论导师与研究生谈话理念与方法的创新

导师与研究生之间的谈话是研究生培养教育的重要途径和载体,针对研究生思想与行为的特点:更具独立性与差异性、创新欲望强烈、更加注重个人价值的实现、同时心理有一定的脆弱性,导师在交谈过程中需要树立人文关怀、平等沟通、全面关注等新理念,并创设平等沟通语境与双向互动机制,合理引导学生思想行为,关注学生切身实际问题等交谈的方式方法,可以提高交谈的针对性与实效性。     

论研究生导师的有效指导

指出研究生教育质量的提升,在一定程度上取决于研究生导师指导的有效性.认为研究生导师的有效指导意味着把研究生带到知识前沿、形成研究问题、指导方法和规范、引导批判和创新;研究生导师指导的有效性反映在指导的适时、适度和适当等三个方面.提出研究生导师的有效指导应注意提高导师素质,建立和谐互动的师生关系.     

研究生导师指导研究及思考

导师负责制是当前研究生教育的主要制度之一。导师作为研究生教育的第一责任人,所提供的指导行为对研究生的学习、科研,乃至思想道德的培养等均发挥着重要作用。针对过往有关导师指导的概念内涵、风格类型及影响后果进行回顾和总结,并在此基础上指出了未来可能的研究方向。     

基于内容分析法的研究生导师指导风格概念模型构建

运用Nvivo.11软件对“导师论导”的相关文献①进行内容分析，结果发现：导师指导行为主要表现在硬软件支持、营造氛围、学术规范教导、技能传授与思想点拨、模范榜样、任务布置和监督控制七大方面。上述导师指导行为分别与领导风格理论中的“定规行为”与“关怀行为”相契合。借鉴管理方格理论构建方式，以“定规行为”和“关怀行为”为基本维度，建构出研究生导师指导风格概念模型：贫乏型、指令型、牧师型与协作型。未来高校可积极开展基于导师指导风格概念模型的导师评价与培训工作，促进导师专业发展；在研究生招生录取时，考虑导师指导风格与学生学习风格的匹配度；在研究生培养中导师应注重因材施教，提高指导的有效性。

关于研究生导师指导行为的调查分析

通过对研究生的问卷调查,分析导师指导行为的现状,结果表明:导师与研究生见面交流的频度和效果有较大缺陷,导师的指导方式和自身素质还不能很好地满足需要。严格导师遴选,建立导师工作规范,加强导师职业道德建设,是提高导师队伍质量的重要保证。

本刊讯(记者周玉清)《导师论导——研究生导师论研究生指导》一书自2008年出版以来,受到了广大研究生导师的欢迎,为广大导师更有效地指导研究生提供了参考和借鉴,也为研究生培养单位培训新导师提供了便利。     

The tutor/facilitator role in student retention

Open and distance learning provide particular (and sometimes overlapping) contexts for discussions of student retention. This paper argues that the environment for learning created by distance learning tutors is a key factor in student retention, whether retention is taken to refer to student completion of a single course or student persistence through a programme of study. Discussion of tutors' roles in retaining students is stimulated by the recent symposium on student retention and draws on a new analysis of three linked empirical inquiries located within the UK Open University. A fruitful integration of questionnaire surveys, project evaluation and practitioner action inquiries suggest that, where questions of retention focus on the student and their learning experience, tutors' facilitative roles are complex and valuable. Institutional policies and course design practices need to support tutors in their retention roles by using and sharing appropriate pedagogies, systems, student information and integrated professional development opportunities.

良好的研究生与导师之间的关系是提高高校研究生教育质量的重要保证。因此研究其间的和谐关系有很重要的意义。影响其间关系的主要因素有研究生的培养特点、导师的指导风格与素质、研究生培养目标等。导师和研究生之间的关系有权威型、松散型、功利型、和谐型等几种类型,但导师与研究生之间最基本的关系仍然是师生关系,其本质是一种教与学的关系,和谐"导学"是这种关系的集中体现。     

Becoming a tutor: student scaffolding in a game-based classroom

Student interaction in school contexts is a topic that has been researched from many different perspectives. However, the role of students as tutors scaffolding other peers is not normally addressed, since studies are usually focused on the teacher. Moreover, considering the many technologies that can support students’ work nowadays, studies describing specific practices are still needed in order to understand the many possibilities and constraints that can emerge from the use of these tools in the field of education. This exploratory case study aims to extend research on scaffolding between students, presenting data from an ethnographic study where a commercial video game was introduced as part of the curricular activities. Analytically, the scaffolding metaphor is the departing point to describe in detail how the scaffolding process took place, focusing on its purposes and on the role of students as tutors. Our findings reveal how students offered mostly procedural scaffoldings, performing tutor functions such as highlighting relevant features, reducing levels of freedom or controlling the frustration. Results highlight that students can perform scaffolds, and this should be considered as part of the classroom design, making this process visible. Moreover, specific features of the video game enhanced these interactions, which should also be considered when designing game learning environments in the future.     

研究生导师教书育人评价体系构建研究

导师是保障研究生培养质量的重要因素。针对目前我国研究生导师队伍的现状及导师评价体系中存在的问题,笔者提出构建胜任特征模型的研究生导师教书育人评价体系,以激发导师培养研究生的积极性,提升研究生导师的整体素质。通过文献分析法及德尔菲法,笔者构建了由3个一级指标,10个二级指标,30个三级指标组成的研究生导师教书育人评价体系胜任力模型。     

Issues and agency: postgraduate student and tutor experiences with written feedback

This paper examines the issues which postgraduate students and tutors experienced as they engaged in receiving, providing and requesting feedback, as well as the strategies which they adopted as they sought resolution of these issues. The study employed a case study approach, using data obtained from semi-structured and stimulated recall interviews with students and staff from three discipline areas at one university in the UK. The findings reinforce the conclusions that have been drawn in a number of previous studies in terms of the sources of dissatisfaction emerging from individual interactions and institutional practices. Additionally, however, the results expand on our current understanding of feedback and agency in higher education by illustrating how participants sought out imaginative solutions to the challenges they experienced, in order to enhance the effectiveness of the feedback process. The diversity of the strategies used provides evidence of student and tutor agency, and has implications for current feedback practices and future research in this area.     

论普通高校本科生导师制度建设

本科生导师制虽然已经实行了几个年头,但其效果仍然差强人意,导师制配套制度的供给不足应是造成其实施过程中出现各种问题的根本原因。通过规范导师选择、明确导师职责定位、合理规定学生义务、考核评价办法制订、实施有效激励、监控培养过程等配套制度的改革,建立一个完善的制度环境,才能从根本上提高实施本科生导师制的有效性。     

Deriving individual student marks from a tutor’s assessment of group work

The use of group work, in which three or more students jointly produce a piece of work for summative assessment, is an established aspect of teaching and learning in higher education. Opinions vary however about whether their marks should vary according to the respective contributions they made to the work. This paper is based on the assumption that if adjustments are to be made, they should be made on sound statistical grounds. Current methods for adjusting student marks do not allow the size of the adjustments to be controlled and empirical data are presented which show that very large adjustments can occur. This paper presents a method for deriving final student marks from a single tutor mark and ratings which students make of each other’s contributions. The method incorporates a mechanism for directly controlling the size of the adjustments made. It is demonstrated using data from students following a degree programme in computing. A spreadsheet has been written which undertakes the calculations necessary to apply the method.
