多年以来，由于应试教育的影响，数学教学往往只侧重于传授现成的知识结论、技巧和技法，而忽视，了学科的基本精神、数学的基本态度与基本方法的培养和训练。在当今信息科技飞速发展的时代，对人才创新能力的要求越来越高。具有创新能力的人才，往往具备较强的数学观念。可以说，数学观念已经成为现代社会人才的一种基本标志，也是现代社会对人的素质的一项基本要求。
