本文从仅存的文献资料及仅有的考古发现入手,分析了虢人灭焦的原因,进而论证了虢、焦同为姬姓,却非同宗同族的历史渊源,由此推及周初分封制度的产生、发展及存在的合理性、不合理性。由于资料有限, 对虢、焦存在关系及虢人灭焦的作用等问题均未过多涉及。
