The tradition English teaching hasn’t adapted to our society. It has to be reformed completely, the key theory of the task-based teaching is that if the learners want to master the language, they must learn to use it,Application is the most important factor for the language learners. In the task-based teaching, the-specific task is the carrier, finishing the task is the motivation.,It mixes knowledge and skills, the student learn to do something by listening, speaking, reading and writing while doing something, they use the language they have learnt naturally. They develop and improve their own language in the process of using language that is to say, they learn to use, they learn the language using the language.  相似文献

Multimodal as digital literacies are, they have still been text-based.It has been a great concern that due to the popularity of speech-like writing style online, digital literacies have brought informal speech expressions into formal standard writing, and thus increasing the possibility to ruin the standard writing language. On the other hand, although there are moral panics of the survival of standard written languages, scholars and popular media show great tolerance for online languages. In addition,it has been proved that some frequent participants in digital literacies nowadays are capable of both online language and standard offline language, indicating that they are well aware of the different registers of language use and therefore of high language literacy.Furthermore, researches suggest several possible merits of digital literacies, including saving young people from social isolation and depression, providing people with more opportunities to learn new things and to practice the instructional writing, calling for thorough consideration and elaborate editing and encouraging brief and clear writing style.  相似文献

Nowadays, the role of listening course is changed and listening teaching begins to gain high priority in foreign language learning and teaching. However, the English level of students in China is still poor, especially in the northwest of Guangxi. One of the reasons is that teachers in senior high schools have a tendency to ignore listening, because they think that listening is time-consumed. They have to finish the teaching scheme punctually, though listening is the basic and important skill among the other three skills, listening teaching gains no large progress.  相似文献

All normal children, with their body development and the influence of environment, could naturally use their mother tongue to interact with other language-users at about 6 years old.During this time, they need no formal instruction to acquire the first language, and it seems that there is some’innate’predisposition in the human infant to acquire language. This paper attempts to explore the com mon features that children share when they are in the process of developing language with the support of data from CHILDES(Child Lan guage Data Exchange System),and explain how child learn language.  相似文献

“How can I study English in order to make rapid progress?”is a question that I am often asked by my students. They look at me in disbelief when I reply that they should talk to their friends in English, listen to English language broadcasts on the radio, and read English novels for fun in their spare time. I sens that they think such an appxoach to language learning is too straight forward, and as their foreign teacher, I should have a more mysterious, quicker method perhaps something like drinking a magie potion.  相似文献

Peer-peer interaction offers multiple benefits to learners and holds great implications for language learning. Peer-peer interaction creates a communication-friendly environment where novice foreign language learners feel more comfortable to use the target language, reinforcing what they have learned and pushing them to rack their brains and reach beyond the zone of proximal development for more.  相似文献

Many students ex perience language anxiety when they speak English in the class. Many scholars have investigated language anxiety for years, which means that this problem has attracted more and more attention. However, most of researches on language anxiety are carried on among university undergraduates while little research has been done about vocational college students. So, the purpose of this paper is to find out the causes of vocational college non-English majors' language anxiety and explore some implications for teachers to help reducing students' anxiety so as to improve their oral proficiency and ultimately enhance their English learning.  相似文献

0. Introduction Advances in computer analysis of the English language have shown that lexical patterns are widespread in language use. Some researchers call them “lexical phrases“ (Nattinger and DeCarrico,1992) or “lexical chunks“ (Lewis, 1993); others use the term “multi-word chunks“ or just “chunks“of language. Whatever the terms are, they are characteristic of language use and language acquisition and present advantages for language teaching and learning. The lexical approach to English teaching has received interest in recent years as an alternative to grammar-based approaches. The lexical approach concentrates on developing learners‘ skills in understanding and using words and word combinations.……  相似文献

It is known that the IELTS test has not been a good predictor of English capability in academic settings. More information is required. Are students not motivated to keep improving their English; what obstacles do they face? The English language issues facing international students from China at one University are explored through a survey and focus groups. It is observed that a lack of motivation is not the key factor. Rather one core problem is the very difficult demands of acculturation within a short time frame which would enable confidence for the students to continue to engage with other English speaking students. When faced with such immediate and hard to achieve acculturation, many retreat to their language groups. In the academic context, support for the transition to discipline based academic genres is double difficult as the time frame for second language learners is longer, but performance requirements are more immediate. Many first language students also have difficulties in this area, but have the easier language path to mastery. The study draws usefully on a comparison made with students studying English in China.  相似文献

In the course of learning English in classroom, students cultivate their ability to use the language. But that ability does not mean they are able to acquire that language in a communicative way, because the acquisition of language in classroom is mainly for the purpose of learning. It starts and ends in a particular circumstance-the classroom. In that case, analyzed and discussed is the universal feature of English acquisition in classroom and its effects on practical use respectively.  相似文献
