穿越世纪的DIY——十字绣

I have been cross-sitiching on and off since the late 1970's when I was in middle school. What drew me to learn this handcraft was the simplicity of the art yet the intricate designs that one could create. Learning to corss-stitch is very simple since the basic stitch is making "x's" with colored thread on a piece of fabric. I enjoy the ability to easily take my craft with me on trips for something to do when there is a rest period.The first pieces that I corss-stitched were small single character designs that I was able to make into bookmarks or put into very small frames for on top of a desk. The finished fronts on these pieces turned out looking really good, but the backs looked like an explosion of threads. As I cross-stitched more, I began to learn and understand how to stitch my "x's" so that the backs of my cross-stitched pieces looked almost as neat as the fronts.Now people look at the backs of my pieces and admire how neatly my color changes(start and end of threads).     

An unexpected meeting changed my life

Isn't it amazing how one person, sharing one idea, at the right time and place can change the course of your life's history? This is certainly what happened in ray life. When I was 14, I was hitchhiking from Houston, Texas, through El Paso on my way to California. I was following my dream, journeying with the sun. I was a high school dropout with learning disabilities and was set on surfing the biggest waves in the world, first in California and then in Hawaii, where I would later live.     

My Dream

I had a dream last night. It was a funny dream! In my dream, Sun Wukong was flying in the sky. I said to him: "Sun Wukong! I want to fly too!" Sun Wukong said: "O.K. I will help you!" Heblew(吹) one breath(气) and I began torise(升起)slowly(慢慢地). Then I was flying into the sky. I was very happy and excited.     

I love my home!

My Favorite Opera

Cats is my favorite opera. It has been put on throughout the world and is loved by all the opera fans. I know much about the opera 1 . It has been performed more than 1,500 times up to now. A Bookshelf or Something Else？

We spent a day in the country and picked a lot of flowers. Our car was full of flowers inside! On the way home, we had to stop at traffic lights, and there my wife saw the bookshelf. It stood outside a furniture(家具) shop. “Buy it ,” she said at once. “We‘ll carry it home on the roof rack(车顶架). I‘ve always wanted one like that.” What could I do‘?. Ten minutes later I was twenty dollars poorer, and the bookshelf was tied on to the roof rack.     

My Pencil-box

I have a very beautiful pencil-box. I like it very much.
One day six years ago when I was in primary school, my mother took me to a shop to buy a pencil-box. I still remember that first I saw a big and beautiful one, but it was not strong enough. I didn＇t like it at all, then we went on to look for another pencil-box. Suddenly I saw a very small but nice one, and it was also stronger than others. So I was very glad to have it, on which we spent only five yuan.     

Everything Is Possible

Everything is possible,I think. If I have a dream,I won't give up.I know as long as I try my best to achieve it,I will succeed one day,no matter how hard it is.But if I don't work hard,even though the dream is very small,it's impossible to reach. My Trip to Beijing

A Little Dog

When I was ten years old, a little dog called Xueqiu came into my life as a birthday present. It was a pretty dog with long white hair. And the hair felt very soft. Our House on Mango Street

My First Part-time Job

Everyone, I wonder, may cherish a dream when he or she was in the childhood.
