基于学术产出挖掘的用户兴趣建模研究

为了解决用户兴趣建模初期存在的冷启动问题,以科研用户公开发表的学术产出作为用户兴趣建模的数据源,采用文本挖掘和基于本体的模型表示技术进行用户建模,并提出一种通过实体关系表示用户兴趣的方法。该方法与使用单个关键词或实体的表示方法相比,语义信息更为丰富,能更好地描述用户兴趣。最后,将生成的用户兴趣本体实例存储到Sesame本体数据库中,支持通过SeRQL和SPARQL语言进行查询,实现了用户兴趣信息的语义化存储和检索。

Survey of Recent Literature in Classical Archaeology

The article reports on the results of a random sample survey of an issue of the Archäologische Bibliographie, an important indexing tool for Classical archaeology. Articles tend to be the predominant medium for information, with French as the best represented. Monographs in the field generally are published in English. Classical archaeology is produced by and large in Europe and published in more than 1,000 journals, with the German-speaking countries producing the greatest number. Titles in archaeology frequently languish in in-processing collections. The importance of Italian as a language for Classical archaeology is stressed.

对十年来我国视频检索文献的计量分析

文章采用文献计量分析方法,通过对CJFD(中国期刊全文数据库)检索统计,对我国1998-2007年期间关于视频检索的文献.从论文数量、年代分布、作者及合著、作者机构、地域分布、期刊分布以及主题特征等方面进行了分析,指出了其特点和存在的问题,目的在于为视频检索的研究发展起到一定参考作用.     

Best Practices of Library Mobile Website Design: A Literature Review

This article is intended to serve as a guide for librarians developing mobile Websites to be linked to their current library Website. Kroski (2008a) defines the mobile Web as “the World Wide Web accessed through a mobile device, ranging from a cellular phone to an iPod Touch. It includes the entirety of the Web and is not limited to Websites that are specifically designed for mobile viewing” (5). This literature review focuses on the mobile Web, mobile device usage, and best practices for designing mobile Websites for libraries.     

The User and the Library

A library's success depends in large part on communication it shares with its users. Formal theory of communication information can be useful in examining the process, which is central to library use. Communication models are presented which display graphically elements of the process. The places of the library and the librarian in the models are discussed. Also presented are the concept of information (particularly as it relates to libraries)and data on information output. The key to all discussion is the library-user exchange and the importance of effective communication to public service in libraries.

Best Practices for Creating an Online Tutorial: A Literature Review

In the digital era, information literacy skills enable users to locate and use online materials effectively. One persistent library service for libraries is providing skills training to students. This article traces the creation of online library instructional tutorials, currently referred to as digital learning objects, in academic libraries. It isolates the factors that improve the success of these learning tools, including knowledge of the tutorials’ purpose and potential, collaboration with other individuals, the use of standards, student engagement, and evaluation. The literature review also illustrates the incorporation of multimedia learning theories and assessment strategies in these tutorials. By developing appropriate learning tools, librarians offer services aimed at meeting user needs while reducing time and resource demands on library staff.
