Bringing Information Literacy into the Social Sphere: A Case Study Using Social Software to Teach Information Literacy at WFU

This article presents an approach to teaching information literacy in an academic course from a socio-technical perspective. It includes an overview of the course framework, a review of course contents, and an analysis of student responses provided through pre- and post-course surveys. The premise of the course design was that students bring a set of technical and information skills to class that address specific but not generalized information literacy goals. By designing a course to engage students from this perspective, the instructors hoped to find a new method for approaching information literacy instruction.     

面向学生成功的大学生信息素养评估实证研究

[目的/意义]探索如何在《高等教育信息素养框架》的指导下,开展面向学生成功的大学生信息素养评估工作。[方法/过程]通过嵌入创新项目的信息素养课程开展实证研究,从信息素养思维观念和实践能力两个层面分3个角度在时间维度和质量维度上进行评估,采集创新项目过程信息素养思维观念变化、实践能力评估及创新项目过程后个人信息素养实践能力评估数据。[结果/结论]研究显示嵌入创新项目的信息素养评估起到了两方面作用：一是通过评估促进学生信息素养思维观念转变和实践能力提升,培养元认知能力;二是评估能有效分析面向学生成功的信息素养教育成效,展示图书馆对学生成功的贡献度。     

Enhancing Information Literacy for Preservice Elementary Teachers: A Case Study from the United States

Through this study, a librarian and faculty team aimed to determine the extent to which a one-credit information literacy course deepened preservice teachers' understanding of information literacy. We employed a treatment and control group design; treatment participants received 15 hours of information literacy instruction while control participants received no direct information literacy instruction. Data sources included a questionnaire and think-aloud cognitive tasks. Analysis revealed that the one-credit course was insufficient for deepening preservice teachers' information literacy skills, leading to recommendations to enhance and expand instruction and recommendations for future study. Preparing teachers with effective information literacy skills who are also equipped to instruct youth to navigate the challenges of 21st Century information literacy is an important endeavor that requires collaboration and continuous assessment.

[目的/意义] 近年来,随着Web 2.0技术的发展和用户信息需求的变化,微内容服务成为高校图书馆的一个关注点,并取得了很大的进展。探索微视频服务,将有助于丰富图书馆信息资源体系,满足用户个性化信息需求,提高图书馆的社会影响力等。[方法/过程]通过研究微视频自身的特点及其产生的技术基础、微课和MOOC的发展及图书馆视频服务的实践,构建信息素养教育微视频案例库,分析高校图书馆微视频服务的必要性。[结果/结论]微视频服务有广阔的发展空间,高校图书馆可以构建微视频案例库来深化信息素养教育。     

Improving Information Literacy Skills for Psychology Majors: The Development of a Case Study Technique

This article describes the development of a faculty–librarian collaborative project that integrated discipline-specific information literacy into an upper-level psychology class. The instruction involved a case study technique in order to increase student engagement in a content area while helping students gain needed information literacy skills that meet professional guidelines. We found that employing this approach enhanced instructor ability to more fully and meaningfully engage with students within a more comfortable classroom atmosphere. This method may be easily adapted to other disciplines as it allows for much creativity and selection of course-relevant themes.     

“翻转课堂”应用于信息素养教育课程的实证研究

“翻转课堂”这种新型教学模式被称为课堂教学的重大变革,信息素养教育以网络数据库的检索与利用为主,非常适合采用这种教学模式.为了对比“翻转课堂”和传统课堂两种教学模式下的教学效果、师生学习体验等,作者在同一学期开设的信息素养教育课程的两个班级中分别采用了两种教学模式,以开展比较研究.对学生的调查表明,90％的“翻转课堂”班的学生以后还会选择该类型课程,71％的传统课堂班的学生会选择该类课程.研究还发现,“翻转课堂”确实可以提高学生的客观题的学习成绩尤其是多选题的成绩.影响“翻转课堂”教学模式下选课学生成绩的因素可能有:学生的自主学习能力、学科背景以及网络平台等.根据实证研究结果,为以后开展相关教学与研究提出了建议.     

Incorporating Undergraduate Advising in Teaching Information Literacy: Case Study for Academic Librarians as Advisors

The National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) Council for the Advancement of Standards (CAS) provides program guidelines for student learning and development outcomes. These recommended academic advising guidelines parallel those of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Information Literacy Competency Standards For Higher Education. Both standards focus on student behaviors and outcomes in higher education. The parallels that exist between academic advising and academic librarianship are confirmed by the case study described in this paper, in which an academic librarian served as an undergraduate academic advisor for one year.     

案例研究:武汉地区高校学生信息素养现状分析

本文以高校学生信息素养为研究对象,利用调研统计数据,对武汉地区高校学生的信息素养现状进行了分析.揭示了学生在信息需求、信息源选取和信息查找、信息获取能力及技巧、信息评价和处理、信息安全意识和信息伦理、信息素养认知和信息教育状况六个方面的特征,提出高校开展信息素养教育的策略,指出了正规和实用的信息素养教育是未来高校信息教育的发展方向.     

Using Discipline-Based Professional Association Standards for Information Literacy Integration: A Review and Case Study

This article describes the outcome of a collaboration between a faculty member and a librarian to integrate information literacy into a graduate counseling psychology program. This collaboration used discipline-based standards from a professional association (the Association of Counselor Education and Supervision, ACES) to provide instructional goals, rather than utilizing the more traditional Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) standards. The authors discuss how using the discipline standards allows for a richer, more authentic collaboration, especially in a graduate program geared toward students who are already working in their field. Ultimately, using discipline standards could be a more effective way to promote information literacy in graduate and professional programs.     

Critical Information Literacy Beyond the University: Lessons From Service in a Women's Health Interest Group

Library instruction methods most frequently focus on teaching students searching skills to navigate the maze of library databases to locate appropriate research materials. The current theory of critical information literacy instruction calls on librarians to spend more of their time in the classroom focused on understanding the social, political, and cultural construction of knowledge. In this article, the author provides a case study of the information environment in the National Women's Health Network, a women's health interest group, to help librarians facilitate nuanced discussions with students on the applicability of interest group literature inside and outside of the university classroom.     

消除数字鸿沟提高信息素养——以上海社区图书馆为例

尽管近几年来在许多发达国家和发展中国家信息环境有了很大的改善，但数字鸿沟仍没有缩小的迹象。图书馆在消除数字鸿沟中将起到核心的作用。本文通过上海地区公共图书馆电子服务，展示图书馆员与其他社会和教育工作者一起共同承担着提高市民信息素养的重任。图书馆员将以自己的知识、技能和专业精神，在消除数字鸿沟、创造数字机会中扮演重要的角色。     

Flipping the Business Information Literacy Classroom: Redesign,Implementation, and Assessment of a Case Study

A team of librarians at Purdue University transformed a business information literacy course from a traditional lecture, 40-student class into multiple sections of a flipped, 70-student classroom to meet the request that the successful course be required for all 500 undergraduate students. Scaling up required the adoption of flipped learning techniques for better utilization of library teaching resources. This case study provides key insights for others implementing credit classes or integrating similar content into one-shots or embedded work. It also describes the assessed results determined through student feedback (focus groups) and student performance (pre/post-tests).

标杆分析在信息素养教育中的应用与研究——以南通大学图书馆为例

[目的/意义]在回顾国内外图书馆领域对标杆分析方法的研究及应用的基础上,尝试将标杆分析方法应用于改进图书馆信息素养教育。[方法/过程]选择清华大学图书馆、上海交通大学图书馆和武汉大学图书馆3所优秀的大学图书馆作为标杆瞄准目标,构建由6个一级指标和22个二级指标组成的标杆分析指标体系来收集数据。从新生入馆教育、课程教学、资源与服务培训讲座、网络培训和特色项目等方面进行差距分析,拟定南通大学图书馆的标杆方案和具体的实施计划。[结果/结论]采用标杆分析的科学方法和标准流程,学习目的明确、指标全面、数据翔实,学习方案的制定和实施做到了有的放矢,有效推进。最后,总结标杆分析成功应用的关键要素,阐述标杆分析方法的优缺点和局限性,并展望后续研究的方向。

在分析国内高校信息素养课程现状的基础上，对信息素养课程的类型进行了规划，主要包括：独立课程（核心课程）、综合课程、活动课程和隐性课程。

Using Practitioner-engaged Evidence Synthesis to Teach Research and Information Literacy Skills: A Model and Case Study

Service learning connects learning in the classroom to real-world experience and presents opportunities for deeper library engagement in the curriculum and the teaching of critical information literacy. We present a model for teaching research and information literacy skills in the service learning context, making use of the evidence-based practice paradigm and engagement with community partners and practitioners in the field, connecting academic research to real-world practice and problem-solving. This model addresses some of the challenges of ACRL's Framework for Information Literacy in Higher Education and is adaptable to various disciplines and educational environments.
