用科学发展观分析了我国图书馆事业与其他事业发展不平衡、图书馆事业内部发展不平衡的种种现状，提出要用科学发展观采加以解决，要充分认识并利用以人为本，内部力争是根本这一图书馆事业发展的基本规律，要努力创造各种条件使我国图书馆事业永久持续发展，要加强行政部门对图书馆事业的科学管理使之发挥更大效益和获得更大支持。

论述了图书馆界近几年理念创新对于推进图书馆事业发展的重要作用。     

Academic Librarianship Without the Degree: Examining the Characteristics and Motivations of Academic Library Professionals

Studies exploring librarians' backgrounds and career motivations frequently focus on all types of librarians or on students seeking degrees in librarianship. Investigating particular subsets of librarians is a field ripe for study. Here, we employed a survey of 193 academic library professionals, who are defined as those employed in professional positions in academic libraries but not possessing a graduate degree in librarianship. We found prior work in an academic library is a substantial motivating factor for entry into the field, as is also the case for traditional academic librarians who choose to attain a graduate degree in library science prior to obtaining a position in the library. The data also suggests that there are two main streams of entry for academic library professionals: those who are hired into functional positions that do not require a graduate degree in librarianship and those who hold paraprofessional titles that have taken on professional-level work. Finally, we found a majority of academic library professionals have no intention of, and do not see the value in, pursuing a graduate degree in librarianship.     

融入主流谋发展 拓展合作促繁荣——浙江大学图书馆学科服务创新实践

近两年来,浙江大学图书馆本着"融入主流谋发展,拓展合作促繁荣"的发展思路,重新设计了学科服务的规划、布局和服务流程,对内采取学部(院系)-学科分馆-部门相互协作的运作模式,对外广泛开展与多个机构和团体的合作,短期内扩大了服务群体,在服务师生和学校的多个方面都取得了成果,获得了学校的肯定。文章期望通过介绍浙江大学图书馆学科服务实践案例给广大同行提供一些借鉴。     

Developing Teaching Competencies for Instructors in the Academic Library

Abstract

A university library developed a list of teaching competencies with three goals in mind: (1) to improve the quality of teaching in the information literacy program, (2) to create an outline for training in pedagogy, and (3) to provide a mechanism for self and peer assessment in library instruction. The authors describe the development process and discuss the rationale for each set of skills and behaviors. The article includes the list of competencies.     

The Library is Dead,Long Live the Library! The Practice of Academic Librarianship and the Digital Revolution

As a direct consequence of the digital revolution, academic libraries today face competition as information providers. Using Richard N. Foster's technology S curves as the analytical model, this article shows that academic libraries are in the midst of discontinuous change by questioning a number of assumptions that support the current practice of academic librarianship. The authors challenge these assumptions, and analyze the manner in which digital communications affect academic libraries.     

图书馆与制度公正——制度图书馆学研究

从制度视角研究图书馆现象,认为图书馆是民主社会的制度公正的产物,图书馆制度体现了社会制度的公正性,图书馆制度是民主社会为了保障公民的知识权利而选择的一种制度安排。体现了知识自由、知识平等和知识共享的公正理念。最后,提出“制度图书馆学”这一新概念。     

Developing and Implementing a Behavior Policy for an Academic Library

A behavior policy provides guidelines for determining and managing unacceptable behavior. It protects library patrons and staff from abusive actions of others that undermine the purpose of the library. Development of a policy is facilitated by consulting staff, campus police and other officials, and by examining other libraries' policies and procedures.
