A sample of 220 adults responded to a questionnaire on their recollections of name-calling and nicknames while at school. Hurtful names were reported by 141 participants, who described coping with them primarily by means of verbal retaliation or ignoring the names. Participants rarely told teachers and most stated that their school was unhelpful. Although the experience was regarded less negatively over time, this was not the case for those who reported finding the names most hurtful. These participants reported greater effects on all areas of school life and a stronger association of name-calling with physical bullying, and they rated their current feelings about the past experience as more negative. The most common content of names referred to physical appearance, play on the individual's own name, and animals, trends also found in studies of children and in research into teasing. 相似文献

The Great Dictionary of the Hui People of China states: "It is said that Muslims entered Tibet around the eleventh century A.D. In the wake of intercourse between different nationalities (min zu), Muslims living in such places as Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Sichuan, and Kashmir and engaging chiefly in trade and the spreading of religion crossed the mountains, valleys, and rivers into the snow-covered high plateaus where they intermarried with the local Tibetans and formed the Hui people of Tibet. Hence nearly 80 percent of the Huis in Tibet have Tibetan blood lineage." The Record of Lhasa Historical Relics (La sa wen wu zhi), compiled by the Committee for the Management of Historical Relics of the Tibet Autonomous Region also states: "The Grand Mosque in Lhasa was constructed in the fifty-fifth year of the Kangxi reign (1716). It was built initially on a fairly small scale, with a floor space of only something over 200 square meters. By the fifty-eighth year of the Qianlong reign (1793), after the suppression of the Ghurkas, the Grand Mosque underwent repairs and expansion." These records indicate that the Huis of Lhasa have a history of about nine hundred years in Tibet and that the Grand Mosque has a history of nearly three hundred years. 相似文献
