一王夫之,字而农,号姜斋,湖南衡阳(今衡阳市)人。因晚年隐居于石船山,后人称其为船山先生。生于明万历四十七年(1619年),卒于清康熙三十一年(1692年),享年74岁。王夫之的祖辈,多是中下级军官。但从高祖王宁开始,即“以文墨教子弟”。王夫之的父亲王朝聘,笃信程朱理学。他极向往武夷山,特以“武夷”名其书室,故学者称他为武夷先生。他虽年青时就考中秀才,但多次乡试,均未中举,其中一个重要原因,

王韬的法国史及普法战争史研究

王韬原名利宾,字兰卿.江苏甫里人(这个地方半属昆山,半属吴县),少年时曾入县学读书,后来考上秀才.他父亲是一个乡村塾师,家境不富裕,因此小时候常常出入典铺.正是这个原因,王韬早年置身在社会的底层,能听到穷苦人民的嗟怨之声.王韬也是从"经史子集"的旧书堆中爬滚过来的,"九岁迄成童,毕读全经,旁涉诸史."然而他又自称."诗文天所师承".     

古籍整理园地中的一杂奇葩——读新出版的点校本《蔡襄集》

1988年,吴以宁先生出版了他的学术著作《古今中外论蔡襄》(上海三联书店),最近他又凭借其长期从事古籍整理研究的丰富实践和渊博知识,点校出版了65万字的《蔡襄集》(上海古籍出版社),使他成为当今研究宋史及蔡襄的一位很有成就的学者。 蔡襄(1012-1067年),字君谟,福建兴化仙游人,年18举进士,官至端明殿学土。孝宗乾道年间,赐谥曰忠惠。综观他的一生,在政治、艺术、文学和科技等方面均有卓著的业绩和非凡的成就,值得人们关注和研究。然而,其遗作散见各处,给研究者带来诸多不便,亟需整理汇集出版。吴以宁先生历经数年,千方百计收集蔡襄诗文集的各种版本,以及蔡襄的佚文、佚诗、碑刻、墨迹,予以整理点校,现在终于将《蔡襄集》布世了,诚为可喜可贺！现将阅读《蔡襄集》点校本的初步印象,略述于下。
