This article reports our recent ESRC funded research on the identification of children with emotional and behavioural difficulties under the procedures of the 1981 Education Act. It is argued that the concepts of ‘deskilling’ and ‘proletarianisation’ provide a useful framework of analysis when examining the role of teachers and other professionals involved in the assessment process. However, we discuss evidence suggesting that negotiations between these professionals may focus upon teachers’ attempts to define the nature of their professional activity as ‘skilful’. One consequence of this may be the deskilling of outside professional ‘experts’. 相似文献

The population of the aging lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community is significant and growing rapidly. As LGBT individuals age and begin to move into healthcare communities, they are fearful of apathy, discrimination, and abuse by healthcare providers and other residents. Person-centered cultural competence and sensitivity among service providers is necessary in order for LGBT individuals to share the same quality of life as other members of the aging community. Programming developed to educate healthcare professionals and aging-services providers on issues related to aging as an LGBT adult must be thoughtfully evaluated to show both efficacy and impact. 相似文献

教育技术学是建立在实践应用基础上的学科,其人才实践能力的培养是人才培养的重中之重。本文在探讨实践能力的内涵、特征的基础上,结合我院多年来的教学实践,提出了“‘知行合一’的培养取向,建构内容关联且分层的理论与实践课程体系,完善校内外实训基地,运用灵活而适宜的教学策略选择原则,构建适情的实践组织形式,确立‘促进学生发展’的评价机制”等实践能力培养新策略,对学生实践能力的提升做了新尝试。 相似文献

经典教育实验强调在实验前要有明确的理论假设、严密的实验计划;实验中要严格执行实验计划,严密控制实验情景;实验后要进行统计分析,得出普适性的结论。当代教育实验,强调实验过程的动态生成性和实验结论的情境性,具有行动研究的特征,称之为行动研究取向的教育实验。这两类实验各有其独特的价值,但实验的真正价值取决于思想而不是方法。 相似文献

A major theme of recent debate and policy development in the area of special education is that of inclusion: the placement of all pupils in mainstream schools and the development of curriculum and pedagogy to meet the needs of all. Analysis of national statistical data shows some movement in this direction, but of a slow and very uneven kind. An exploration of the concepts of pragmatism to describe an important aspect of LEA decision making and of ideology to describe an important aspect of pressures for inclusion helps to explain this pattern of development. The paper concludes that both approaches require further systematic empirical data on the outcomes of different patterns of educational provision. 相似文献
