The imagination is essential to drama, but teachers, and leading practitioners rarely examine it in detail. This article considers the sources of the imagination, and the relationship it has with creativity within the context of improvisation. The significance of originality as a criterion of quality, and the place imitative practices have within it, are considered. Alternative functions of the imagination are suggested to counter the concern that intertextuality and self-referencing stifle creativity.  相似文献

The authors conducted a phenomenological investigation of creative teaching with 10 counselor educators. The resulting 4 themes suggest creative teaching (a) is shaped by past experiences, (b) promotes student engagement, (c) is not formulary, and (d) requires risk taking. Implications for creative teaching strategies and training are provided. Limitations and implications for future research on creative pedagogy are discussed.  相似文献

This paper presents a field experiment examining the effect of drama education on the psychological development of grades 1 and 4 students. The drama curriculum was delivered after school for one day each week for 16 weeks. Students in the experimental group attended drama education classes, whereas students in the control group took part in the other unstructured extra-curricular activities. Pre- and post-tests of creativity, and story-telling test were given to the students. With respect to creativity, the experimental group was found to score significantly higher than the control group. Significant grade differences were also found, with grade 4 students scoring higher on the measure of drawing but lower on divergent thinking than grade 1 students. No sex difference was found. These findings have important implications for the educational curriculum which are discussed.  相似文献

This article examines the pedagogical tensions involved in trying to usestudents' ideas as the basis for class discussion while also ensuring thatdiscussion is productive mathematically. The data for this study of theteaching of one middle-school teacher come from observations andvideotapes of instruction across a school year as well as interviews with theparticipating teacher. Specifically, the article describes the teacher'sattempts to support a student-centered process of mathematicaldiscourse and, at the same time, facilitate discussions of significantmathematical content. This tension in teaching was not easily resolved;throughout the school year the teacher shifted his emphasis betweenmaintaining the process and the content of the classroom discourse.Nevertheless, at times, the teacher balanced these competing goals by usinga ``filtering approach' to classroom discourse. First multiple ideas aresolicited from students to facilitate the process of student-centeredmathematical discourse. Students are encouraged to elaborate theirthinking, and to compare and evaluate their ideas with those that havealready been suggested. Then, to bring the content to the fore, the teacherfilters the ideas, focusing students' attention on a subset of themathematical ideas that have been raised. Finally, the teacher encouragesstudent-centered discourse about these ideas, thus maintaining a balancebetween process and content.  相似文献

In this article, we present insights from an ethnographic research that investigated the concept of citizenship in primary schools in Greece. We explored children’s experiences of citizenship in school approaching citizenship as a set of habits that prescribe what is considered ‘legitimate’ in the public sphere. We focused on structures and agents inside and outside the school classroom and the way they may interfere with pedagogical practices and relationships. This work reveals a vicious circle of asymmetrical relationships and hierarchical structures between the society and the school that entrap teachers in assessment-oriented pedagogical practices. We argue that the emergent loyalty of the educational system to traditional pedagogical approaches premised on competition fosters pupils’ incomprehension of the importance of social solidarity. It also contributes to their withdrawal from the public sphere, undermining the transformative potential of education. With the use of a diverse sample, we highlight the shortcomings of the integrated curriculum introduced in 2001, in successfully promoting critical thinking and participatory learner-centred pedagogy, and we discuss the implications for the transformative potential of education arising from the adherence to the implementation of European education policy that is discerned in the text of the newly introduced Curriculum of the ‘New School’.  相似文献

The disciplinary intersection between community work and design is under‐explored. Despite similarities in both the context and values of the work, there has not been a significant critical comparison of their respective approaches in either theory or practice. This article suggests that informal education offers an alternative lens to consider both disciplines and inform future practice. More specifically, it considers the relevance of informal education principles in design education and design practice that has an explicit social focus. This discussion is drawn from doctoral practitioner action research in Scotland during 2016–18. The fieldwork focused on the different outlooks and approaches to work in community settings from both design and community work perspectives.  相似文献

A teacher at an urban middle school worked to become part of her students’ communities and utilized the notion of community within her pedagogy. Her example offers hope that engaging with students’ communities and building community within the classroom are attainable and valuable goals. In order to research and improve her practice, a teacher educator examined her life history and its relation to the ethical and moral discourses of society using autobiography as a self-study methodology. This critical reflection provided the basis for contextualizing praxis-oriented teacher education in an urban school. Based on the transformative framework of critical pedagogy coupled with a self-study of teacher education practices, this article explores how a teacher educator engages in research relating to the self, professional practice, and the analysis of the tensions surrounding otherness and oppression. Critical pedagogy provided the means and the methods to facilitate reflection upon her own earned and unearned privilege in society and paved the way for an agency of change in her practice.  相似文献

台湾地区现行学制内的戏剧教学是依《艺术教育法》(1997),在《国民教育阶段九年一贯课程总纲纲要》(1998)、《国民教育阶段九年一贯课程纲要》(2003)中,正式纳入于国民教育“艺术与人文”学习领域之内;高级中学(含高职)则设于《普通高级中学艺术生活科课程纲要》(2008)“艺术生活”科内的“表演艺术”类课程中。这些法令确立了戏剧课程为新增的一门通识艺术教育。依表演艺术教学的法令规章与学理内涵的探讨可知,这种表演艺术的核心是在“表演学”(Acting)的学习。其教学以创作性戏剧、教育戏剧、教育剧场、儿童剧场、青少年剧场等方式实施,以避免表演艺术成为专业职业的训练导向之教学。在实施方面,建议对学校排课、师资、辅导员职责与奖励制度、课程系统化以及培养表演艺术高级人方面做考虑。  相似文献

常州金坛市各乡镇积极推进、深化社区教育和终身教育的改革,初步形成了一些成人教育、社区教育的特色乡镇。薛埠、指前、儒林三个乡镇对成人教育工作十分重视,成人教育工作得到了不同程度的发展,形成了各自的特色,积累了一些宝贵的经验。但是,在成人教育中心向社区教育中心转变的过程中还存在很多问题需要解决,为此,在开展农村社区教育时必须正确定位,统筹规划;整合资源,理顺关系;建立一支稳定的专职教师队伍;充分发挥教育督导的作用;加强社区教育特色项目的建设。  相似文献

推动社区教育发展,政府、社会、居民都是主体,其中政府不仅是社区教育的推动者,而且也是社区教育的最大受益者。但是仅仅依靠政府的力量推动社区教育是不够的,必须政府、社会、居民各方力量共同参与。台湾地区开展社区教育较早,其运作方式与大陆地区存在截然不同的特点,主要是政府在社区教育产生、发展过程中所扮演的角色差异。由于文化共同,台湾经验对于大陆是值得借鉴的,也能对大陆社区教育的发展有所启迪。  相似文献

教育戏剧(Drama In Education,DIE)注重把戏剧作为一种教育的工具和手段,突出和强化了戏剧的教育功能.在学校推广教育戏剧既有利于改进教学方法、丰富教育手段,又有利于学生综合素质和各种能力的培养.推广教育戏剧与加强戏剧教育是紧密相关的,两者之间是相辅相成的.而戏剧教育的普及和教育戏剧的推广,又与各种演出实践活动是紧密结合在一起的,因此大力推动校园戏剧的繁荣发展,无疑是一个十分重要的环节.  相似文献

随着我国教育界对绿色教育关注的日益升温,世界其他国家和地区的有关教育理念和实践可以为我们提供借鉴.国际上与我国绿色教育概念最接近的概念是环境教育以及稍后延伸出的可持续发展教育.经过近几十年来各国教育者和一些国际组织的不断探讨和推动,环境教育(以及后来的可持续发展教育)已经具备了相当程度的理论与实践基础,我们有必要在这个基础上不断推进我国绿色教育的理论与实践探索.总的看来,目前国际上的环境教育和可持续发展教育呈现出四大特征:一是各方普遍将教育视为环境保护的重要方面;二是在学校中注重环境教育的综合性和跨学科性;三是关注教师教育对于环境教育的重要作用;四是将关注重心从人与环境之间的关系延伸至自然和人类社会各个方面的全面协调和可持续发展.  相似文献
