＂零度写作＂是法国后结构主义大师罗兰·巴特的著名理论。他明确指出＂零度写作＂实质上是一种中性的直陈式写作,是毫不动心的写作,是纯洁的写作。海明威的著名短篇小说《白象似的群山》则凸显了＂零度写作＂的风格,主要表现在白描对话和象征手法的运用以及意犹未尽的零度结尾。     

Becoming a strategic reader

An important aspect of learning to read is understanding how to use strategies to aid comprehension. Many actions such as skimming, using context to discern unfamiliar words, and taking notes to aid remembering can promote reading comprehension and learning. In this paper we examine aspects of knowledge and motivation that are critical to becoming a strategic reader. We emphasize that agents are strategic, not actions removed from contexts, and that self-guided learning depends on the intentions, perceptions, and attributions of learners. Learning to read strategically is related to children's cognitive development as well as to the social contexts of instruction. Some suggestions are offered for classroom instruction that can promote children's awareness and use of strategic reading.     

Writing like writers in the classroom: free writing and formal constraint

This paper considers how ‘free writing’, derived from the automatic writing of the surrealists, can be used with students in writing poetry in order to emulate the successful practice of established writers. The paper considers how form can be taught, specifically line breaks and stanza breaks, both in relation to free writing and in relation to drafting, and argues that drafting should be considered an extension of the creative act of writing rather than as something which is done afterwards ‘to’ preexisting work.     

Learning to be a good orthographic reader

Recent years have brought about rapid advances in our understanding of reading and how it develops, particularly in relation to the importance of alphabetic coding skills. However, much less has been known about the transition from alphabetic decoding to the rapid and automatic orthographic recognition of words, which is the hallmark of skilled reading. The purpose of this special issue is to focus specifically on orthographic processes in reading and how they are acquired. The present paper provides an overview of the special issue, drawing attention to key themes that run through the various contributions.     

光电读卡机可行性设计

光电读卡机由上下位机两部分组成。下位机是反射式光电传感器作为答题卡信息采集工具,辨别出答题卡上相应的答案是否被涂黑。传感器输出的信号经电压比较器调理变为比较规则的信号送至微控制器,进行简单处理,把获取的信息变成选择题答案的形式暂存起来。每读完一张卡,把单片机暂存的数据通过串口通讯RS -22发送到上位机。然后,由基于虚拟仪器开发平台Labview的评分系统对读取的答案数据与标准答案比对,得出考生最终得分,并对所有考生的成绩进行相关处理和存储。     

Writing a thesis differently

In this paper we explore the contributions that Deleuze and Guattari have made to thinking/writing language and how these ideas can be put to work in producing a doctoral thesis. We contribute to the field of work within what Patti Lather and Elizabeth St Pierre have called the “post-qualitative” movement, where researchers attempt to “imagine and accomplish an inquiry that might produce different knowledge and produce knowledge differently”. We attempt to rethink the thesis text, using a language where language always falls apart, a way of talking/writing/reading about presentation of research within a doctoral thesis that will provide the writermachine a space to “pass”. The paper will provide some ideas and ways forward for writers who are attempting to deterritorialize research, who are attempting to experiment with new representational forms.
