希望入籍英国的人在举行正式公民仪式之前,需要先通过英国入籍考试（“LifeintheUKTest”）。考试内容包括英国历史和社会、机构与政治制度,以及需要融入生活实际的问题。例如就业、保健、教育和图书馆等。考试限时45分钟。共有24道题目。回答出18题以上才算考试及格。这项考试制度是2005年英国内政部推出的一项改革,用来“协助入籍的人融入及分享英国价值观和传统”。这项考试可不简单,通过率仅为66％。不过。18周岁以下和65周岁以上的人群或者有语言学校的初级3以上的文凭可以免考。     

略析战后英国在英属黑非洲的公职人员政策（1945-1963）

第二次世界大战之后,英国在英属黑非洲殖民地的公职人员政策有三次调整,分别以扩招、稳定和留任为重点,很好地配合了英国的整体殖民政策。扩招是为了落实殖民地开发计划和地方政府改革计划,稳定和留任都是为了在民族解放运动的大潮中尽力保持自己的殖民利益。其中英国对尼日利亚的公职人员政策较具典型性。英国的政策没有解决独立前后殖民地公职人员缺乏的状况,直接原因在于英国撤退得过快,深层原因则在于其长期以来对殖民地社会发展的忽视。

民族国家精神是法律的内在影响力量。英吉利民族精神中的重实践轻理论、讲实效斥原则、尚经验贬逻辑等特征,对英国刑法的发展有巨大影响,使得英国刑法具有实践性、功利性、保守性、模糊性、灵活性等特征。中国刑法发展可以借鉴英国刑法中的一些制度,同时,研究、挖掘我国的民族精神也尤为重要。

世界著名博物馆之旅（一）：大英博物馆

大英博物馆源于医生、博物学家和收藏家汉斯·斯洛恩爵士的遗嘱。他不希望他收集的约7．1万件物品、一个图书馆和植物标本馆在他死后散落消失，于是便在遗嘱中将这一切赠给国王乔治二世作为国家财产；作为回报，国家付两万英镑给他的继承人。如果他的这一请求被拒绝，那么这些收藏将被赠送给海外学术机构。一个庞大而有影响的托管团受命监督他的遗产的处置。国王对此毫无兴趣，但是议会被说服接收了这一赠礼；一项有关成立大英博物馆的议会法案在1753年6月7日获得皇家许可。这一法案规定，推出一个公共彩票以筹集资金用于购买这些赠物并建立一个博物馆。[第一段]
