On the efficient methods for searching for scientific information on the internet and the rights of users for disposal of the obtained data

This paper notes the interrelations between the types and methods of information searches, including Internet searches. It suggests the general approach for making a search for documents on the Internet, for example, scientific articles on information and communication. The methods for information searches used on the Internet are characterized with placing a particular emphasis on the method of searching with the use of search systems. General recommendations for successful conduction of searches are advanced to increase their efficiency. The goals and problems faced by a user during scientific information searches are presented. A user’s rights for the results of a search for scientific information are described from the standpoint of legal relations regulated by Russian legislation. Copyright protection methods are also considered based on Russian and foreign legislation.

Abstract

Planning for the next millennium focuses on the acquisition of electronic formats and resource sharing with local libraries to extend access to information and remote electronic resources. How will we decide what our users need and whether they will use electronic resources as well as they currently use paper resources? Using a variety of computer resources, surveys, and circulation statistics, we determine what journals are essential for faculty needs in teaching, research and continuing education, and how we can best utilize combinations of electronic and print resources to position the medical library to move into the future without sacrificing the past. What role will the medical publisher play in this scenario and what are some likely trends in the medical publishing industry as the millennium approaches?.

洛阳市中小学校车需求量预测

本文通过调查洛阳市中小学生上下学各种交通方式所占比率,计算出洛阳市市区校车市场的潜在客流量。根据近几年的潜在客流量,首先采用加权平滑预测模型、灰色系统模型和灰色——马尔柯夫预测模型进行初步预测,然后采用组合预测模型来对未来客流量进行最终预测。根据最终预测结果,计算出洛阳市市区普及校车工程所需要的校车数量。

[目的/意义]随着知识服务平台的发展，如何通过评估改善知识服务平台的功能和设计以更好地服务于用户成为重要的问题。本文旨在探讨知识服务平台的评估要素和评估标准，为知识服务平台的评估实践提供理论指导。[方法/过程]从信息检索系统评估出发，回顾和梳理信息检索系统评估、数字图书馆评估的相关研究和理论模型、数字图书馆的评估要素和标准。[结果/结论]基于总结和归纳以往信息服务类系统的评估要素，结合知识服务平台的特征，阐述知识服务平台评估的要素和评估标准。     

Selection for preservation: considerations for the health sciences

Just as no health sciences library can afford to collect every work on a subject, neither can any health sciences library afford to preserve every item that is added to its collection. In decision making for collection development, health sciences libraries apply a set of selection criteria. Those same criteria have direct application in selection for preservation decisions. This paper summarizes the literature of selection for preservation, describes the scholarly record of biomedicine, and presents criteria for selection for preservation decisions. The preservation priorities statement for microfilming of monographs and serials in the National Library of Medicine collection is included as an appendix.     

Prospects for the application of scientometric methods for forecasting

Forecasting studies, which are conducted in all the developed economies of the world, are one of the fastest growing applications of scientometrics. Currently, in Russia there is a formed state Technology Foresight System, which creates a new format for the future development of research and for interaction among the key players in the national innovation system. Considering the new institutional environment of forecasting projects in Russia and the international trends in the relevant research environments, scientometric methods for the monitoring, analysis, and forecasting of the development of science and technology are identified as one of the most important methods. Specific demands and trends, which will soon have a substantial impact on the entire area of scientometrics, are formulated.

老年人信息素养教育的理论导向决定了其价值定位与发展方向.对老年人信息素养教育的相关理论导向进行分析,进而指出其存在的不足:以康乐理论、社会适应理论为主导的理论导向忽视了老年人的社会主体地位,权利理论、福利理论、终身教育与终身学习理论等理论导向又面临着现实基础薄弱的窘境,因而确定以促进老年人社会参与为导向的理论选择才是我国老年人信息素养教育的可持续发展之计.参考文献28.
