This paper describes a debate held in the author‘s medicine major freshmen in class. The activity is intended to encourage students‘ autonomy, and to train students how to acquire various skills in language learning and communication. Through this activity, the students can get enough space to exert their autonomy, and the author can obtain her desired goals too: The center of teaching and learning shifts from the teacher to the students, that is, the students-centered teaching; given autonomous learning environment, students can learn more effectively; and students can acquire relevant abilities.

Equalization for continuous phase modulation over frequency-selective fading channels

This paper presents an equalization algorithm for continuous phase modulation (CPM) over frequency-selective channels. A specific training sequence is first embedded in each data packet. By recursive least-squares (RLS) estimation, the channel information parameters can be acquired, and a fractionally spaced equalizer performs joint decoding and equalization. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can acquire the channel information parameters rapidly and accurately, and that the fractionally spaced equalizer can eliminate the intersymbol interference (ISI) effectively, and is not sensitive to timing inaccuracy, so this algorithm can be exploited for demodulation system in burst mode.     

Numerical Simulation of Concrete Plate Damaged Under Explosive Loading

The grisliness after-effects can be induced by explosion accident with the collapsing of the structures, the demolishing of the equipments and the casualty of the human beings. Isolation belt constructed between the blast point and the construction is one of the useful design schemes for blast resistance. The nonlinear procedure ANSYS/LSDYNA970 is used to simulate the contact detonation and the isolation belt of blast resistance filled with the air or water respectively. The results indicate that the maximal damage can be caused by the contact detonation, and the isolation belt of blast resistent filled with water can reduce the damage greatly.

Prediction Model of Data Envelopment Analysis with Undesirable Outputs

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) has become a standard non-parametric approach to productivity analysis, especially to relative efficiency analysis of decision making units (DMUs). Extended to the prediction field, it can solve the prediction problem with multiple inputs and outputs which can not be solved easily by the regression analysis method. But the traditional DEA models can not solve the problem with undesirable outputs,so in this paper the inherent relationship between goal programming and the DEA method based on the relationship between multiple goal programming and goal programming is explored, and a mixed DEA model which can make all factors of inputs and undesirable outputs decrease in different proportions is built. And at the same time,all the factors of desirable outputs increase in different proportions.

Deep-hole inner diameter measuring system based on non-contact capacitance sensor

A precise aperture measuring system of small deep holes with capacitance sensors is presented. Based on the working principle of non-contact capacitance sensors, influence of the edge effect of gauge head is studied, and one capacitance sensor for measuring the aperture of the small blind holes or through holes is introduced. The system is composed of one positioning device, one aperture measuring capacitance sensor, one measuring circuit, and software. This system employs visual CCD and two-dimensional micro-adjusting mechanism to realize the precise positioning. By LabView software this system is controlled to run automatically, to carry out calibration and automatic data collection, and to make data import into the database directly. Experiments proved that the diameter measurement range of the system can be 1.8 mm—7 mm, the resolution can be up to 5 nm—10 nm, the repeatability measurement standard deviation can be 0.05 μm—0.1 μm, and the measurement uncertainty can achieve 0.15 μm—0.3 μm. So the measuring system can realize the nanometer-level measurement.

Improved Parallel Processing Function for High-Performance Large-Scale Astronomical Cross-Matching

Astronomical cross-matching is a basic method for aggregating the observational data of different wavelengths. By data aggregation, the properties of astronomical objects can be understood comprehensively. Aiming at decreasing the time consumed on I/O operations, several improved methods are introduced, including a processing flow based on the boundary growing model, which can reduce the database query operations; a concept of the biggest growing block and its determination which can improve the performance of task partition and resolve data-sparse problem; and a fast bitwise algorithm to compute the index numbers of the neighboring blocks, which is a significant efficiency guarantee. Experiments show that the methods can effectively speed up cross-matching on both sparse datasets and high-density datasets.

Joining of ZrO2／CePO4 Green Bodies Using Slurries

Ce-ZrO2 and ZrO2/CePO4 ceramic system was joined in the green body by using mixed powder. Three kinds of systems are discussed. The microstructure and bending strengths of the joint were investigated and it is found that the Ce-ZrO2 and 30％CePO4/ZrO2 ceramics can be well joined in the green body. A joint with high mechanical property and good microstructure can be obtained after sintering without applied pressure. Complexly shaped ceramic components can be created by the technique of green state joining. A new way to produce them is provided and the cost is reduced due to the simplicity of the process.
