浴火凤凰的诞生——巨雕《火凤凰》与北京奥运会

2008年5月4日上午，2008年北京奥运会火炬境内传递首站圣火起跑仪式在海南三亚凤凰岛奥林匹克广场的《火凤凰》主题巨型雕塑前举行。随着北京奥组委执行副主席刘敬民从火种灯引出圣火点燃火炬，数万名观众挥舞国旗，激情欢呼，整个凤凰岛成了“沸腾”的海洋。世界著名短道速滑运动员、冬奥会冠军杨扬从海南省委书记卫留成手中接过火炬，“凤呜和谐”的圣火首站传递正式起跑。     

奥运赛时全球最大旅行社

奥运会期间，奥组委要为来自国际奥委会、各国家奥委会、国际单项体育组织等各方面的客人提供数万间客房，以满足其住宿需求。“从这一角度讲，奥组委住宿部在奥运会赛时成了全球最大的旅行社。”曾在雅典奥组委住宿部实习3个月的王媛向记描述了她眼里的奥组委住宿部门，讲述了雅典奥运会期间，这个“旅行社”是如何运转的。

北京为大众建文化演出场所十露天剧场相继亮相

2008年北京奥运会即将来临．为了迎接奥运会，北京已经建成或正在建设一大批文化设施，这些文化设施有一个显着特点，就是面向大众，以普及文化艺术为目的。北京市文化局局长降巩民说，其实，这些建设项目更主要的是借奥运会之机加快北京文化全面发展的步伐．加紧培育北京的文化产业和文化市场，为后奥运时代做准备。[第一段]     

“北京奥运会火炬典藏”版首发

3月6日，北京奥运会特许商品“北京奥运会火炬典藏”版首发式在北京奥运新闻中心举行。“北京奥运会火炬典藏”版按照北京奥运会火炬原形等比例缩小制成，高度29厘米，象征第29届奥运会，主体采用“鸟巢”钢余料制成。“北京奥运会火炬典藏”版每支售价2900元。全球限量发行20万支，每支火炬特许商品拥有唯一珍藏编号，也是国际奥委会首次批准制作奥运会立体火炬特许商品。     

翰墨诗文迎奥运——关于《翰墨颂歌·中国美术馆迎奥运书法邀请展》

Bird＇s Nest：The National Stadiumor the 2008 Olympics

The National Stadium, a major sports venue for the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, stands on the southern tip of the central section of the Olympic Green. As a landmark of the Olympic Green, this multi-function stadium is the city＇s largest and most advanced sports facility. The National Stadium was co-designed by Herzog ＆ Menron, Arup and China Architecture Design ＆. Research Group. The whole structure covers an area of 258,000 sq. km. Its exterior resembles a bird＇s nest. The steel nest, looking like gray mineral, is covered by transparent coating. Inside the nest is a bowl-like bleacher in earthen red. The stadium＇s design reminds viewers of the red palaces within the gray walls of the Forbidden City. The National Stadium is a perfect blend of traditional Chinese aesthetics and culture, contemporary art and the Olympic spirit. The whole building is fnll of dynamics. Even human activities on the stadium＇s staircases constitute integral elements of the building＇s exterior. While it is amazingly innovative creation, the stadium is characterized by a simplistic and elegant style.

文明轴线的延伸——析北京2008年奥林匹克设计方案

万众瞩目的北京2008年奥林匹克设计方案竞赛终于落下了帷幕。从2002年3月31日开始方案征集，至7月2日止，共有89个应征方案送交北京奥运会组委会。在奥林匹克公园规划设计方案中，国内方案22个，国外方案23个，中外联合设计方案10个。在五棵松文化体育中心规划设计方案中，国内方案17个，国外方案12个，中外联合设计方案5个。经确认，87个方案符合标准并进入评委程序。其中包括奥林匹克公园规划方案54个，五棵松文化体育中心方案33个。境外方案来自美国、澳大利亚、德国、法国、日本、马来西亚、新加坡、瑞士、希腊、俄罗斯、英国、意大利，…     

Safeguard the Purity of the Olympic Spirit

As the Olympic mascots ＂Five Friendlies＂ were released, the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games is approaching us. The anti-doping of the 2008 Olympics shall be undertaken by China Doping Test Center, whose performance at the 1990 Asia Games has been generally recognized and praised. However, the much larger scale of the Olympics will prove that the anti-doping task in 2008 will be much more difficult and complicated.
