Romanticism and Romantic Science: Their Contribution to Science Education

The unique contributions of romanticism and romantic science have been generally ignored or undervalued in history and philosophy of science studies and science education. Although more recent research in history of science has come to delineate the value of both topics for the development of modern science, their merit for the educational field has not been explored. Romanticism was not only an obvious historical period, but a particular state of mind with its own extraordinary emotional sensitivity towards nature. It is especially the latter which we hope to revisit and reclaim for science education. After discussing several key historical contributions, we describe nine characteristics of ‘Romantic Science’ in order to focus on six ideas/possibilities that we believe hold much value for transforming current science education: (1) the emotional sensitivity toward nature, (2) the centrality of sense experience, (3) the importance of “holistic experience”, (4) the importance of the notions of mystery and wonder, (5) the power of science to transform people’s outlook on the natural world, and (6) the importance of the relationship between science and philosophy. It is argued that in view of a pragmatist/utilitarian conception of school science prevalent today the aforementioned ideas (especially the notion of wonder and the poetic/non-analytical mode of knowledge), can provide food for thought for both science teachers and researchers seeking to work out an aesthetic conception, one that complements current approaches such as inquiry science and conceptual change.     

我国社区教育中妇女教育的社会价值初论

在我国教育发展过程中妇女教育问题一直是备受关注的一个问题。就全国的情形而言,在家庭和社会生活中,社区妇女一直都面临着众多挑战与亟须解决的难题。许多省市都在开展着富有区域特色的社区教育,以期为社区妇女的生存状况的改善和社会地位的提高提供全方位的基础性的保障,其中,非政府组织也为其提供了不可或缺的保障作用。通过参加职业技能、生活技能等培训,社区妇女可以有效提高生活的自信和做事的效能。社区妇女教育在家庭和谐与社会进步方面的确具有非常积极的社会意义。     

省思浪漫主义的生命教育

当下兴起的生命教育思潮可大致分为强调自我保存与安全的生命教育与追求生命灵动、个性与活力的浪漫主义生命教育(或生命化教育)两类。从思想史上看,浪漫主义是反启蒙的,但同时又进一步推进了启蒙所导致的现代性困境。浪漫主义的生命教育在避免了以自我保存为本的生命教育所固存的动物化倾向的同时,又进一步推进了后者所带来的教育困境。     

Women and Higher Education

Typically, the PhD degree is said to be more research oriented, whereas the EdD is aimed more at the educational practitioner. We compared the two degrees with regard to research design, statistics, target populations, significance of results, age of subjects, and other characteristics. Samples of 1,007 PhD and 960 EdD dissertations were selected from Dissertation Abstracts International from 1950–1990. We found that the percentage of PhD dissertations is increasing and is higher for women; PhD dissertations contained more multivariate statistics, had wider generalizability, and were more prevalent in certain areas of concentration. The EdD dissertations contained more survey research and were most prevalent in educational administration research. No differences between the degrees were found in basic versus applied or in significance of findings.     

社区教育促进社区治理:意义、问题及路径

社区是社会的核心和细胞,随着中国社会、经济、文化改革地不断深入,城乡差距加大,居民的生产与生活方式改变,人们的思想与价值更加多元化,社会矛盾、社会问题大量涌现,对社会稳定与和谐造成严重威胁。以社区治理为基础和核心的社会治理成为我国深化改革、化解社会矛盾,满足人们需要的新型管理方式。社区治理的核心是人的自治意识、参与能力与文化素养的培养,作为全面培养居民知识、技能、道德与文化、精神修养的社区教育就成为社区治理关键内容和方式。我国社区教育与社区治理还存在:社区教育目标缺失,社区居委会、村委会功能错位,居民参与失位,社区精神丧失等问题。社区教育在促进社区治理过程中不仅发挥着以"魂"铸人、以"德"树人、以"文"化人、以"技"助人、以"情"聚人的功能,而且也可以促进政府职能的转变和社会组织的培育等。     

社区教育——终身教育的载体

终身教育自20世纪60年代提出以来,得到了广泛的重视和发展。在我国,随着经济体制的改革和发展,终身教育这一理念也越来越深入人心,其中,社区教育成为这一理念付诸实施的载体。本文从社区教育发展的趋势、社区教育的本质及人的社会化三方面,阐述了社区教育是终身教育载体的必然性。

需求产生动机,动机指导行为。社区教育的发展很大程度取决于社区成员不同学习需求的满足,加强需求导向研究是推动社区教育普及和发展的重要保证。本文从探讨加强需求研究的必要性入手,分析当前社区成员的需求动态,提出更好适应社区教育需求的对策建议,以期推动社区教育的进一步发展。

18世纪末19世纪初,西方兴起了浪漫主义文学思潮,这种思潮迅即超越空间对中国新文学的成长和发展产生了很大的影响,从而使其表现出某些与之相似的特点.但是,由于中国作家所处的特定现实环境以及中国民族文化的积淀,又使中国的浪漫主义文学与西方浪漫主义更有不同.本文试从浪漫主义的精神与在文学创作上的具体表现、民族文化特征与现实环境等方面入手,对西方浪漫主义在中国的发展变异、中国新文学中表现的浪漫主义精神和创作特点与西方浪漫主义的相似点与相异点、中西浪漫主义文学家在气质上的本质性差异等问题作一简要的论述.     

Teacher Education,Evacuation and Community in War-Time Britain: The Women of Avery Hill at Huddersfield 1941–46

The evacuation of civilians during Second World War Britain included the relocation not only of school children and teachers but of whole schools and, in some instances, of teacher training colleges. This paper examines the evacuation of Avery Hill College, a leading teacher training college, from London to Huddersfield between 1941 and 1946. Focusing on issues of gender and community, it provides an account of the circumstances of the move, institutional relations and resources, the social milieu of war-time Huddersfield, the challenges arising from evacuation, the responses of staff and trainees, and the broader institutional and teacher education policy transitions that ensued.

现代科学发展致使人的生活世界发生分化和背离的危机,经济全球化又使人的身份获得与认同产生危机。社区教育生活化与社区生活教育化作为社区教育发展的两种路向,本能地形成弥合和克服两种危机的策略和方法,同时也为教育理论的地缘性、开放性和丰富性作出最好的例证。     

社区教育与社区共生发展:基础、逻辑及路径

社区教育作为服务并依托于社区的一种教育形式,双方在目标相同、利益相关、"资源"互补或共促基础上存在一种共生发展的关系。在服务与保障指向上,社区教育是一种为了社区的教育,是社区发展的重要支撑;而社区又为社区教育提供存在与发展的空间,是社区教育发展的重要依托。有鉴于此,为深化社区教育与社区的互动共生,推进二者共生发展,应创造和提供如下前提条件:树立"共生发展观",为推进社区教育与社区共生发展提供理念支撑;做好"社区居民培育",为社区建设与高质量发展提供有力支撑;强化"资源保障",为社区教育的良性发展提供强劲支持。     

中国特色社区学校建设的可行性研究

一个文明的社区不只是高档住房和大量人口的简单汇集，还需要有文化内涵。社区物质务件的现代化不等同于市民的文明化，一个真正的文明市民要在文化素质层次上实现从农民到城镇居民，从普通城镇居民到文明市民的角色改变，需要完善社区的教育功能。社区教育的基本责任是：以“文化教育”治愚，以“生计教育”救穷，以“卫生教育”强体，以“公民教育”弘德。
