民族地区城乡结合部初中教育模式改革的问题与策略——以德宏州为例

城乡结合部具有城市与乡村的特点,是社会发展中城市与乡村间的桥梁,随着教育改革的不断深入,初中教育模式改革势在必行,而城乡结合部的乡镇中学与城区和广大山区中学有很多相似特点,研究城乡结合部初中教育模式改革中存在的问题,找到解决的策略,对广大山区中学乃至初中教育整体改革有重大而现实的意义。     

城市学校语文新课改问题研究

本文以城市学校语文新课改为视点,在调查问卷与访谈的基础上,揭示了城市学校语文新课改在课程评价、课程内容、教材编制、课程意识方面的问题,并对上述问题展开分析,提出相关建议。     

Charter Schools and Urban Education Improvement: A Comparison of Newark’s District and Charter Schools

This article compares student achievement of fourth graders in charter schools and district public schools in Newark, New Jersey. We find that Newark and New Jersey’s charter schools mirror the educational inequalities of the state as a whole, as well as its Abbott Districts. The data indicate that charter schools are similar to district urban public schools, with pockets of excellence and mediocrity. We measure school performance based on two criteria: actual test score performance, and the difference between actual and predicted performance. We find that some charter schools are able to achieve performance above predicted, given their school and student characteristics, while other schools do worse than predicted. Thus charter schools are not simply a magic bullet, but rather they warrant further investigation to see which practices work and which don’t, especially in a challenging urban setting such as Newark.Jason M. Preservice Teachers’ Perceptions of Mathematics Education in Urban Schools

This article reports findings from a study of preservice mathematics teacher education students and their beliefs about and experiences with students in an urban high school. The preservice teacher education students participated as mentors to a group of peer tutors in a mathematics tutoring program. Data collected from questionnaires and interviews reveal that the mentors had varied perceptions of tutoring program participants’ motivation, interest, and knowledge of mathematics. Mentors held varied perceptions of urban schools and what teaching mathematics in urban settings entails. Further, mentors reported that their work in the tutoring program had an impact on their strategies and plans for future mathematics teaching. Erica N. 采用文献资料、问卷调查以及数理统计等方法,对影响河北省城镇中学实施体育与健康课程标准的因素进行了调查。结果表明,影响河北省城镇中学体育教学改革的因素主要表现在学校领导不重视、学校体育课的地位较低、河北省城镇中学生师比较高、体育教师不能准确把握体育与健康课程标准的内容、体育教师安于现状缺乏改革创新的意识等几个方面。

上海市工读学校心理健康教育现状调查研究

该研究通过对上海市10所工读学校心理健康教育现状的调查,发现工读学校都比较重视心理健康教育,并制定了相应的教育措施,具体的教育形式比较丰富。但也有些学校的机构设置与运作不够完备,心理教师数量相对缺乏,而且专业水平有待提高。同时,也存在学生家长不配合学校的工作等问题。针对工读学校开展心理健康教育的现状和特点,提出一些建议与设想,为工读学校进行心理健康教育提供参考。     

“Acting White”: How the Past Implementation of School Desegregation Helped Create Today’s Attainment and Achievement Gaps

ABSTRACT

Summarizing my prior work, the only book length treatment of the “acting White” phenomenon (Buck, 2010), I argue that while desegregation was both a moral necessity and a social good, the manner in which desegregation was implemented by White authorities led indirectly to today’s achievement gaps. In the course of desegregation previously all-African-American schools were closed, with their faculty and administrators typically demoted or terminated, and their students sent to previously all-White schools, where they were not always welcomed. This massive social change established scholarly achievement as part of a White identity, not a Black identity. Unfortunately, this diagnoses may not lend itself to easy solutions.

教会学校的兴起与近代中国的教育改革
