This study explored the supervision training needs of site supervisors of master's program school counseling interns via the construct of self‐efficacy. Using the Site Supervisor Self‐Efficacy Survey developed for this study, the authors surveyed school counseling site supervisors in the states of Oregon and Washington (N = 147) regarding their hours of supervision training and their supervisor self‐efficacy. Results indicated that 54% of school counseling site supervisors had little or no counseling supervision training. Supervisor self‐efficacy appeared to be relatively strong, consistently so for school counseling site supervisors with over 40 hours of supervision training. A partial correlation indicated a slightly positive relationship between the hours of supervision training received and perceived self‐efficacy regarding supervision. Implications regarding school counseling site supervisor training and future research are offered.  相似文献

Enhanced interest in supervision training has corresponded with recognition of supervision as a profession in its own right. For many practicing professional counselors, supervision training has traditionally been unavailable. The present research used the Clinical Supervision Questionnaire to evaluate the effect of a supervision training program on the supervision scores of 16 practicing professional counselors who participated in a supervision training program. Participants completed a pretraining and posttraining questionnaire. The findings revealed a significant difference between the pre‐ and posttraining results for the experimental group. This difference was maintained over a 6‐month period. Practical and research implications are discussed.  相似文献

The purpose of the study was to determine whether marital relationships of doctoral students were affected while they were enrolled in graduate programs. The stratified sample consisted of 54 participants who completed the Demographics and Structured Questionnaire, Locke‐Wallace Marital Adjustment Test, and Index of Marital Satisfaction. There were no significant differences among the marital satisfaction levels of graduate students at different stages in their program. Significant differences were found in relationship to several of the research questions, however. Specifically, a significant difference was found in the marital satisfaction of couples involved in marital therapy. Spouses who also were students scored significantly higher in marital satisfaction than spouses who were not students. Areas of discord that affected marital satisfaction during graduate school were philosophy of life, demonstration of affection, and sexual relations.  相似文献

博士生教育作为学历教育中最顶端的层次,其培养的质量一直受到社会的广泛关注。博士生培养质量是通过终端的统计指标来体现的,而影响这些指标高低的关键因素贯穿在博士生培养的过程之中,只有回溯博士生的培养过程,才能发现培养高质量博士生的实践逻辑。通过对10位全国优秀博士学位论文获得者的质性访谈,‘再现了高质量博士生的培养全过程,所在学科领域的成熟程度、个人教育背景与研究方向的契合度、师生相处过程中的匹配度三个因素直接影响博士生培养质量,“正视起点、注重过程、因材施教”的培养路径是高质量博士生培养过程中需要共同遵循的实践逻辑。  相似文献

Involvement in research has become a fixture in undergraduate science education across the United States. Graduate and postdoctoral students are often called upon to mentor undergraduates at research universities, yet mentoring relationships in undergraduate—graduate/postdoctoral student dyads and undergraduate—graduate/postdoctoral student—faculty triads have been largely unexamined. Here, we present findings of an exploratory case study framed by relational theory that identifies the motives, gains, and challenges reported by graduate/postdoctoral students who mentored undergraduates in research. Graduate/postdoctoral mentors experienced a wide range of gains, including improved qualifications and career preparation, cognitive and socioemotional growth, improved teaching and communication skills, and greater enjoyment of their own apprenticeship experience. Notably, graduate/postdoctoral mentors reported twice as many gains as challenges, neither of which were limited by their motives for mentoring. Indeed, their motives were fairly narrow and immediate, focusing on how mentoring would serve as a means to an end, while the gains and challenges they reported indicated a longer-term vision of how mentoring influenced their personal, cognitive, and professional growth. We propose that understanding the impact of mentoring undergraduates on the education and training of graduate/postdoctoral students may uncover new ideas about the benefits reaped through undergraduate research experiences.  相似文献

The purpose of this research was to explore some of the most prevalent methods for conducting Levels 4 and 5 of technical training evaluation among large organizations with a preponderance of technical talent. The researchers collected data through a survey and conducted interviews with select study participants. The sample size for the study (n = 26) comprised predominantly large, global organizations in technical industries. While a larger percentage of organizations have been found than in previous research to conduct Level 4 evaluations, few conduct Level 5 evaluations for their technical training, and most of the participant organizations struggle with advanced analytical techniques for technical training evaluation. The article summarizes some of the most prevalent training evaluation models reported in the literature since 2000, and provides useful examples from study participants of how they evaluated their technical training at Levels 3 and 4, along with their advice to fellow technical training and performance improvement professionals. Although the study was exploratory in nature and utilized a small sample size, the study is only the second study since 2000 to specifically explore the evaluation practices of large organizations with a focus on technical training as opposed to general training.  相似文献

It was hypothesized that explicit instruction in the use of a conceptual framework would be more effective than feedback about behavior in teaching the conceptual skills of problem definition and goal formulation to beginning practicum students. Counseling trainees received one of two kinds of supervision, instruction or feedback, in written form following an interview with a role-play client. They subsequently interviewed two more role-play clients. After each interview, trainees formulated problem definitions, short-term goals, and outcome goals for the case. At the end of the experiment, they rated the supervision they received and their own counseling performance in the three interviews. Results did not support the hypothesis, but rather the reverse. Feedback was found to be more effective in teaching goal formulation and was perceived by trainees to be more effective.  相似文献

当前公安院校警体训练在整理活动认识上存在不足,而整理活动是预防运动损伤,提高训练效果的重要途径.本研究通过实验方法,对整理活动在提高学员体能,预防运动损伤、预防运动疲劳方面进行实验研究.实验前实验组、对照组体能水平基本相同.试验后实验组比对照组体能指标提高明显、运动疲劳恢复、运动损伤有明显区别.表明试验方法在预防运动疲劳、促进疲劳恢复、科学提高体能方面具有显著作用.通过该研究,可以进一步增强警体训练对整理活动的重视,保证警体训练科学化、最优化进行,对于公安学院的警体教育具有及其重要的现实意义.  相似文献

选取了博士生培养投入和过程环节的关键要素,考察导师学术背景、导学关系提升博士生高水平论文发表的影响机制。基于“双一流”建设高校材料学科高水平学术论文发表的博士生问卷调查分析结果,发现导师学术背景对博士生发表论文具有显著影响,海归导师指导的博士生在SCI一区和三区发表论文的数量更高,而在二区发表论文的数量则与本土导师指导的博士生没有显著差异;导学关系对博士生发表亦有不同影响,权威型导学关系对博士生在SCI一区发表论文数量有显著正向影响,而其他类型导学关系对博士生在SCI一区发表论文的系数皆为负。进一步分析导师学术背景与导学关系的交互效应后发现,海归导师对博士生高水平学术论文发表具有独立的正向效应,且海归导师并不依赖权威型导学关系,而是通过合作型导学关系促进博士生学术论文发表。高校应重视提升博士生导师学术背景的多元化以及导学关系的有效性。  相似文献

This paper reports on the research trainingexperiences of Australian doctoral studentsworking in or funded by Cooperative ResearchCentres (CRCs), notes how their levels ofsatisfaction compare with those of theircounterparts in regular university science andtechnology disciplines and assesses to whatextent the CRC program is achieving its hopeswith respect to PhD training. Findings arebased on data from a survey of all enrolled PhDstudents in two research-intensive universitiesin Australia, together with supplementary datafrom student and supervisor interviews. Findings indicate that in the main, CRC-relatedPhD students fare well compared with theircounterparts in regular university departmentsand that on a number of indicators CRC-relatedstudents recorded higher levels of satisfactionwith their course experience.
