This paper presents an introduction to and an overview of the papers in a special section of this journal for which we acted as guest editors. As guest editors, we have aimed at presenting a collection of regional papers that together give an overview of the present state of the teaching of ethics in the engineering curricula in three continents: the USA, Europe and Australia. In our own paper, we provide historical information concerning the motivation for and the development of engineering ethics, point to important topics and trends that arise from the regional papers, and identify the main challenges for the future.  相似文献

目的从文献引证的角度透视《昆明大学学报》的学术水平和期刊编辑特点。方法引用《CNK I知网数字图书馆》的中国学术期刊网络出版总库中的《中国期刊文献引证数据库》,采用文献计量学方法对该刊2001~2005年载文被《中国期刊文献引证数据库》来源期刊引用的情况进行统计分析及评价。结果该刊2001~2005年共载文283篇,被引用103篇,占发表文章总数的36.39%。被引用次数共231次,其中单篇平均被引次数为2.24次;被引频次5次的论文数量为9篇。结论:《昆明大学学报》所载文献与本校办学方向、教学内容结合紧密。  相似文献

News and views     
This is a new section of the journal which will appear once a year, or more often if there is a clear demand for it. The intention is to provide a place for short (no more than 1000‐word) contributions from readers who would like to inform others of particular developments or issues, or who would like to present brief position statements on specific curricular themes.

We hope, particularly, that the local groups of the Curriculum Association, our overseas corresponding editors and members of our advisory board will use the opportunity this provides to draw colleagues’ attention to trends, developments and issues of which we ought to be aware at this time of rapid change. The need to stay in touch has never been greater.  相似文献

Conclusion In order to make PIHnet forum more usable and useful, we recently redesigned the forum tool based on findings from a survey, interviews and observations of user posting patterns. We also developed a journal tool to assist teachers with their personal reflection. Interviews with four users showed that the new forum was easy to use and effectively helped them communicate with other members. We are still developing the journal tool, so user experiences with the new journal tool have not been investigated yet. We will continue to improve the tools based on critical feedback from actual users.  相似文献

This article is the first of a series of three that reviews the citation patterns of references cited in the entire collection of International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) journal articles (1962–2007) and all chapters published in the three editions of Handbook of Human Performance Technology (1992, 1999, and 2006). It includes an analysis of journal articles cited and lists which journals and particular articles are cited most frequently, both overall and by decade. Part 2 in this series will present an analysis of books cited in the entire ISPI literature collection, and part 3 will report on the most cited authors, both overall and by type of reference (e.g., journal articles, books, sections of books, reports, conference papers, dissertations).  相似文献

In this study a teacher trainer analyses 56 papers from the journal Educational Studies and, applying specific criteria, determines the extent to which their content can be said to have applications to and implications for educational practice. Section 1 of the study explores the general context of the sample papers. Findings here show that in this set of papers the academic research is conducted and written almost exclusively by staff within Schools of Education in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs); that the authorship includes a higher proportion of males than females; that research style is mainly empirical and that gender may play a role in the research style itself; and, significantly for this study, that the titles of these papers, when considered exclusively, imply a close association with the classroom context. In Section 2, a systematic scrutiny of the content of a sub-sample of the papers reveals a significant trend of potential, as opposed to actual relevance to educational policy and practice—at variance with the findings for the study of their titles alone in Section 1. Additional findings are that there is little evidence in the papers of direct collaboration between HEIs and schools. Finally, Section 3 contains the author's personal reflections on communication of the research message within the sample and ways are suggested in which the writing in academic journals generally might be made 'barrier-free' to the wider educational community. Concluding comments tend to be made as appropriate within the body of the paper at the point of discussion. The main conclusion briefly considers the role of Initial Teacher Training tutors in Higher Education, and the issue of monitoring language and communication style in academic research.  相似文献

Educational guidance is often seen as something good and empowering for the individual. In the present article, such taken‐for‐granted ideas will be destabilised by analysing educational guidance as a practice in which confession operates as a technology that fosters and governs specific subjectivities. White papers produced by the Swedish Ministry of Education will be analysed drawing on Foucault’s concepts of technologies of the self and governmentality. I shall argue that the practice of educational guidance fosters our will to learn through the technology of confession. We are not only confessing ourselves to, and are the confessors of others, we are also our own confessors; that is, we confess our inner desires to ourselves, thus participating in shaping desirable subjectivities. Our desires in life coincide with the political ambition to govern, and thus we govern ourselves.  相似文献

Interdisciplinary research is being promoted in many quarters as the way forward, but “research islands” still persist. Taking computer‐assisted learning (CAL) within health sciences as a case in point, this paper describes a detailed study of the references to source material within papers published in general medical, specific nursing and general information and communications technology journals as pointing to papers published either in the same category of journal or journals of other categories. The results show that research within this area exhibits a disquieting inbred approach. Furthermore, there is clear evidence of a tendency amongst the papers examined to cite research published in journals with broadly the same impact factors as the journal in which the papers themselves are published. A discussion of the value of journal impact factors, which are a crude but useful index of the quality of journal, and their possible effect on the future of research in CAL within health sciences is embedded in the paper.  相似文献

根据文献计量学的原理和方法,对《鞍山师范学院学报》2004—2008年间的载文量、作者发文量、核心作者群进行了统计分析,以期综合反映学报的办刊水平和发展现状,为该刊的更好发展提供科学参考数据.研究结果表明,该刊载文量稳定,信息量较大,但期均载文量有些偏高;有稳定的核心作者群,但结构不尽合理;基金载文率稳步上升,但国家级和省级课题明显不足.建议继续办好特色栏目,结合学校重点学科主动组稿,提高载文水平.  相似文献

Alan Baker, who died on the 4th of February of this year, was born in England on the 19th of August 1939. In 1965 he defended his doctoral dissertation titled ‘Some Aspects of Diophantine Approximation’ at Trinity College Cambridge under the guidance of Harold Davenport. It is a very unusual fact that eight of his papers, including [1], which is discussed in the next section, had appeared in print before he submitted his doctoral dissertation. Baker was awarded the Fields Medal in 1970 at the International Congress of Mathematicians at Nice. Other honors he received are detailed in the Article-in-a-Box in this issue.In the present text, we will discuss his paper [1] and the ‘Baker theory of linear forms in logarithms’, which started with the series of four papers [2, 3, 4, 5] published in the British journal Mathematika. This new theory was an impressive breakthrough in the field of Diophantine approximation and we will briefly present some of its applications. The Organizational Communication, Learning, and Design Department at Ithaca College is experimenting with educational methods that situate learning in authentic contexts, for example, in real cases with actual clients. We hope that these methods will better prepare our students for skilled practice in the complex situations and environments where they will work. One of our efforts has focused on an upper-level undergraduate course titled Performance Technology, for which we have developed a variety of what we believe are innovative strategies and activities. Results have been encouraging and have suggested more direct and powerful links between preparation and practice.  相似文献

The papers in this special issue are at the vanguard of advancing knowledge about school suspensions and exclusions and in establishing a critical evidence base which educational policy and school-based initiatives can access in efforts to re-enact meaningful inclusion for some of our most vulnerable students. Hosting and showcasing emerging knowledge in this space is an important role for JORSEN as a journal which promotes educational inclusion. This short editorial offers an overview of the papers included in this special issue and suggests common issues in the important emerging field of research into the educational exclusion and suspension of students with disabilities.  相似文献

所谓B类题库,是指多套已组好的平行试卷的集合,其实质是"卷库",且试卷中的题目一般不标明属性和参数。在A类题库之外建设B类题库有其必要性。它不仅建设周期短、发挥攻效快、建设成本少,而且在难度控制、考试安全等方面也具有一定优势。同时,B类题库可以为最终建成A类库奠定良好的基础。B类题库可以有"试卷库"、"模块库"等多种形式,而模块则可根据需要以多种方法进行拆分。当然,B类题库也存在一些缺陷和问题,比如试卷等值、题目查(?)、试题更新等。为有效解决这些问题,我们已经研究出一些办法,并且还将继续进行探索,使B类题库在考试命题工作中发挥更大的效益和作用。  相似文献

To counteract what we see as a growing research-reporting concern, we propose the following editorial-policy change regarding the content of primary research articles in educational research journals: Contributors should restrict their discussion and conclusions to their data and not offer recommendations for educational practice nor speculate about the educational policy implications of their research. We believe that this change will be beneficial for maintaining a separation between evidence and opinion concerning the legitimate warrants of empirical research. We suggest viable accompaniments and alternatives to authors offering practical recommendations and policy speculations in primary-research journal articles. Among these is to rely on all sources of evidence, including systematic research syntheses based on the aggregated contribution of multiple research studies from different sources, with recommendations for practice tailored to specific situations so that both their validity and utility will be increased. It is hoped that our proposed policy change will initiate a conversation among researchers, editors, reviewers, and educational-policy experts with respect to the scope and purpose of primary research journal articles.  相似文献

本文考察了1980~2020年澳大利亚高等教育研究40年的发展状况,首先简要回顾了澳大利亚高等教育的发展历史,然后基于澳大利亚高等教育联合会官方会刊《高等教育研究与发展》上发表的期刊文章,对这40年来的研究论文进行了系统地分析,旨在说明澳大利亚高等教育研究的变化和发展轨迹。分析表明,2000年以后,研究主题变得更加多元化,包括宏观政策层面的讨论以及微观教学改革方面的探讨;研究来源也更加国际化,从澳大利亚本土研究逐步涵盖了来自世界不同国家的研究;女性学者发文量多于男性研究人员;在研究方法上以质性研究占主导地位,大多数研究将各种理论概念结合作为文章的分析框架,许多研究没有采用理论工具并且很少研究是基于单一理论的。最后,本文讨论了在COVID-19大流行及以后期间澳大利亚高等教育研究的潜在方向。  相似文献

The aim of this article is to start a debate about the inclusiveness/exclusiveness of the field of gender and education, and what change might be possible. While we focus on the field of gender and education as a whole (including its journals and academic practices), our main sources of evidence are our own experiences as gender researchers on different sides of the Anglophone divide, and a small survey of articles in this journal, Gender and Education, chosen because it is the main journal of choice for those hoping to make a contribution to the field. We examined articles published in three years, 1990, 1998 and 2007, in order to identify if and how the journal (and hence the field) has changed in orientation over time. Following a discussion of the survey outcomes, we draw attention in particular to the journal’s Anglophone orientation and the implications this has for the field as a whole. We further argue for greater reflexivity about our and other’s practices as feminist academics, and propose some strategies for action with the aim of making the field more inclusive.  相似文献
