"It is a very wonderful story to tell," in the interview with BCAS reporter SONG Jianlan before the opening of the 35 th International Symposium on Remote Sensing of Environment (ISRSE), Dr. Ghassem R. Asrar, Director of the World Climate Research Program (WCRP) and former Earth Science Associate Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) could not help expressing his joyfulness and satisfaction at the wonderful job the global community has done in just thirty years: building the Earth observing system (EOS),turning the observations into useful information and making it available to scientists and decision makers around the world. Let's follow him to celebrate the contributions of Earth observations to our understanding of the Earth system and climate, a sub-system of our planet, and recognize China's current and future role in this system. With the development of the economic life and deepening of the theoretic research, the civil law community in China began, from the late 1990s and early this century, heated discussions on how to develop a good civil code, and the legislative authority also appointed some experts and scholars to start the work on drafting the civil code. Since the work along the line also involves the structure and system of the civil code, whether to incorporate the intellectual property law into the civil code has become one of the points of attention from the scholars. Is this planet growing warmer and warmer? What climatic change will occur in the future? To answer these big questions, however, the scientific community has to know first what happened in the geological history of the Earth, namely, the paleoclimatic change. With his half-centurylong research on loess deposition in China, Prof. Liu Dongsheng from the CAS Institute of Geology and Geophysics has unveiled an imposing paleoclimatic scenario happening in the Quaternary period; and more importantly, the work conducted by him and his colleagues and students has presented loess sediments in China as a complete and reliable databank of paleoclimatic change.  相似文献

The patent system has undergone over two decades of development in China. Its establishment and development have spurred the China's reform and opening up to the outside world, and technological innovation, and pushed the enterprises to actively participate in the world economy integration.
