higher education institutions.     

On Deng Xiaoping＇s Concept of Young People＇s Ideological and Political Education

生命教育是高校思想政治教育的重要内容

生命教育最早由美国学者杰·唐纳·华特士于1968年提出,其缘起于深刻的主客观背景。已经引起了世界各国的广泛关注。当前我国各高校不断出现的在校大学生自杀现象。引起人们的深思：生命教育有待加强。生命教育应是高校思想政治教育的重要内容。但当前高校思想政治教育活动和相关课程对其体现不足。对此,我们需要在思想政治教育过程中探索种种必要的补救措施,借以推动高校校园的和谐。促进社会稳定。     

Has Group Work Education Lost Its Social Group Work Essence? A Content Analysis of MSW Course Syllabi in Search of Mutual Aid and Group Conflict Content

This article presents the results of a content analysis of MSW group work course syllabi in an effort to better understand the extent to which mutual aid and group conflict, two important dimensions of social group work, are included and featured as prominent elements in MSW-level group work instruction.     

A Community College Instructor’s Reflective Journey Toward Developing Pedagogical Content Knowledge for Nature of Science in a Non-majors Undergraduate Biology Course

Research supports an explicit-reflective approach to teaching about nature of science (NOS), but little is reported on teachers’ journeys as they attempt to integrate NOS into everyday lessons. This participatory action research paper reports the challenges and successes encountered by an in-service teacher, Sarah, implementing NOS for the first time throughout four units of a community college biology course (genetics, molecular biology, evolution, and ecology). Through the action research cycles of planning, implementing, and reflecting, Sarah identified areas of challenge and success. This paper reports emergent themes that assisted her in successfully embedding NOS within the science content. Data include weekly lesson plans and pre/post reflective journaling before and after each lesson of this lecture/lab combination class that met twice a week. This course was taught back to back semesters, and this study is based on the results of a year-long process. Developing pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) for NOS involves coming to understand the overlaps and connections between NOS, other science subject matter, pedagogical strategies, and student learning. Sarah found that through action research she was able to grow and assimilate her understanding of NOS within the biology content she was teaching. A shift in orientation toward teaching products of science to teaching science processes was a necessary shift for NOS pedagogical success. This process enabled Sarah’s development of PCK for NOS. As a practical example of putting research-based instructional recommendations into practice, this study may be very useful for other teachers who are learning to teach NOS.

以桂林师专为研究总体,采用问卷调查方法定量描述了在校大学生的恋爱现状及婚恋态度,试图为高校婚恋教育研究提供实践依据。研究表明：大学生婚恋观总趋势是积极健康的,但仍存在某些偏差,如恋爱动机复杂化;注重追求精神享受;对性持开放和宽容的态度;男女生在人际交往、消费行为上不同程度受到了恋爱的影响;初恋年龄的提前和结婚年龄的推后进一步强化了恋爱和婚姻的分离,这些有可能成为当代大学生婚恋教育的重点和难点所在。     

生命教育：高师思想政治教育的现实责任

当前,大学生漠视、践踏生命的现象屡见不鲜,开展生命教育显得非常迫切。通过分析传统思想政治教育在生命教育方面的不足,提出高师应当率先担当起生命教育的责任和在思想政治教育中推行生命教育的对策。

生命教育是高校思想道德教育体系的拓展和延伸,是大学生思想政治教育中不容忽视的课题。文章在阐述生命教育的基本含义与主要特征的基础上,分析了生命教育在大学生思想政治教育中的重要性,进一步提出了高校开展大学生生命教育的有效途径。     

生命之维：思想政治教育视界的拓展

我们不仅应强调思想政治教育的政治之维和社会之维,也应凸显其个体生命之维。这一方面源于时代对思想政治教育关爱生命的呼唤,一方面源于思想政治教育与生命存在的内在逻辑关联。彰显思想政治教育的生命之维要保持人的肉体生命和精神生命的协调、保持生命的超越性和有限性之间的张力以及个体性生命存在与他人生命共在之间的弹性。     

Multimedia integration for language e-learning： Content, context and the e-dossier

In the education world, it is widely accepted that language learning is one of the pioneering disciplines in the application and use of the information and communication technologies, initially preceded by the widespread use of audiovisual resources which, finally integrated in the digital space, bring about the use of multimedia. Additionally, language learning has greatly contributed to standardizing lesson plans. They set the basis for learning design, one of the last advances in the pedagogical organization of education through the use of computers in learning managing systems. Most recently, language learning has also played an innovative role in the implementation of portfolios to education. These three perspectives address different issues for e-learning： the access to content through technology; the design of the learning initially with the help of tutors and then applying institutional frameworks for their own personal learning processes; and the edition of the resulting e-learning experience as evidence with the e-dossier, a part of the e-portfolio. Currently, the web is evolving towards its original function as the read/write web where the user, apart from accessing information, can create their own information and communicate more interactively, using technology-enhanced learning environments to integrate text and multimedia for real audiences both in the classroom and outside. Thus, taking language learning guided by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, the authors present here a complete e-learning system which integrates textual as well as multimedia facilities to acquire learning content, edit learning design and report learning experiences.     

生命教育：新时期高校思想政治教育的新理念

生命是教育的逻辑起点,又是教育的最高目的,面对频频发生的大学生自杀及犯罪事件,有其心理层面、法律意识的缺失原因,然而更有的是时生命价值的漠视和学校教育中生命教育的空场。因此关注生命、展开生命教育已是摆在教育工作者面前一个刻不容缓的课题。加强大学生生命教育不仅意味着对大学生生命个体自然生命的关切,更意味着对大学生生命价值与人生态度的引导和提升,既是落实以人为本的科学发展观和构建社会主义和谐社会的必然要求,又是新时期思想政治教育的新课题与新理念。
