研究型大学本科教学质量保证体系探索

本文探索了研究型大学在扩大招生规模的情况下本科教学质量的保证问题,提出应以准确先进的培养目标、丰富优质的教学资源、规范有序的管理服务以及适度有效的监控评估作为质量保证体系的基本要素,并结合华中科技大学的实践,阐述了围绕质量保证体系建设,在学科大类课程平台的形成、精品课程建设与实验室建设、管理重心下移与服务意识增强、院系教学自我管理机制的建立等方面所取得的成效。     

Innovations in Scholarship at a Student-Centered Research University: An Australian Example

The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning movement is now truly international although national and contextual differences affect its implementation. Institutional capacities for and openness to innovation vary widely and cannot be readily predicted. The research university referred to in this article has a conservative reputation in Australia, yet its new teaching and learning strategies are not only unique in Australia but have attracted international attention. This article analyses how a large research university has introduced radical changes in teaching and learning in ways which embody scholarly ideals and are also consistent with the University's overall research mission.     

大学生运动损伤调查研究——以皖西学院为例

通过文献资料法、问卷调查法和数理统计法对皖西学院全日制在校大学生的运动损伤情况进行调查研究,旨在了解运动损伤的原因,找出运动损伤的特点,为大学生预防运动损伤,合理健康的参加体育运动提供指导。研究发现:大学生运动损伤半数以上发生在课余运动;踝部损伤和关节扭伤比例最高;篮球运动最易发生运动损伤;思想不重视、运动损伤知识不足、准备活动不合理、运动技术动作错误、身体机能和心理状态不良是发生运动损伤的主要原因。

本文从研究型大学本科生教育的特点出发，强调在研究型大学本科生中实行科研训练的必要性，陈述了“大学生科研训练计划”的实施方法和已取得的成效；并着重对目前实施过程中存在的一些问题进行分析和探讨。     

Lakota Undergraduates as Partners in Aging Research in American Indian Communities

Studies have established the beneficial role of engaging students in research at both the graduate and undergraduate level. Authentic research experiences serve as a tool for instruction where students are actively involved in the process of discovery, the scientific method, and advancing existing fields with scientific data. Further, students report that they enjoy such experiences, making them more likely to pursue and maintain active careers in the sciences. Engaging minority students as active partners in faculty research not only involves them in the scientific process, but also enables others to gain access to minority participants in a culturally-appropriate manner. This paper focuses on the mutually beneficial role of American Indian students as active partners in faculty research on aging, where they played a vital role in the development and completion of the project. The benefits for the students included high retention rates for a typically at-risk group of college students, a mentoring relationship with a faculty member, and opportunities to blend their cultural background with the college experience.     

中国地质大学（北京）本科生教材使用情况的调查

本文就中国地质大学（北京）在校本科生对旧教材使用情况进行了抽样调查,得出不同年级的学生在旧教材使用、需求类型上均有差距。低年级学生是旧教材市场的需求主体,高年级学生则是供给主体。基于对调查数据的分析,我们认为在我校建立旧教材小交易市场具有必要性和可行性。建立和完善旧教材小交易市场的重点是旧教材信息交换的准确性、及时性和方便性,这不仅需要建立网上交易平台,而且还需要学校给予适当的支持。

Aging Research with Students in a University with a Strong Teaching Mission

A National Institute on Aging-funded pilot project to study advice-giving by older adult mothers to their middle-aged daughters was undertaken in a medium-sized teaching-intensive university. The student body and community are highly diverse, and many undergraduates are first-generation college students. In this context, undergraduate psychology majors and master's students were hired as research assistants. Their tasks were to enter and check data as well as to recruit and test older-adult and middle-aged women in their homes and by telephone. The students were successful in all tasks, with the exception of recruitment, an especially difficult task even for the primary investigator. The research program also served the university's mission of community involvement.

普通师范大学生人格特质的调查分析

师范大学学生的人格特质不同于其他高校大学生。运用Cattall 16PF测查发现，在16项人格中，各项值均在4～7之间，而在8项次级人格中，创造力、专业有成就、在新的环境中成长能力分数偏低。应通过建立心理档案、开设心理健康课程、设置专门辅导机构和队伍、开展个别咨询与团体训练以及开展创新教育、专业教育来塑造大学生的人格。     

An Introductory Research Experience in Mathematics for Undergraduates

Abstract

This paper offers a strategic initiative designed to boost the level of collaborative mathematical research involving undergraduate mathematics students at Butler University. It describes goals, program design, logistics, and outcomes for an 8-day intensive summer experience in which undergraduate mathematics majors engaged in original mathematical research at an introductory level.     

Infusing Aging Content Into a Research Course: A National Organization and University Partnership

Increased longevity coupled with inadequate savings makes retirement savings and investment research increasingly important. A policy-capturing method was used to examine the relative importance of 6 demographic predictors on the retirement investment decisions of 64 working adults. All predictors were significant predictors of the investment. In addition, although age differences on amount of investment were not significant, interactions between participant age and vignette information were found. Results indicate that older and younger adults make similar decisions using different pieces of information. These findings have implications for individuals planning for retirement and financial professionals who help others make decisions.     

Award Winning University Teachers' Beliefs About Teaching Versus Research

The restructuring of higher education in Australia has meant the redefinition of the roles of former Colleges of Advanced Education staff regarding research, thus re‐opening for debate the question of the relative importance of teaching and research in universities and the relationship between the two. This article explores these issues through the perceptions of the first 12 winners of awards for excellence in teaching at the University of Sydney. As might be expected, the award winners tended to give higher priority to teaching than to research but in doing so made many significant comments about the two. Comments about the relationship between teaching and research ranged from supporting the idea that the two are independent to the belief that they were interdependent. More complex views were taken by those who saw teaching and research in constant interaction. The article concludes with questions as to the likely beliefs of those whose eminence is as researchers rather than as teachers.

作为由传统地学院校转型而来的多科性院校,在发展新的学科专业的同时保持并发展地学类专业的优势和特色,是学校持续发展的关键。为此,成都理工大学地质类本科专业教育对打造地学类专业的办学特色、在专业建设上实施品牌战略、理顺通才教育和专才教育以及大众化教育和精英教育关系等方面进行了积极探索和实践;建议重塑地质专业精神、加强野外地质实践教学环节以及给予必要的政策扶持,努力打造西部地区资源、环境、地质基础研究的知识创新平台。     

提升高校生物学类本科生科研能力的探讨

在高等教育过程中,培养和提升生物学类本科生的科研水平,决定生物学类本科生的教育质量好坏。通过总结多年生物学教学实践,笔者认为,优化生物学理论课程体系、统筹设计生物学课程实验项目、引导学生适时参与相关科研工作,并与毕业论文设计课题相结合,可以有效提升本科生科研能力。
