Study on Sorption of Monocrotophos and Parathion—methyl on Yellow River‘s Sediments

A study on the sorption of monocrotophos and parathion-methyl on Yellow River‘s sediments was performed.The influence of some factors,such as pH value and ionic strength,on the sorption was investigated and first order kinetics mode for the sorption of monocrophos was shown.Freundlich isotherm was suggested as the most appropriate type for monocrophos an parathion-methyl.But the sorption isotherms of monocrotophos and parathion-methyl are also in conformity with Langmuir equation.Both partition and adsorption occur to the sorption of monocrophos to Yellow River‘s sediments.but partition is the predominant for that of parathionmethyl.     

The Use of Music for Learning Languages

Lightweight design technology of planet carrier for wind turbine gearbox

A finite element model of one-arm planet carrier was built, and influence of structural parameters on strength and stiffness for one-arm planet carrier was analyzed. The stress and deformation of the round structure and the triangle structure for one-arm planet carrier were analyzed and compared. The finite element model of the same specifications arms planet carrier was established, and influence of the connecting slab thickness and input side plate thickness on strength and stiffness for arms planet carrier was analyzed. Strength, stiffness and mass for one-arm and arms planet carrier in the same specifications were analyzed and compared.     

An Adaptive Finite Element Method Based on OptimalError Estimates for Linear Elliptic Problems

The subject of the work is to propose a series of papers about adaptive finite element methods based on optimal error control estimate. This paper is the third part in a series of papers on adaptive finite element methods based on optimal error estimates for linear elliptic problems on the concave comer domains. In the preceding two papers (part 1 : Adaptive finite element method based on optimal error estimate for linear elliptic problems on concave comer domain; part 2:Adaptive finite element method based on optimal error estimate for linear elliptic problems on nonconvex polygonal domains), we presented adaptive finite element methods based on the energy norm and the maximum norm. In this paper, an important result is presented and analyzed. The algorithm for error control in the energy norm and maximum norm in part 1 and part 2 in this series of papers is based on this result.     

Making DDL Engaging Through Advance Organizers and Prediction Activities

This paper addresses some of the requirements of the advance organizers and prediction activities for DDL(Data-Driv en Learning) based on multi-modal corpora for learning English as a second language.It analyzes preliminary advantages and dis advantages of using multi-modal corpora for DDL and focuses on key methodological issues related to self-guided learning and corpus operation.Pedagogical suggestions are provided on how to make the multi-modal corpora based DDL engaging in accor dance with Krashen’ s Language Input Hypothesis with the assistance of advance organizers and prediction activities.     

Promoting Positive Backwash on Practical English Test for Colleges

Practical English Test for Colleges (PRETCO) is a large-scale national standardized EFL test for the students of higher vocational colleges,postsecondary specialized colleges,and colleges for adults.This thesis is for a preliminary research of PRETCO backwash based on previous studies from home and abroad,making use of their research methods and models.It attempts to explore the aspects of practical English learning of students from higher vocational colleges (HVC) influenced by PRETCO,and the nature of the backwash.Based on the results reported in the study,the writer analyzes the factors inducing negative backwash and puts forward some suggestions for promoting positive one.

Landscape design method for a green community based on green building design theory

Landscape design for a green community should be favorable for the ambient ecological environment and for enhancement of both the local climate of a residential area and the environmental quality of life. This paper presents optimization methods for plant landscape design that take account of results of comparisons of noise reduction effects, heat island temperature decreases and effects on ventilation. These methods are based on different plant configurations and various luminous environments, such as exterior sunshine and shaded areas after the simulation of exterior luminous, acoustic and thermal environments of a residential area using the analytic software ECOTECT, CADNA/A, and PHEONICS. Three different types of residential buildings are simulated including a faculty apartment in the Xixi Campus of Zhejiang University, the Huaqing Villa and the Gangwan Jiayuan faculty apartment of Zhejiang University, China, based on green building design theory. In addition, the methods and process flow of landscape design of green residential areas are also described for the improvement of the exterior physical living environment.     

Personal Review：Research on ethanol synthesis from syngas

It is a very fine substitutable energy technology to synthesize ethanol from biomass-derived syngas. This paper summarized the development of preparing ethanol from syngas, and especially elaborated on the research status of catalysts for the process. Based on the relative researches on the reaction mechanism, structure and performance of the catalysts, the optimum design of catalysts with high activity was presented in this review, which set the theoretical and application foundation for the industrial production of ethanol from syngas.     

Modeling of sensor function for piezoelectric bender elements

An analytical sandwich beam model for piezoelectric bender elements is derived based on the first-order shear deformation theory （FSDT）, which assumes a single rotation angle for the whole cross-section and a quadratic distribution for coupled electric potential in piezoelectric layers. Shear coefficient is introduced to correct the effect of transverse shear strain on shear force and the electric displacement integration. Static and free vibration analyses of simply-supported bender elements are carried out for the sensor function. The results illustrate the high accuracy of the present model compared with the exact 2D solutions.

Effectiveness of Corrective Feedback on Writing

This study aims to find out the effectiveness of corrective feedback on ESL writing.By reviewing and analyzing the previous six research studies,the author tries to reveal the most effective way to provide corrective feedback for L2 students and the factors that impact the processing of error feedback.Findings indicated that corrective feedback is helpful for students to improve ESL writing on both accuracy and fluency.Furthermore,correction and direct corrective feedbacks as well as the oral and written meta-linguistic explanation are the most effective ways to help students improving their writing.However,in dividual learner’s difference has influence on processing corrective feedback.At last,limitation of present study and suggestion for future research were made.

This paper first focuses on a brief evaluation of the teacher-centered and the learner-centered methodologies and the relevant result and the necessily for changing. Secondly,it represents the practical ways of teaching based on the learner-cen-tered approach in classrooms to show how students' initiative is given .Thirdly , it presents the guidance for fellow teachers and students in group activities .The author of the paper believes that getting students started is the initial step towards active learning and fruitful teaching. It is proposed that efforts made to get students involved should focus not only on forms of activities but also on their contents , skill integration and establishing cooperative relationships between teachers and students or among students.     

Initial and Boundary Value Problems for Two-Dimensional Non-hydrostatic Boussinesq Equations

Based on the theory of stratification, the weU-posedness of the initial and boundary value problems for the system of twodimensional non-hydrostatic Boussinesq equations was discussed. The sufficient and necessary conditions of the existence and uniqueness for the solution of the equations were given for some representative initial and boundary value problems. Several special cases were discussed.

Language has changed greatly in the information age. Linguistic changes markedly reflect on the lexical aspects, for words are the most active factors in language. Netspeak is a kind of special language which is between spoken language and written language. Essentially, as a social variance of the modem language, it changes with the type or style of the language depending on the differences of the language carriers. It is an identity denotation for surfers on the Internet and a medium or tool for them to challenge traditions. This paper analyses the features and word-formation of netspeak. We can have a better understanding of netspeak in the new era with an understanding of the knowledge of lexical changes and word-formation.     

Influence of structure plane size on seismic response of soil-structure interaction

The influence of the change of structure plane size on seismic response was studied for a soil-structure interaction system. Based on the finite element method, a soil-structure interaction calculation model was established to analyze the seismic response by changing the structure plane size and choosing different earthquake waves for different soil fields. The results show that when the natural periods of vibration for different structure plane sizes are close, under the same earthquake wave, the total displacement on the top layer of the structure and the foundation rotation displacement decrease with the increase of structure plane size, and the proportion of superstructure elastic selfdeformation displacement to the total displacement increases with the increase of structure plane size. While for different types of sites and seismic waves, under the horizontal and vertical seismic waves, the seismic responses of different plane sizes have a similar change rule.
