Beauty of Ice and Snow on Canvas

Late September 2006, at the invitation of the Cultural Ministry of Belarus, a four-person delegation from northeast China＇s Heilongjiang Province visited Minsk, capital city of Belarus, to present China Ice and Snow Painting Exhibition at Belarus National Museum of History and Culture as part of China Culture Day co- sponsored by the cultural ministries of the two countries. The exhibition displayed 54 painting masterpieces by Yu Zhixue, founder of ice and snow painting, and his students. All the maior media organizations in Belarus reported the exhibition and Belarus Culture Daily gave an exclusive interview of Yu Zhixue. The Deputy Cultural Minister of Belarus was so impressed by the painting styles of Yu that he shook Yu＇s hands excitingly and highly praised Yu＇s works. A renowned Belarus painter said that ＂Trees with Crystal-White ice＂, donated by Yu to Belarus National Museum of History and Culture, would become an everlasting memory of the city of Minsk.     

Nanjing Fascinated by Arabic Charms

On June 27, 2006, the Arabic Arts Festival （Nanjing leg）, jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Jiangsu Provincial Culture Department and Nanjing Municipal Government, was launched in Nanjing Culture and Arts Center. The Arabic Arts Festival, the first of its kind jointly presented by 22 Arab nations in China, was a significant cultural event following the establishment of China-Arab Cooperation Forum in 2004. Major activities of the festival were presented in Beijing and as the only leg besides Beijing, Nanjing host several large-scale performances of Arabic singing and dancing arts.

The Culture and Finance Club was officially founded on June 16 in Beijing, an association co-established by China Society for the Promotion of Development-based Finance and China Society for the Promotion of Press and Culture. At the inauguration ceremony, CPPCC Vice Chairman Chen Yuan said that cooperation between culture and finance provides a key engine to drive the fast, sound and sustainable development of cultural industries in China.

The Seminar on Introducing Chinese Performing Arts to the US sponsored by the Bureau for External Cultural Relationsof Ministry of Culture was held in Beijing. It was attended by representatives of such leading cultural institutions as China National Peking Opera Company, National Theatre of China, China Arts andEntertainment Group and heads of many famous performing arts companies. Representatives of this seminar remarked that the content of this meeting was concrete, practical and inspiring.This is a move by the Ministry of Culture to encourage and support Chinese culture to go abroad under the strategy of＂Chinese culture going global＂.     

China in the Eyes of Arab Painters--Exhibition on Works of Residence Program for Arab Painters

On September 10, 2014 a grand opening ceremony of＂China in the Eyes of Arab Painters＂, an exhibition on works of residence program tor Arab painters, took place at the National Art Museum of China. This event was co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture of China and Secretariat of the League of Arab States and co-organized by China Arts and Entertainment Group and the National Art Museum of China.

The 16th Shanghai International Arts Festival, hosted by the Min istry of Culture of China and or ganized by Shanghai Municipal Gov ernment, took place from October 17 to November 16. Culture Tour Links Hearts of Chinese People Across the Taiwan Straits

From July 2 to 12, 2006, ＂Common Feelings Link Chinese People Across the Taiwan Straits＂, a culture tour co-sponsored by the Chinese Friendship Association through Culture and Henan Provincial Government, took place in the central province of Henan. Senior officials including Chinese Vice Minister of Culture Madam Meng Xiaosi and Vice Governor of Henan Province Madam Wang Jumei attended the event together with some 150 distinguished guests from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and Mainland.     

A Carnival for Animation Makers 9th China International Animation Festival Successfully Held in Changzhou
