Mobile health clinics address the health needs of underserved populations by bringing healthcare to patients’ communities. Mobile health clinics find unique ways to treat patients and empower them to take control of their health. In this article, we examine how patients who use an urban mobile health clinic narrate their experiences on the clinic and what they see as the impact of the clinic on the community. A narrative of generosity emerged from the interviews, where patients believe the mobile health clinic creates a sense of welcome, encourages patients to become active participants in their health, and fosters a “pay it forward” attitude among community members.  相似文献

The benefits of a health counseling service within the Adult Health Promotion Centre (AHPC) in Hong Kong are described and offered as evidence of the benefits of self‐education in health for older people. The health complaints of clients of the AHPC are identified through health checks and screening. In 1980, on the basis of screening and the results of a survey of clients at a health education seminar on what topics they would like information on, health counseling small groups were planned for hypertension, diabetes mellitus, high serum cholesterol, and obesity. Clients were invited to join these health counseling groups, which were led by volunteer nurses. The main focus of the health counseling service was to enhance clients’ knowledge of health and preventative care through individual counseling and peer learning. In line with health promotion and empowerment concepts, clients were encouraged to monitor and record their own health. Health counseling focused on wellness, teaching clients skills that enabled them to take responsibility for their health, increasing their nutritional awareness, teaching them stress management techniques, and promoting physical fitness. The implications for the training of health professionals and the role of older people in health policy development are discussed. Ways of improving health promotion services for older people are suggested.  相似文献

本研究选取贵州省某地区中小学校长160人,使用中小学校长工作压力问卷、社会支持评定量表、简易应对方式问卷和自测健康评定量表进行问卷调查,探讨中小学校长工作压力、社会支持、应对方式与心理健康的关系.结果发现,中小学校长总体工作压力处于中等水平,其中考试升学的压力最大,人际关系的压力最小;中小学校长心理健康处于中等偏上水平;中小学校长工作压力、社会支持总分、主观支持和积极应对与心理健康水平的相关均具有统计学意义;结构方程模型的研究结果表明,工作压力直接影响个体心理健康水平,主观支持通过中介作用影响工作压力和心理健康的关系,主观支持通过积极应对方式对心理健康有间接影响.  相似文献

BackgroundToday, almost half of all refugees worldwide are children and adolescents, nearly a quarter of whom arrive in Europe as Unaccompanied Refugee Minors (URM). Many URMs have experienced the cumulative stress of being exposed both to the adverse environmental conditions which drive forced migration, and to the traumatic experience of displacement and resettlement. These experiences, coupled with other developmental stressors, may impede their overall development and increase their likelihood of mental health problems. Despite the evident vulnerability of URMs, much controversy currently surrounds the legitimacy of their arrival in host countries and their mental health is given little consideration.ObjectiveThis review synthesises and examines the limited published literature on the impact of traumatic refugee experiences on the mental health and development of URMs.MethodsAcademic databases and other sources were searched using key terms relating to URMs and mental health.ResultsThe findings confirm in large part that being a URM negatively influences mental health development, and that adolescence and being female are particular indicators of increased risk of psychiatric disorders. However, cultural differences in measurement and assessment of mental health are important confounding factors.ConclusionsThe current literature on youth in transit consistently paints a picture of how experiences URMs face can place a great burden on their mental health - clearly depicting an urgent need to consider their mental health within the current climate. The pressing need for improved care based on best practice is discussed.  相似文献

Stigma is a powerful force in preventing university students with mental health difficulties from gaining access to appropriate support. This paper reports on an exploratory study of university students with mental health difficulties that found most students did not disclose their mental health problems to staff at university. This was primarily due to fear of discrimination during their studies and in professional employment. Many students went to considerable efforts to hide their mental health condition and in doing so struggled to meet university requirements. Of the minority who did disclose, most received helpful assistance with both their studies and management of their mental health condition. The university was the main source of support services including counselling, disability, student union and housing. A range of measures are required to address the impact of stigma and mental health to empower students so that they can disclose in the confidence that they will be treated fairly.  相似文献

Health literacy has firmly established the links between literacy skills and health outcomes and is subsequently considered a key strategy for improving the health of disadvantaged populations and addressing social inequality. However, current research findings for improving health literacy have primarily focused on adults and actions within health and health care settings. Implementation studies outside the health sector are scarce. This study, a subset of the INCLUD-ED community- based project on social inclusion, reports on successful community-based approaches to health literacy. This article focuses on two schools that take advantage of the cultural intelligence of their students' family members, allowing them to make health literacy programmes more effective and useful for the participants. In addition, family involvement in educational activities addressed to children, including health programmes, has been found to improve the health literacy of the participating adults and their use of healthcare services. Findings indicate that schools in Europe can play a key role in breaking the cycle of health inequalities by promoting health literacy through education.  相似文献

采用心理健康诊断测验(MHT)对部分高中留守学生和部分高中非留守学生的心理健康状况进行测查,并探讨高中留守学生与父母分离状况对其心理健康状况的影响。结果发现:第一,高中留守学生心理健康水平比非留守学生差。第二,高中留守女生心理健康水平比男生差;高一留守学生心理健康总体水平与高二留守学生没有显著差异,但在学习焦虑、冲动倾向、过敏倾向方面比高二留守学生差。第三,父母均外出的高中留守学生的心理健康水平比仅父亲外出的差,但与仅母亲外出的没有显著差异。  相似文献

内隐自我指自我中那些不能被意识知觉和控制的方面和成分。自我平衡、自我驱动、社会文化影响等理论对内隐自我的心理机制进行了分析。内隐自我对于心理健康有着重要意义:一方面,内隐自我对个体的心理健康具有重要影响:健康心理存在着不同于外显水平的内隐机制;情绪障碍在内隐水平影响着心理健康;内隐自我通过态度影响着个体的不良行为;另一方面,内隐自我对心理健康服务具有深刻意义:心理健康工作者的内隐自我会影响其工作,健康服务工作者的内隐自我对其工作态度甚至医疗行为都具有影响。  相似文献

目的:探讨经济困难大学生个性因素中的人格特质对其心理健康的影响及其二者的相互关系。方法:该文以SCL-90量表和艾森克现实性—幻想性测验为工具,对滇南边疆民族地区两高校的984名大学生进行团体测查。结果:边疆地区经济困难大学生的心理健康水平低于全国常模,存在地区差异和性别差异,受家庭经济条件的影响显著,但经济因素的效用是有限的;特困生的心理健康水平低于贫困生和非贫困生,农村学生的心理健康水平低于乡镇学生和城市学生;人格特征倾向于"现实性—幻想性"特质的中间态和幻想性。结论:在一定经济额度内,边疆地区经济困难大学生的心理健康与其经济状况呈正相关,经济条件是其心理保健的必要条件;他们的心理健康及其人格有相关关系,二者可能存在双向因果关系。  相似文献

本文对上海市5所辅读学校的1 0 0名智力落后儿童家长的心理健康水平与其子女的行为问题进行了问卷调查和回归分析。发现弱智儿童家长的心理健康程度对其子女的行为问题有较好的预测力,家长所感受到的心理压力对其子女行为问题的影响力较大。本文还探讨了弱智儿童家长心理健康的内涵,提出了几点提高家长心理健康水平的途径。  相似文献

目前,人们关注儿童心理健康的同时,幼儿教师的心理健康问题也引起了广泛的关注。造成此问题的原因是多方面的,有职业特点、学校原因和社会原因等。作为幼儿学校的管理者,必须重视幼儿教师的心理健康问题,了解他们的心理特点,才能找到维护他们的心理健康的对策。本文运用《症状自评量表-SCL90》对200名幼儿教师进行测评,通过数据分析,并且根据分析结果,目前,幼儿教师的主要心理问题集中在抑郁、焦虑、恐怖以及精神病性方面,并据此为提高目前幼儿教师心理健康水平提出了相应的建议和对策。  相似文献

以石家庄学院教职工为研究对象,采用问卷、查阅健康档案与面访相结合的研究方法进行调查.结果发现,大多数教职工参加体育活动的次数一般以每月1次以上为主,每次体育活动的时间多为30 min,教职工对体育活动的爱好与实际参与有一定差异,对体育锻炼意识还不明确,而健康状况随着年龄的增长逐渐下降,针对上述现状,提出几点建议.  相似文献

This article discusses how psychosocial health in adolescence influences adult mental health among former students with special educational needs in Norway. These individuals have been followed prospectively from their teens and into their mid‐30s. The study is inspired by life course perspectives with an emphasis on cumulative processes. The logistic regression analysis reveals that the risk of suffering from adult mental distress is higher among those with psychosocial difficulties in their juvenile years compared with those without such problems. Our results also show that the mental health of subjects who experienced health problems and received social security benefits in their late 20s is negatively affected when they are 33 to 34 years of age. In addition, the risk of poor adult mental health is considerably higher for females than males. Receiving assistance from teaching assistants in the classroom at upper secondary school does not seem to be conducive to subsequent positive mental health.  相似文献
