学校教学的动力分析

教学要形成良好的动力体系,必须最充分地依托和发挥人的生命力量,必须找到和拥有教学的原动力,促使原动力更有效地发挥作用。教学的原动力是儿童的学习天性,是儿童的学。这是因为学是先发的、本原的、自然的,是教育本体的因素,更是最活跃的、多变的目标性因素,是教的目的和归依;而发自外部的教,是后来的、可改变的,是居于助动力地位的。今天基础教育的问题,总的来说可以归结为教育内部动力不足、动力体系极不合理,而问题解决的关键是通过把主要依靠教转变为主要依靠学,以实现教育生产力的巨大解放。

An approach of this nature is by definition innovative if only because of its prior absence. In order for this kind of instruction to take root and survive, a high degree of sensitivity must be demonstrated by the architect and implementors of the instruction.     

Research into the School as an Organization. II: The School as a Complex Organization

Berg, G. & Wallin, E. 1982. Research into the School as an Organization. II: The School as a Complex Organization. Scandinavian Journal of Educational Research 26, 161‐181. This article starts by examining the development of general organization theory, then proposes an overall organization model for analysing the school. A distinction is made between the school as an institution and the school as an organization, the latter defined as a function of the control emanating from the societal and the ‘actor’ level. A set of conceptual tools believed to describe and analyse the school as an organization is outlined. In the latter part of the article an illustration of how the theoretical discussion can be applied to practical situations is given, firstly by an analysis of a case study and secondly by giving examples of factors worth taking into account in concrete analyses of the organizational structures of schools.     

The Pupil's Experience of School Organization

The paper is concerned with the development, validation and use of management competencies; the focus is upon the position of heads within the maintained‐schools sector. Issues germane to competencies and their usage are discussed, as are the criteria to be met for competencies to have applicability to the education sector. The generation of management competencies for heads through a national job analysis involving some 255 heads is described. Headteacher management competencies are presented, and practical alternatives for their use discussed. Finally, a working framework is developed of how competencies generated for senior educational positions stand in relation to competencies which are applicable in other occupational sectors.

The Brighton School Board and Technical Instruction Committee: a study in conflict

ABSTRACT

This article describes the strained relationship between the Brighton School Board and the Brighton Technical Instruction Committee in the late nineteenth century, putting the Brighton events into a national context. The troubled relationship between the two organisations is explained in terms of the overlap of their functions, which, in turn, stemmed from the imprecise definitions of technical and secondary education prevailing in the nineteenth century. However, a comparison of relationships between school boards and technical instruction committees in other towns indicates that a number of factors were involved in determining the degree of cooperation, or its absence, between the two organisations and not just a lack of clear demarcation of their respective roles. Some comments are made on the possible significance of the events described in the nineteenth century and developments in education and training during recent years.

随着人们对学习社会认识的不断深入,学习社会的基本细胞——学习型组织,日益得到广泛的重视。本文从学习型组织的基本特点入手,引出学习型组织的典范——学习型学校。从什么是学习型学校、学校里教师学习的特点、学校应为社区做出贡献等几个方面,说明学习型学校应该在学习社会的创建中发挥应有的作用,成为学习型组织的典范,促进学习社会的形成。     

The School for Science and Math at Vanderbilt: An Innovative Research-Based Program for High School Students

The School for Science and Math at Vanderbilt (SSMV) is an innovative partnership program between a Research I private university and a large urban public school system. The SSMV was started in 2007 and currently has 101 students enrolled in the program, with a total of 60 students who have completed the 4-yr sequential program. Students attend the SSMV for one full day per week during the school year and 3–6 wk in the summers following their ninth- to 11th-grade years, with each grade of 26 students coming to the Vanderbilt campus on a separate day. The research-based curriculum focuses on guiding students through the process of learning to develop questions and hypotheses, designing projects and performing analyses, and communicating results of these projects. The SSMV program has elevated the learning outcomes of students as evidenced by increased achievement scores relative to a comparison group of students; has provided a rigorous research-based science, technology, engineering, and mathematics elective curriculum that culminates in a Summer research internship; has produced 27 Intel and Siemens semifinalists and regional finalists over the past 4 yr; and has supported the development of writing and communication skills resulting in regional and national oral presentations and publications in scientific journals.     

高职英语视听说教学的改革与实践

随着现代教育技术的发展,多媒体技术进入课堂辅助教学日渐普遍。文中首先概说了多媒体辅助教学的优点和缺点,然后,笔者结合自己的教学实践,论述了如何改进高职英语视听说教学内容和教学方法的几个方面,例证了文化导入的必要性,论证了交际教学法和任务型教学法是提高多媒体辅助英语视听说教学效果的有效方法;最后,强调高职英语教师要根据ISO9000系列标准,改善自身的素质,才能搞好英语听说教学的素质教育。
