What＇s your impression about this meeing？ Dr. Briggs： This is about the 7 th or 8 th of ISRSE meetings which I attended over the last 15 years or so. The Beijing meeting is very well organized and very efficient. The program is very good. There are a lot of high quality speakers. I＇m impressed by the way that the program is being put together by the overall organization in Beijing which is excellent.     

Design of CMOS Mixer with Complementary Transconductance

<正>A current bleeding CMOS mixer with complementary transconductance stage is presented in this paper.The conversion gain of the mixer is increased and the flick noise of the mixer is reduced by inserting the PMOS to form current bleeding circuit in Gilbert mixer.The circuit is designed through SMIC 0.18um CMOS process,the LO frequency is 1.571GHz,RF frequency is 1.575GHz,simulation results show the conversion gain of the mixer is 18.5 dB,SSB NF is about 9.59dB,and third-order input intercept point(IIP3) is-4.6dBm.The mixer consumes 7.8 mA at 1.8 V power supply and the size of the whole layout is 0.73mm×0.68 mm.

The sink-source imbalance in the global carbon cycle is a ＂hot spot＂ for scholars on the subject in the present-day world. So far, the CO2 sink＇s location, size, variation and the mechanism underlying its ever-changing trend are all controversial topics. Currently, the mainstream research in this aspect is concentrated mainly on the organic carbon＇s cycle while little, if not, attention is paid to the current status of the inorganic carbon sink.

This paper is focused on the progress in the determination of water in glasses and melt inclusions with Raman spectroscopy. Using the presented ＂Comparator Technique＂ the water content of a sample is determined by siruple comparison with a known standard. A calibration curve is not necessary. Furthermore, with this technique the water concentration in silicate melt inclusions can be determined without exposing the inclusions for measurements. This is very important for extremely water-rich melt inclusions, which would loose H2O on exposure.     

Guidance cue for cortical radial migration discovered

The regulatory mechanism for neuronal migration in the developing cortex is a major unsolved problem in developmental neurobiology. It is generally accepted that the migration of newborn pyramidal neurons from the ventrieular zone toward upper cortical layers is guided by radial glial fibers in the developing cortex, and that the laminar structure of the cortex isformed through regulated attachment and detachment of migrating neurons with radial glial fibers. However, whether the radial migration of cortical neurons can be guided by a gradient of diffusible factors is unknown, a potential guidance mechanism that has long been overlooked.     

The Influence of Sampling Rate on the Stability and Dynamic Charaeteristecs of a Discretized System

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the influence of sampling rate on closed system which has been discretized from continuous system and in which the ZOH is not inserted, As an example, in has been discribed for the second order system that the impoper choice of sampling rate may cause the unstability of a discretized system, though its original continuous system is stable. The change of locations of poles due to the variations of sampling rate are shown in plots. Proper sampling rate is suggested. Different methods of discretization are compared, and the bilinear transform is recommended.
